Thanks for the birthday wishes people :)

I'm back from a dish with some grilled chicken and roasted potatoes. I'll get crackin on the Phillies in about 10 mins or so.

Happy Birthday

and does anyone really care about the Phillies? I mean really it's the Phillies

I care but that's mainly because one of my best friends is a Phillies fan :)

Enjoy the action guys!

• Transactions are up-to date as of January 28th (4 pm ET)

• Updated 2006 MLB and in some cases MiLB player stats (thanks to Tony3 and Hory).

• Edited tons of stuff you guys have been sending me and posting in the forums.

• Plus the usual minor tweaks here and there to improve your gameplay even further (ratings, appearances etc.)

I want you to know that this update wouldn't have been done in the near future if it weren't for you guys. The posts and dirty work you do to pull up transactions and scouting reports are invaluable for me. Thanks :hail:

Please try out the rosters in every aspect of the game and get back to me with feedback in the next couple of days because I need to have a complete roster set done by Friday to hand over to kraw for the 07 Mod.

The Plus edition will be made available next weekend. Don't know about console versions yet and asking questions won't make them come knocking on your door faster.

I think that's all for know... :D

Luis Villarreal - Signed by the Milwaukee Brewers to a minor league contract

J.D. Reininger - Signed by the Washington Nationals to a minor league contract

Villarreal has been in independent ball the past few years

Reininger was in the Cincinatti system for the past 2 and half years before being released mid last season

Villarreal played two season of affiliated ball in 2002 and 2003. He then went to the Frontier League for about 3/4 of a season before moving to the Northern League. He has been in the Northern League for the last part of 2004 through last season.

Villarreal threw a no-hitter against the Kansas City T-Bones on August 6, 2005. That season he went 9-7 with a 3.86 ERA in 137.2 IP. He gave up 116 hits, walked 53, and struck out 106.

Last season, Villarreal led the Northern League in ERA (2.71) but only struck out 63 while walking 33 in 90 IP.

He's 27, so this could be his last chance to make a big league roster. While his ERA was nice, his strike out total declined and he didn't look as effective as he had in '04 and '05.

It's just my :twocents: but I'm not optimistic about Villarreal sticking in the system unless there are injuries at the minor league level. If he's spectacular in spring training, he might sniff AAA for a month - but more than likely he'll stick in the lower levels until being released.

While I'm on the subject, there are a couple of solid Northern League prospects that could impact a major league team this season:

Byron Embry (CL) - You might remember him from the Royals system a few years ago. Well, he got hurt and had to start over in the Independent Leagues. Embry is 100% now and was signed by Seattle to a minor league deal around August of last season. He pitched fantastically in San Antonio (AA) to end last season, striking out 20 in 11.2 innings (with just 4 walks and 8 hits). His fastball is high-90s caliber - usually 95-97, hitting 98-99 when he wants the strikeout; he also features a curveball in the 70s that he uses maybe twice an innning. He also has an average splitter that is about 90-93. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if he hit AAA this season and could even be called up if there are injuries to the Mariners relievers.

Greg Jacobs (OF) - Major league caliber outfield arm - can throw runners out from anywhere in the outfield. So much so that teams were afraid to run on him in the latter part of the season; he was named Northern League Defensive Player of the Year. Great plate discipline. Was on track early in his career but got suspended for violating the drug policy and was eventually released. He was signed this off-season by the Phillies and could very well make a splash this season. He has never hit under .300 in his professional career and has average speed.

Craig Hurba © - His bat is close enough to warrant a look by major league teams; and is probably a big factor in why Seattle signed him this offseason. It also didn't hurt that he was named a top Independent League prospect this offseason by Baseball America http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/minor...res/262661.html I'm not convinced with his defense at the major league level as he seems to wind up a bit too much when throwing to second. But if there's ever a brawl, you want him on your team as he is tough as hell (and showed it in a brawl this season). The word "makeup" is used a lot in scouting - well this guy has IT. And he's 25, so there's still time to develop his defense. Probably a minor league talent - but it's not a stretch to say he could get a cup of coffee at some point in his career.

Totte: if you want to add these guys, shoot me an email. I'll throw together the CAPs for you. IMO, all three are solid minor leaguers, with Embry being the closest to MLB-ready.

I downloaded UR 8.1 beta.

What I'm saying is, the actual rotation itself isn't filled out. The player is there, but not in the rotation.

Edit: The Marlins only have 3 starters and 21 players.
