Totte
Honestly, no offense to you Totte, I don't understand how you determine what their deliveries and stances look like. Please explain though, I'm quite curious. I get some info from the BA Handbook but mostly I look at pictures of the player in action and try to determine a pitching delivery. Sometimes I even use Youtube...
Totte
Hello all, It's been awhile since I visited this site. I saw that the rosters thread(this one) has been bumped. I was wondering has Kraw gone back to updating rosters for the PS2 users with max Drive etc etc? I heard his PS2 got fired months ago and I haven't been up to date and was wondering. My apologizes if this is the incorrect section to post my inquiry under. Thanks. OriolesfanRD:) Yes he's gone back to updating the rosters but there are no new version as of now. Check back in 1-2 weeks and hopefully your prayers will have been answered

skibz
I get some info from the BA Handbook but mostly I look at pictures of the player in action and try to determine a pitching delivery. Sometimes I even use Youtube... Oh I see. That's pretty spiffy. I'm not trying to start anything but I think kgbaseball's rosters had some very accurate stances and deliveries. For instance, Frank Thomas no longer stands up straight and does in fact crouch. You know, I'm just a very big perfectionist when it comes to accuracy. The visuals I can really tell because I notice a lot of the smaller details. I'm the same way in Madden when it comes to facemasks. Just to let you know. Totte
When will the new, Plus, rosters be available? Thank you for yur work! Bye I'm sorry but I couldn't post them last night. My ex-girlfirend called me last night and I haven't spoken to her in about 2 years. She'd just broken up with her boyfriend and apparently needed to talk. It was kinda late so I just went to bed after the conversation ended. Sorry you guys had to suffer from her miserable love life. I'll try and post them asap but it's not gonna be 'til later tonight as I'm working now and heading straight to practice afterwards. Again, I'm sorry... sfgiantsflgators
Rotoworld weekend recap: BOS: Jonathan Papelbon expects to use his sinking fastball a lot more often now that he's going back into the rotation. Papelbon primarily focused on his four-seam fastball and splitter as a closer, though he did mix in the occasional slider. "I've thrown a couple of [bullpen sessions] and I was throwing a lot of two-seam fastballs," he said. "It felt so good to throw that pitch again. I remember the last time I threw it was one of my last starts in spring training, when I pitched six innings against the Yankees and I threw it pretty well. I have a curveball, you know, that I can maybe throw once in a while and get guys to offer. I'm happy with my split. It's just a matter of going out there and gaining the confidence against major league hitters." A return to the bullpen for Papelbon hasn't been completely ruled out, but it's not expected to happen this spring. MIL: Corey Koskie still hasn't been cleared to resume baseball activities due to the lingering symptoms of post-concussion syndrome. His status for Opening Day and the entire season is in question. "There's really been no change," said assistant GM Gord Ash, who oversees the Brewers' medical program. "Sitting here, two weeks from the start of spring training, we can't say he'll be ready to play. We really won't know much until we see him and see what he can and can't do." All indications are that the Brewers will go with Craig Counsell and Tony Graffanino at third base if Koskie isn't ready. It'd seemingly make more sense to use Bill Hall there, but the Brewers seem set on leaving him in the outfield. Part of their reasoning is that top prospect Ryan Braun could be ready at some point during the season. PIT: While he's not giving up catching just yet, Neil Walker is expected to see time at third base and in the outfield this spring. Walker, a 2004 first-round pick, has a long way to go both offensively and defensively, and he might have more luck with the former if he's moved to an easier position. That Ronny Paulino has stepped up and establised himself as a potential long-term catcher only makes the Pirates' decision easier. It'd be no surprise if Walker, who is expected to be assigned to Double-A Altoona, is a full-time third baseman by the end of the year. Only a couple weeks from the start of ST... EDIT: I didn't see the dollar figure mentioned in the Dan Kolb/Pirates signing - $1.25 mil if he makes the roster out of spring training.

sfgiantsflgators
Move that may or not make any difference this season (depending on when Guardado returns and how the Reds are sitting in the playoff race): CIN: Reds re-signed LHP Eddie Guardado to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training. The deal was essentially done weeks ago. Guardado isn't expected back from Tommy John surgery before June or July at the earliest and may not help at all this year. If he is added to the major league roster, he would get a $500,000 contract and the chance to make about $1.4 million in roster bonuses and $1.2 million in performance bonuses. Cincinnati would have a 2008 option that ranges from $3 million to $7 million, depending on how much he pitches this year. Think this has been reported already - but it was made official today. sfgiantsflgators
Unclaimed, but not unwanted: PIT: Pirates sent RHP Franquelis Osoria outright to Triple-A Nashville. We think there's a pretty realistic chance that Osoria would outpitch Dan Kolb this year, but no one wanted him off waivers. He'll report to spring training as a non-roster player. sfgiantsflgators
More Rotoworld: MIL: Brewers agreed to terms with outfielder Bill Hall on a four-year, $24 million contract with a club option for 2011. That's the dollar figure we were expecting. The Brewers buy out Hall's first year of free agency with the deal. He gets a $500,000 signing bonus, $3 million this year, $4.8 million in 2008, $6.8 million in 2009 and $8.4 million in 2010. The 2011 option, covering his second year of free agency, is worth $9.25 million and includes a $500,000 buyout. The 27-year-old Hall is expected to move to center field this year after spending most of last season at shortstop. Free agent Rick Helling says he is retiring in order to spend more time with his family. Helling had been effective in limited action for the Brewers the last two years, amassing a 3.11 ERA in nine starts and 26 relief appearances. The 36-year-old finishes his career 93-81 with a 4.68 ERA in 234 starts and 67 relief appearances over 12 seasons. His best season was 1998, when he went 20-7 with a 4.41 ERA and 164 strikeouts for the Rangers. PIT: Pirates signed RHP Serguey Linares to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training. Linares, who is listed as 23, is a Cuban defector with a big fastball and little else. He had a career record of 7-20 with a 5.59 ERA in 37 games as a pro in Cuba. While he's getting an invitation to spring training, he probably won't open the year higher than Double-A.
