DoubleD
Thanks a lot Totte! Just a quick correction that I saw, Josh Hamilton was traded from the Cubs to the Reds for cash.
cybernetic
As soon as the plus version comes out I'll be starting an '07 dynasty
sfgiantsflgators
I downloaded UR 8.1 beta. What I'm saying is, the actual rotation itself isn't filled out. The player is there, but not in the rotation. Edit: The Marlins only have 3 starters and 21 players. I don't want to speak out of turn, but Totte mentioned that lineups and such won't be that accurate. I believe that this is more of a release to hold those wanting to play a bit over before the season actually starts and that there will be more of a focus on lineups and such as the opening day release nears. Totte: A very small change I suggest is to switch Fred Lewis (Giants) from RF/OF to LF/OF as he will be mainly LF from now on. As soon as the plus version comes out I'll be starting an '07 dynasty I think I'm going to wait for MVP '07 as the rumors are that it should be ready in the next couple weeks. Then again, rumors and a quarter will get you a gumball.

I believe that this is more of a release to hold those wanting to play a bit over before the season actually starts and that there will be more of a focus on lineups and such as the opening day release nears. I get that. What I mean is the rotations aren't filled. ie, the Marlins only have 3 in their rotation, instead of 5.
DoubleD
Dan Uggla also isn't in the game along with the pitchers, once you start a dynasty. I even tried doing a fantasy draft and they weren't there. The weird thing is, they show up no problem when you go into the rosters from the main menu, but disappear once you start a dynasty. DoubleD
The problem isn't justs looking at the roster, it's when you start a dynasty. Once you start a dynasty, the players just go missing.

Radagast33
There has to be an error in the roster file somewhere which is making the players disapeer. The old roster files work fine when restored over the new ones. I can't even start an exhibition game or a home run derby with the new rosters, the system just crashes. The Big O
Overall the O's organization looks pretty solid. I do have a few questions though regarding the ratings of a few minor league players that could be invited to the show. J.R House seems to be rated way too low for his stats. He's patient at the plate and hits for average. Also he has the worst arm in the minors and majors for throwing out runners yet he has a 12 rating. Here are his minor league stats: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st..._pbp&pid=407399 Jon Knott also seems to be rated low and has the wrong splits. The guy kills lefties and is OK vs. righties. His stats can be found below: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st..._pbp&pid=431160 Jason Franz in A ball has some strange ratings as well, he's got a 13/18 L/R split for HR percentage, I'm guessing that's a typo and should be 1 and 2. Also the following should be listed as top prospects: Billy Rowell, Pedro Beato, Nolan Reimold, Garrett Olson, Brandon Erbe, Jim Hoey, Brandon Synder and Radhames Liz. I'm not sure how you rate the minor leaguers as I know they have to develop, but Rowell is probably one of the best pure power prospects in the minors: Taken from CNNSI.com's top 75 minor league prospects: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/base...tiii/index.html 38. Bill Rowell, 18, 3b, Baltimore Orioles 2006 Stats (R/SS): .328/.415/.503, 3 SB in 195 AB If the 2006 June Draft were reheld today, Rowell would be the first high school position player drafted. This is validation for the Orioles, who did make him the first prep position player in the '06 draft, but have been among the worst organizations in the draft for more than 10 seasons. Rowell is a man-child of a teenager -- 6-foot-5, 205 pounds -- with room to fill out and power on the horizon. Once he adds enough muscle, scouts predict a slugger with amazing power potential. Rowell still has to shorten his swing some to be successful, and third base might not be his ultimate home, but projection outweighs reality here. And still, Rowell has proven it on the diamond -- after a rough 11-game start, the pride of New Jersey slugged .563 in his last 42 games. It's nice for the O's to have a top prospect in the minors with possible superstar status, that isn't a pitcher.

I even tried doing a fantasy draft and they weren't there. The weird thing is, they show up no problem when you go into the rosters from the main menu, but disappear once you start a dynasty. For Marlins, Uggla, Sanchez, Nolasco and Abercrombie are missing in a dynasty, 'cause they are regarded as Legends or Heros in this version. To solve this, you must check yes when asked the use of hidden players (Heros) on starting a dynasty. Sorry guys for all the trouble. (This has to be done in order to keep the Hex IDs of Lengeds and Heros.) :alright: btw, The Big O, you can find out the minor league stats for House and Knott in game, too. (take a look at the year-by-year career stats) Oh I know you can see the stats, it's just the ratings that Knott and House have for Power and Contact and HR % in particular don't match the stats that they put up. I know you guys are rating the lower minors lower but these guys are in their late 20's and might make the team so they should be rated higher IMO. Totte
While I'm on the subject, there are a couple of solid Northern League prospects that could impact a major league team this season: Byron Embry (CL) - You might remember him from the Royals system a few years ago. Well, he got hurt and had to start over in the Independent Leagues. Embry is 100% now and was signed by Seattle to a minor league deal around August of last season. He pitched fantastically in San Antonio (AA) to end last season, striking out 20 in 11.2 innings (with just 4 walks and 8 hits). His fastball is high-90s caliber - usually 95-97, hitting 98-99 when he wants the strikeout; he also features a curveball in the 70s that he uses maybe twice an innning. He also has an average splitter that is about 90-93. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if he hit AAA this season and could even be called up if there are injuries to the Mariners relievers. Greg Jacobs (OF) - Major league caliber outfield arm - can throw runners out from anywhere in the outfield. So much so that teams were afraid to run on him in the latter part of the season; he was named Northern League Defensive Player of the Year. Great plate discipline. Was on track early in his career but got suspended for violating the drug policy and was eventually released. He was signed this off-season by the Phillies and could very well make a splash this season. He has never hit under .300 in his professional career and has average speed. Craig Hurba © - His bat is close enough to warrant a look by major league teams; and is probably a big factor in why Seattle signed him this offseason. It also didn't hurt that he was named a top Independent League prospect this offseason by Baseball America http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/minor...res/262661.html I'm not convinced with his defense at the major league level as he seems to wind up a bit too much when throwing to second. But if there's ever a brawl, you want him on your team as he is tough as hell (and showed it in a brawl this season). The word "makeup" is used a lot in scouting - well this guy has IT. And he's 25, so there's still time to develop his defense. Probably a minor league talent - but it's not a stretch to say he could get a cup of coffee at some point in his career. Totte: if you want to add these guys, shoot me an email. I'll throw together the CAPs for you. IMO, all three are solid minor leaguers, with Embry being the closest to MLB-ready. I have both Embry and Jacobs in the rosters already but feel free to whip up a CAP/mep of Craig Hurba and send my way :wtg:

Also, Brewers info from Rotoworld: Geoff Jenkins could be moved back to left field if the Brewers don't trade him this spring. Jenkins moved to right two years ago to make room for Carlos Lee. "I felt Geoff was the best defensive left fielder in the league before we moved him," said manager Ned Yost. "Carlos isn't here anymore and we're trying to maximize our best possible defensive potential. Geoff was an average to above-average right fielder, but he was the best left fielder in the National League." A trade to free up the Milwaukee outfield logjam seems likely, but if the club enters the season with this group, Jenkins and Kevin Mench could be platooned in left, with Bill Hall in center and Corey Hart in right.
