MarkB
I'm curious as to what Mark thinks about where Hughes should begin the season. IMO, the Yankees should follow the Giants handling of Cain and be very slow with Hughes. That way, when he is called up to the big time, he is there to stay. I'd say AAA for most, if not all, of the first half of the season - then up for good after the break (maybe even until August). I think he should, and most likely will, start the year with Scranton. sfgiantsflgators
A little arbitration plus a touch of minor league hope - courtesy of Rotoworld: CHI: Cubs agreed to terms with RHP Mark Prior on a one-year, $3.575 million contract. He's taking a small cut in pay. Prior asked for a raise from $3.65 million to $3.875 million in his second year of arbitration. The Cubs offered him $3.4 million. Prior will contend for a rotation spot this spring after spending the winter attempting to strengthen his right shoulder. MIL: Brewers agreed to terms with RHP Jose Capellan, OF Drew Anderson, 2B Hernan Iribarren, RHP Mike Jones and LHP Manny Parra on one-year contracts. Capellan, who will help set up Francisco Cordero, is the only player here likely to have a spot on this year's roster. Anderson spent some time with the Brewers at the end of last season, but there's no way he's going to break into such a crowded outfield this spring. cybernetic
Zambrano is expected to start April in the Syracuse rotation and and continue his rehab before coming up to play for the Jays (according to Rotoworld) Mets sign Ruben Sierra to a minor league contract, outright RP Jason Strandridge to Norfolk (AAA) and SP Dave Williams underwent neck surgery and could miss the start of the season. They'll have a better idea next week how much time he'll miss.
sfgiantsflgators
Thanks sfgiantsflgators anything i can do to help - you're the one doing all the work. :wtg: and a quick add-on to cybernetic's post: Rotoworld expects Ruben Sierra to spend most of the season in AAA as injury protection and to be an additional bat come September. kgbaseball
They'll all be updated for sure on mlb.com before Opening Day. As for other sites, I imagine they get most of their info from mlb.com, so I'm not sure there's any sites with updated numbers. A lot of the new players' numbers haven't even been announced yet. sfgiantsflgators
Does anyone know how often uni #s are updated on mlb.com, or ANY site where I can see updated #s?! except for the established major league talent (namely veterans), numbers aren't really set until spring training gets under way - especially for the newly traded or signed. so, until march, there won't be "set" numbers available. cybernetic
Actually once spring training starts they'll assign numbers they should all have numbers before the end of S.T.
skibz
hey totte, just to let you know, Julio Lugos' # on the red sox is still 3. kaplerisking
hmmmm...maybe I'm doing something wrong with the installation, but a lot of the minor leaguers (at least in the Red Sox organization) are listed as 29-30 years old, and there is no way to edit that within the game. A few of the more recent Sox draft picks are also missing from their minor league system, but thats not a big deal.

As for recent Sox draft picks, I assume you're talking about guys like Bard, Phillips and Anderson? I plan on adding them but the rosters are really packed at the moment with ST-invites that I'm waiting for to get cut :)

Totte
RP Jason Standridge refused his minor league assignment from the Mets and has become a free agent Oakland signed OF Ricky Ledee to a minor league contract I'm sure Standridge won't have to wait long for a ST invite from another team. He adds good depth to any organisation :wtg: I like the Ricky signing for the A's even though I highly doubt if Ledee will get any MLB action this year. He's a solid AAA player though and I'm sure he'll provide sweet numbers earning him the promotion if someone in the big club gets injured.

I'm addicted to MVPmods :priest: I agree - probably a good thing. My day basically consists of writing a release or working on a media guide, with a break every 15 minutes or so to check Rotoworld and the other transaction sites - so it's probably good that there's not many on to get into conversations with. How far ahead are you anyway? It's about 7:30am here.

But yeah...Pedroia is listed as 29, Gabbard is 29, Lester is 30! Must be something I'm doing wrong or an issue with my game then, though I just did a reinstallation of the whole thing....I'll try installing the rosters again and see what happens.
