Why Prior as the 5th starter? I know Zambrano's been called to start the first game but shouldn't Prior be 2nd?

It's not 100% sure Prior will be ready for opening day. His rehab from injury is going well however. Prior has been throwing off the mound for a couple weeks but they won't know any more until spring. If you want you could put Prior as the #2 and start Miller at AAA. That would work as well.

I'll go with Prior in the 2nd spot :)

In the same vein, here is what I think the Mets opening day lineup is going to be:

Jose Reyes - SS

Paul Lo Duca - C

Carlos Beltran - CF

Carlos Delgado - 1B

David Wright - 3B

Moises Alou - LF

Shawn Green - RF

Jose Valentin - 2B

Tom Glavine - SP

Orlando Hernandez - SP

John Maine - SP

Oliver Perez - SP

Phillip Humber - SP

Pedro is out until August, so whatever you do there...

CP - Billy Wagner

SUP - Aaron Heilman

SUP - Duaner Sanchez

MRP - Juan Padilla

MRP - Pedro Feliciano

MRP - John Adkins

LRP - Dave Williams/Scott Schoneweis (sp?)

Thanks bro.

I haven't had time to look at the mep's yet as I've been out of the house all afternoon/night.

I did however add the Blue Jays mep's from cybernetic this morning :wtg:

Just a couple of tidbits from Rotoword on lineups:

PIT - Jim Tracy has "no intention" of taking Jack Wilson out of the #2 spot in the lineup. Media type guys have said that Wilson hinders the Pirates offense in that spot but it appears that Tracy doesn't hold that belief.

CWS - Ken Williams and the White Sox are confident that Juan Uribe could be there for spring training as the man who fingered Uribe in the alleged gun firing incident failed to show up in court. Originally, it was thought that Uribe could miss most, if not all, of the season as court proceedings went on in the Domincan Republic.

Joining in on the fun!

This is a COMPLETE rough draft, there's a lot of people fighting for spots (expecially the bullpen and CF) so nothing can be said as fact until after Spring Training. This is what I think will happen though.

Order

SS Hanley Ramirez

2B Dan Uggla

3B Miguel Cabrera

1B Mike Jacobs

LF Josh Willingham

RF Jeremy Hermida

CF Alex Sanchez

C Miguel Olivo

Bench

UTIL Alfredo Amezaga

IF Aaron Boone

OF Eric Reed

OF Cody Ross

OF Joe Borchard

C Matt Treanor

SP

Dontrelle Willis

Scott Olsen

Josh Johnson

Anibal Sanchez

Ricky Nolasco

Bullpen

Yusmeiro Petit LRP

Renyel Pinto MRP

Henry Owens MRP

Kevin Gregg MRP

Carlos Martinez MRP (Might not be ready by the time the season starts [should be healthy sometime from April-June], but I think he'll be on the team once he's healthy. Also, he throws a two-seam fastball not ingame)

Closer

Taylor Tankersley

--I think it'll be Jacobs - Willingham - Hermida rather than Willingham - Jacobs - Hermida like it was at the end of last year because, because it would make the lineup Righty-Lefty-Righty-Lefty rather than R-R-L-L (And it was like that at the begining of last season, until Jacobs and Hermida got injured)

--Depending on the CF position, they might drop one (Borchard most likely) and call up Andino instead. Last year, due to OF being the weakest position, they had a lot of OF's called up. With CF still wide open, I see it happening again until CF is locked up. If the bullpen struggles again this year, they also might have an additional pitcher instead of Andino.

--What I currently seeing happening at CF: Sanchez in at the start of the games because of his offense and speed, and Reed in at the end of games. Reed is the best deffensive OF the Marlins have.

What they also might do is start Amezaga against RHP, and Sanchez against LHP.

--With a new manager coming in, Uggla might move into the middle of the lineup since he's more of a power hitter, and whoever wins the CF job might move up to the #2 slot. I really hope this doesn't happen, but with the tradional way to set a lineup being putting your two speedsters in the #1 and #2 spot, it could be likely if Sanchez wins the job (Since he's a 40+ SB, high BAA guy).

--Closer is currently listed as Tank on offical depths, but I'm positive that will change by the time the season starts.

EDIT:

Oh, also, I think Jeff Allison should be rmoved from Florida's farm system. Although he still is team property, he's been on the suspended list for awhile, is facing jail time, and looks like it's unlikely he'll be back in baseball, atleast not for awhile.

11/01/06, Alfonzo opted for minor league free agency.

11/15/06, Mets declined RHP Yusaku Iriki's $1.5 million option for 2007.

And it seems there are too many players in the Giants' organiztion.

These six-year free agents can be moved first if player cut is needed.

RHP Alfredo Simon

RHP R.D. Spiehs

RHP Brandon Villafuerte

1 error, 6 warnings.

This is where it stops for now as I'm going out to dinner with a friend.

What remains to be done is to create new players in the Phillies system and fix the lineups/rotations (the warnings) + clearing out the FA-list which is maxed out by about 100 players (the error).

I won't have time to do a Plus version today but you'll get a standard unless the rosters crash when I do my beta test later on tonight.
