So is there going to be a list of cyberface ids released this time? or are we still using that childish tactic of not publicly releasing the face numbers in an attempt to obstruct other roster makers?

Looks like we're still using the childish tactic

Looks like we're gonna get more practices each week now to prepare for spring training here in Sweden and that means I'll have WAY less time on my hands. I don't know to what extent yet but I count on some of my true powerusers to step up and deliver some help when the situation calls for it.

I'll keep you posted

Well, that's absolutely pathetic, the whole reason I started the player id system for portraits and audio two years ago was to have a 'universal' open system that could be easily transposed across any and all rosters so there wouldn't have to be different portrait sets for different rosters.

Taking Big Schmooz's models.big system and manipulating the release and numbering in a attempt to obstruct other roster makers and those making their own personal rosters is really really lame and 'breaks' the system.

So what are other roster makers meant to do, create another models.big just for their roster?

I don't see how that would be of any benefit to the community at all.

Pirates signed infielder Nick Green to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

Twins signed catcher-first baseman Matthew LeCroy to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

The Pirates and Braves have agreed in principal on a deal swapping Mike Gonzalez and Adam LaRoche. The reported deal would also involve each team chipping in a prospect, though no names have been mentioned. The deal makes Salomon Torres the Pirates' primary closer.

Blue Jays signed catcher Sal Fasano to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

Fasano could be an upgrade over Jason Phillips as the backup for Gregg Zaun, but he'll likely be assigned to Triple-A, where he'll share time with prospect Curtis Thigpen.

Mariners agreed to terms with RHP J.J. Putz on a three-year contract with a club option for 2010.

According to MLB.com, the Rangers and Sammy Sosa have agreed in principal to a minor league contract.

Sosa will only be guaranteed $500,000 if he makes the team, though he could command substantially more in incentives.

Brewers agreed to terms with LHP Chris Capuano on a one-year, $3.25 million contract.

Exactly, it's not like I have a life outside MVPmods. I live and breath MVPmods and the UR-project is the reason why I get up in the morning. When chicks ask me what I do for a living, I tell them that I'm the great Tottmeister, a cyborg sent back in time to completely change the way MVP 2005 rosters are modded :)

The Beaver County Times reports that the Braves will acquire Mike Gonzalez and Brent Lillibridge from the Pirates for Adam LaRoche and Jamie Romak.

The 21-year-old Romak is a long shot, but the pickup is still noticable given that he's everything that the Pirates typically don't look for in an outfield prospect. He hit .247/.369/.471 for low Single-A Rome last season and has little in the way of speed. Lillibridge is the clearly superior talent, though it's up for debate whether he'll make it as a regular shortstop. The 23-year-old hit .305/.419/.480 with 53 steals while splitting 2006 between A-ball teams. With the Braves getting a second useful part, this looks like a fair deal for both teams. We're not optimistic LaRoche will stay at his 2006 level of performance, but we also have doubts about Gonzalez ever turning into a guy who can be counted on for 65-70 innings per season. The trade is expected to be officially announced on Thursday or Friday.

Excellent trade for the Braves in my opinion. They can afford to lose a decent bat to bolster up their pen. They are slowly bringing themselves back to form but I wonder how long the original core can bring the goods.

Yeah, pretty much...I mean it's up to each individual to decide but what you're suggesting is a solution.

Washington is set to sign 2B Tony Womack to a minor league deal

San Diego has made an incentive-laden offer to David Wells and will continue negociating with him until the end of the week. If they don't come to an agreement by then they will move on and probably go after Jeff Weaver.

Braves agreed to terms with first baseman-outfielder Craig Wilson, who had been with the Pirates, on a one-year, $2 million deal.

--Wilson will probably platoon with Scott Thorman against left-handed pitchers, but should Thorman not hit well, he can be easily moved into a starter role - this move combined with the Adam LaRoche deal definitely improves the Braves.

As much as I hate the Braves, picking up Craig Wilson after trading LaRoche was a damn good move. Their bullpen is going to possibly be among the best in the majors.

And why would anyone sign Tony Womack? This guy is terrible. Nationals are in bigger troulbe if thats the best they can sign, even if its just a minor league deal.

Just imagine: "Well, they are fast speedy vets, so lets just put Tony Womack and Cristian Guzman as our 1-2 in our lineup".. Two of the quickest, easiest outs in baseball.
