D-Unit
Here's a little I picked up on Juan Miranda, Totte. He's listed on MLB at #72 for now, and wears small wristbands on each arm. And for some reason, a lot of the Yankee minor leaguers have facial hair, inculding Miranda though there is a policy of no such facial hair. Miranda is clean shaven and also has a darker complexion than what is shown in your rosters, I suggest the darkest skin tone of 11 and generic face 914 or 915. Here's a pic of proof: http://images.sportsline.com/u/ap/photos/F...20_1024x768.jpg Edit: Ian Kennedy (A ball Yankees) looks better in generic face 905, and wears number 35 if you didn't have that already. skibz
hey totte, i don't know if this has been addressed yet but alex gordon, the projected KC 3B this season has the wrong cyberface (black face) with white body. Just thought I'd let you know. Also, Jason Schmidt's delivery is very jerky for Josh Beckett if you've ever seen him pitch, it's very fluid like Glavine's delivery. Try it out and play it with a pitcher's view. It looks almost identical to his real life delivery.

I'd already updated Miranda with the changes you noted from that picture, but thanks. I checked out your comment about the minor leaguers having facial hair, and I don't know why you're seeing that - it may be due to the models.big file you're using, as only Humberto Sanchez, Brian Bruney and Aarom Baldaris had facial hair in the last release of the S.E. rosters, which has since been removed. Juan Miranda does not have facial hair in the rosters. If you're seeing that he, and others, have facial hair in-game, it's due to another file, it's definitely not the rosters. Also, please e-mail any Yankees-related suggestions or changes to me. I don't always keep 100% up-to-date with this thread, but I'm guaranteed to see it in my e-mail. Thanks. :)

