Guys,

Totte was having some trouble updating the standard edition file and I've been unable to correct the problem, so I'll PM Trues and ask him to take a look. The file and description has updated, but it's not showing on the front page as updated. You can download the new edition, 8.1, of the standard edition from here.

We'll get it sorted ASAP.

thanks

Nice work but Bernie is still on the Yankees he should be a free agent. He won't be back next season

actually, there's a minor league contract offer from the Yankees on the table that Williams is currently deciding on. Williams wants a major league contract, so that's the hold-up.

the latest from Rotoworld:

Agent Scott Boras said yesterday that free agent Bernie Williams has standing offers from other clubs if he decides to pass on the Yankees' minor league contract proposal.

Boras spoke with Williams numerous times last week and again yesterday. It sounds like Williams is still holding out hope of a major league contract from the Bombers. "I think it's a situation where, collectively, we're trying to look at this thing a number of different ways," Boras said. "In the end, the Yankees as a family will have to make a decision about Bernie."

My game is crashing as well (standard edition 8.1). I recopied with 8.0 and everything is back to normal... Hopefully the file will be fixed soon (I hope it's not just my computer), but I still would like to thank Totte for his hard work, I REALLY appreciate it; I wouldn't still be playing MVP if it weren't for him.

Yeah, I seem to be crashing as well whenever I try to play a game and I am using up to date models. The rosters, though, look amazing! All of the minor league affiliates are up to date. Thanks Totte and everyone else involved in this projet for everything!

For those with crashing problems, Totte posted this after uploading the rosters:

Note: The correct models.big download for the Plus version by big shmooz will be available sometime soon. He's waiting for a couple of cyberface modders to complete certain WIP's.

I'm not an expert, but I assume that once the new models.big is uploaded, the plus will work.

I can't wait for the models.big to come out, because until then I can't play. :(

More work, sorry Totte :p

Chad Cordero and Aaron Harang still need upgrades, especially Harang considering the numbers he put up at the GABP last season.

Joel Pineiro, Julian Tavarez, Mike Timlin and Brendan Donnelly are the possibilities to open the season as Boston's closer, according to manager Terry Francona.

Ricky Nolasco is one of four prime candidates to open the season as the Marlins' closer, GM Larry Beinfest said.

Dodgers manager Grady Little said he has abandoned thoughs of having Russell Martin bat second between Juan Pierre and Rafael Furcal.

Because the declining Luis Gonzalez isn't going to be disrepected by being dropped to the sixth spot in the lineup. Little says Pierre and Furcal will definitely be the first and second hitters, though he hasn't decided on the order yet. They'll be followed by Nomar Garciaparra, Jeff Kent and Gonzalez. We didn't see Little following though with the idea of batting Martin second anyway, so this doesn't change the catcher's value at all.

Mariners acquired outfielder Jeff Frazier from the Tigers for RHP Yorman Bazardo.

Tigers designated RHP Preston Larrison for assignment.

Orioles agreed to terms with LHP Brian Burres, RHP Jim Hoey, RHP Jim Johnson, SS Luis Hernandez, OF Jeff Fiorentino and C Adam Donachie on one-year contracts.

Pirates agreed to terms with second baseman Jose Castillo on a one-year, $1.9 million contract.

He's set to battle Jose Bautista for a starting job this spring.

Brett Myers said he currently weighs 218 pounds, down from 250 at the end of last season.

Also, I'll talk to MarkB about the 06 draftees; some of them, such as Chamberlain and Betances, have quickly become top prospects.

Rosters look great! Couple things with my Brewers.

Yovani Gallardo will be starting at AAA this season (not A), he's also a beast (1.63 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, 85ks, 28BB, in 77.1 innings in AA last year).

Corey Hart will be in the bigs and starting in right field, with JD Closser starting in AAA.

I'm assuming batting order and all that will be finalized later, but great work so far, I can't wait for spring training.

Totte, few things on the Mets:

Nick Evans shouldn't be in AA, he will be in A+ St. Lucie this season.

Phillip Humber's best pitch is his curveball, which should be rated higher then it is.

Deolis Guerra and Joshua Stinson will be opening this year in St. Lucie (I believe they were in my St. Lucie mep file I sent you).

More later, as it is 2:50am over here.

That's why I'd like to keep Bernie with the Yanks at this point as he's more likely to retire than signing with any other team.

Exactly. Once the missing cyberfaces are completed, he'll upload it :)

It seems that mvplanet.com has been shut down; is there another place that I can download the Ultimate Rosters for PS2?

Didn't even know they were available at mvplanet.com...anyway, you can grab an older ps2 version over at www.eamods.com

I have an idea of what might be causing the crash...

Open up MVPedit, click Global Edit and then Check without filling out any criteria in order to count the amount of players in the rosters. The rosters say 3281 if I'm not mistaken. Try deleting 31 guys to decrease that total value to 3250. Should work like a charm then :)

I'll try and have an update out within the next couple of days with a fix and even deeper organisational rosters.

Sorry
