Arizona traded Jorge Julio to Florida Y. Petit

Didn't see that one happen! Good move for both clubs. FLA needs a closer and ARI needs to rebuild their young pitching after trading for Randy Johnson and Livan Hernandez.

I think he pitches more of a 3/4 than submarine, IMO I think it's fine the way it is.

I'd say he's below sidearm but above submarine. He also gets his whole body low on the mound when he delivers. I suggest Byung-Hyun Kim's delivery.

Jays notes:

Josh Towers cemented his rotation spot as the 5th starter with a very strong outing today going 6 innings, allowing just 1 unearned run on a total of 3 hits. He walked one and struck out 5. His spring ERA dropped to 3.20.

Shaun Marcum threw two scoreless frames lowering his spring ERA to 4.85.

Brian Tallet allowed a run in an inning of work keeping with his spring ERA of 9.00. With his struggles this spring, he'll likely not open the season in the bullpen. However, with League injured he may be carried as a 2nd lefty to go with Downs setting up B.J. Ryan.

Jordan De Jong pitched his second scoreless frame in a row.

Jeff Duncan got the lone RBI for the Jays in a 2-2 tie with Pittsburgh. Toronto started with mostly a AAA lineup, aside from Alex Rios who made his return to the lineup after missing the last 3-4 games after the death of his grandfather.

Totte, you plan on releasing the rosters on opening night (SUN.) or opening day??

That's a good question that I don't really have an answer to. I'm moving on Sunday and working on Saturday so only God knows how I'll find the time do to both. I've always said that the rosters would be out around and I'll stick to that fuzzy answer. Under the circumstances, I hope you understand that I can't give you a definite day :)

Did Fernando Tatis sign with the Dodgers or Mets? I'm getting different reports.

What about former Pirates IF Bobby Hill. Is he with the Cubs or Padres this year?

The Los Angeles Dodgers released third baseman Fernando Tatis on Wednesday — three days after he failed to report to their minor league camp

Thats all I know about the topic.

Guess he's with the Mets now then as that signing is dated to March 19th.

Indians info:

Matt Miller will miss "three to four weeks" with a strain of of his medial right forearm. The injury was originally thought to be a cramp, but when Miller couldn't throw Monday, he underwent an MRI which revealed the strain.

Manager Eric Wedge will replace Miller in the bullpen with right-hander Tom Mastny or left-hander Juan Lara. The decision is expected to be made Wednesday.

ANDY MARTE AT THIRD BASE has been above average in the field, decent at the plate. The trouble spot with Marte is the breaking stuff on the outside corner. Too often, he tries to pull outside pitches. If you want a high average, you'll be disappointed. But he has power, and if he's low in the order, he can be productive.

THEY MIGHT BE RIGHT on Jhonny Peralta pulling himself together at shortstop. The Indians decided to keep him at his natural position and work with him to improve his agility and tone up his body. So far, very good. At bat, the Indians have been working with him to hit more to right-center rather than pull the ball.

I think I remember Tatis being signed by the Mets after being released by the Dodgers.

And Bobby Hill failed his physical with the Cubs, I believe, so he's probably a free agent, as I haven't seen him sign with anyone else.

Jays notes:

Geremi Gonzalez made his first start of the season and pitched 3 scoreless innings. He allowed just 1 hit, didn't walk anyone and struck out 1. His spring ERA is now an even 3.00. He still has a shot at making the bullpen out of camp.

Francisco Rosario, Scott Downs and Jason Frasor each pitched a scorless inning today.

Casey Janssen pitched an inning and allowed the lone TB run of the day in a 1-0 loss. The run was unearned.

Brian Wolfe pitched another scoreless frame today and has allowed no runs in 8 outings. This likely means he'll begin the year in AA instead of High-A.

Beau Kemp pitched a scoreless frame and lowered his spring ERA to 8.44. His rough spring probably means he'll begin the year in AA instead of AAA where he's spent much of the last 3 seasons in the Minnesota system.

Reed Johnson and Frank Thomas each went 2-for-3 combining for 4 of the Jays 7 hits today. Sal Fasano had the lone extra base hit, a double.

Roy Halladay pitched 7 scoreless innings in a AAA game today.