southside_hitmen
Some White sox news fromt he Chicago Tribune about battling for the #5 spot in the rotation: White Sox drive for a No. 5 starts here Candidates and options abound, with auditions for the last spot in the rotation about to begin By Mark Gonzales Tribune staff reporter Published February 25, 2007, 8:44 PM CST TUCSON, Ariz. -- The candidates for the fifth spot in the White Sox's rotation come in different shapes, sizes and styles. The Sox have plenty of options, including one in which they may choose not to have a fifth starter until at least the second week of the season. "Hopefully we have two or three guys pitching well to make this decision tough," pitching coach Don Cooper said. "That would be the best decision for our team and the organization. That means guys are doing well." With a wide spectrum of candidates and considerations, the choice of the fifth starter might be the Sox's final decision this spring. They could be leaning toward an 11-man staff, which would place a premium on flexibility and enable manager Ozzie Guillen to carry an extra position player. The ability of Nick Masset and Charlie Haeger to relieve as well as to start enhances their chances, especially with the Sox having three days off in the first 15 days of the regular season. With every candidate possessing minor-league options, the Sox could sculpt their rotation around what's best for them at the time rather than stick with the same fifth starter throughout the season, regardless of how well one performs. That would be a significant contrast to the last two years, in which the Sox used six starters in 2005 and seven in 2006. But the Sox also believe they have enough talent to avoid what happened in 2004. That year, Mark Buehrle, Freddy Garcia, Jon Garland, Esteban Loaiza, Jose Contreras and Scott Schoeneweis were a combined 57-43 with a 4.66 ERA. But the seven pitchers who made the remaining 25 starts were 5-15 with a 9.08 ERA. "Usually what's going to happen is they're going to pick themselves for us," Cooper said. "They're in competition with each other. They're in competition with themselves. "If they do what they feel they're capable of, it's going to take care of everything else. But making Ozzie feel comfortable is important." The competition starts with Monday's intrasquad game, in which three of the seven candidates are scheduled to pitch: The favorite Gavin Floyd (1082/3 innings, 19 major-league starts) has the most experience, and the revival of his curveball was one of the factors that convinced general manager Ken Williams to acquire him from Philadelphia. Floyd's inconsistency frustrated the Phillies the last three seasons, but he has made strides this spring by accelerating his tempo. Floyd will start Monday's intrasquad game. The swingmen Masset might be too valuable to take out of the bullpen, although Cooper said Masset will get some work pitching multiple innings. Haeger, a knuckleballer, offers more flexibility. Masset and Haeger reached the majors last year and are eager to land a job in any role. The left-handers John Danks was Texas' top-ranked prospect by Baseball America. Gio Gonzalez was ranked second with Philadelphia before he was dealt with Floyd for Garcia. Heath Phillips, who won 13 games with a 2.96 ERA at Triple-A Charlotte last season, has impressed with his control, which compensates for his lack of an overpowering fastball. Phillips has been described as a younger version of Buehrle. But his low walk total (39 in 155 innings) and build (6 feet 3 inches, 235 pounds) are more reminiscent of David Wells. Neither Danks nor Gonzalez is on the 40-man roster, nor has either spent a full season in Triple A. But last spring Boone Logan vaulted from Class A to the Opening Day roster as a left-handed reliever. "Anything is possible," Cooper said. Home-grown kid Lance Broadway, the Sox's first-round pick in 2005, has impressed Williams with his two-seam fastball and control. Despite the lack of an overpowering fastball, Broadway, 23, struck out 11 in six innings in Game 4 of the International League playoffs against Toledo. The deep list of candidates means the Sox's options could last into the second week of the season and set the tone for a revolving door of fifth starters. "We'll see how it goes," Cooper said, referring to the early days off and the health of Opening Day starter Contreras. "We can bring Jose back on five days' rest, or give Jose an extra day and insert Jose prior to the [fifth starter]." What to get from it: Heath Phillips (AAA) - needs to drop the velocity on his fastball a few ticks to 90-91 intstead of 93, but up his control a bit on his pitches. Lance Broadway (AA) - needs a two-seam fastball, his current fastball is listed at 90 in the game, so maybe 87-88 would be good for it. Also a slight bump in control would be good. I would say Floyd at the #5 spot is good for now (already in rosters) with Massett or Haeger as the long reliever. Also, indications are that Josh Fields will start the season at AAA, as he is only getting 20% of his reps in the outfield in the spring. Guillen wants him to play every day, and that means AAA. Pablo Ozuna needs to be on the MLB roster, as he will probably be the leadoff hitter on opening day against the left handed Sabathia while starting in left field. He is also the utility player for the Sox and the 4th outfielder until Podsednik comes back from injury. Once again Fields out for now, Ozuna in. HCaray
Just some minor tweaks for the Cubs: Cliff Floyd= #15 Felix Pie=#17 Aramis Ramirez, Matt Murton, and Jacque Jones: should all have 1 handed swings. Matt Murton should have: White shin guard. Michael Barrett should have: Low socks, and no shin guard. Carlos Zambrano should have: regular pants, not low. Micheal Weurtz doesn't throw a Curveball, he throws a hard breaking slider. This is just a hope: I'm not sure if you do this, but Rich Hill doesn't have a cyberface, and no one will make his, and I've searched every player in the game; can you give him Brad Halsey's cyberface( it looks exactly right)? DustinTheWin
Would you believe there are people in the Sox organization that say pitcher Clay Buchholz, a former wide receiver, is even faster than Ellsbury? southside_hitmen
White Sox Quick fix: Nick Massett (MLB) - does not throw a knuckleball? not sure where that came from. Does throw a hard slider though. From rotoworld: Masset couldn't distinguish himself as a starting pitcher, but a move to the bullpen at the end of June made a huge difference in his status as a prospect. He continued to catch the eyes of White Sox scouts while finishing with 15 saves and a 22/2 K/BB ratio in 20 2/3 innings in the Mexican Pacific League over the winter and was a key part of the Brandon McCarthy-John Danks trade in December. Masset's fastball is up to the mid-90s as a reliever and he can get strikeouts with a hard slider. The White Sox are expected to carry him as a middle reliever this year, and he could be a setup man or a closer in time.

mkharsh33
From Cleveland Plain Dealer: Paul Byrd, experimenting with a split-finger fastball, used it Thursday in the Tribe's 13-2 victory over Houston. Byrd pitched two scoreless innings. Atlanta's John Smoltz, a neighbor of Byrd's in Alpharetta, Ga., showed him the splitter during the off-season. Tribe pitching coach Carl Willis threw the splitter during his career as well. "I'm excited," said Byrd. "It has potential. . . . I just want to see if it can be a legitimate pitch for me." Byrd struck out lefty Luke Scott in the fourth with a splitter. He bounced the first four he threw. Byrd is looking for a pitch to help him against lefties. Lefties hit .369 (128-for-347) against Byrd last year.
