Camp invites: As expected, Reds top pitching prospect Homer Bailey was among 12 non-roster players to receive invitations to big-league Spring Training.

Besides Bailey, the other players invited already in the organization were left-handed pitcher Michael Gosling, catcher Ryan Hanigan and infielder Paul Janish.

Signed to Minor League contracts and invited to camp were right-handed pitchers Victor Santos and Tom Shearn, left-handed pitcher Jason Kershner, catchers Dan Conway, Ryan Jorgensen and Miguel Perez, infielder Anderson Machado and outfielder Dewayne Wise.

The Jays have recieved another option year on RHP Dustin McGowan meaning he does not have to be carried on the MLB roster. This means he will likely join the AAA rotation to start the season unless he breaks camp out of ST. This is a special injury thing since he missed over a year due to Tommy John surgery and recovery.

As far as I know they didn't get the same on RHP Francisco Rosario who also lost development time due to Tommy John surgery but he lost less time.

Also as it seems right now if the Jays don't sign a low risk/high reward guy to fill the 3rd or 4th spot such as Tony Armas Jr or Tomo Ohka which are the latest rumored targets. Then it now seems more likely that Josh Towers will win the 5th spot in the rotation with Shaun Marcum taking the 4th. Casey Janssen and Dustin McGowan would then join the AAA rotation for Syracuse.

Looking at the Jays non-roster invitees list, it appears they re-signed Brian Wolfe to a minor league contract unless he's just an unsigned player invited to spring training

I found confirmation on Wolfe. He was re-signed to a minor league deal by the Jays on Oct. 6th

Would you say that the chances are way less than 25% that the hex id's will be corrected in order for the rosters to be transferred to the ps2.When your next set comes out? Thank you. Dowie

White Sox GM Ken Williams is confident that Juan Uribe will put his legal troubles behind him and report to spring training on time.

Free agent Karim Garcia has agreed to terms with the Phillies on a minor league deal, according to his agent.

Johan Santana can kick in a no-trade clause for 2008 by finishing in the top three in AL Cy Young balloting again this season.

Jason Johnson has reportedly agreed to terms with the Seibu Lions of Japan on a one-year, $3 million contract.

Blue Jays agreed to terms with RHP Jason Frasor on a one-year, $825,000 contract.

The Blue Jays have reportedly come to terms with free agent John Thomson on a one-year, $500,000 contract.

Blue Jays designated infielder Rob Cosby for assignment.

What these means as far as Jays lineups:

- John Thomson becomes the #3 starter bumping Chacin and Marcum to 4 and 5 respectively

- Josh Towers goes back to AAA

- Either Vermilyea or Gonzalez get bumped to AA

- I'd put Wolfe back in A

I'd say that the chances are way more than 25%.

The next set will be made available asap. My guess would be in late January depending on how much free time Iget on my hands over the weekend and next week.

I'm sorry I did that to the rosters ps2 users

and it didn't make any difference to freezing problems in the end anyway :alright:

Worrell retires (Rotoworld)

Giants announced the retirement of RHP Tim Worrell.

It's good news for the Giants that they'll get out of paying him an additional $2 million after GM Brian Sabean burdened the organization with his two-year, $4 million contract last winter. Worrell had a 7.52 ERA in 20 1/3 innings before undergoing shoulder surgery last year. The 39-year-old was expected to be ready for spring training, but he's chosen to call it a career rather than continue his rehab. The Giants could redirect his money into a proposal for another reliever.

Jays are close to signing 1B Lyle Overbay to a three-year extension. He's eligible for arbitration and the Jays want to lock him up to a deal before then.

The Jays could try signing him for about $21 million for three years or $30 million for four.
