No I don't agree. Not until they prove they can hit at the MLB level.

If you find the Gordon face creepy, why don't you just change the face ID in MVPedit?

I thought the ratings were based on the assumptions how players would hit on the Major League level now. Not based on the assumption that they stink until proven otherwise. I would think that Hunter Pence has more power than David Eckstein and Endy Chavez NOW. I would never assume the contact points go higher so you're correct on that point. We have to be realistic on the power however.

I will use MVP edit to correct the face/body mismatches, I just would think that players projected in the starting lineup would have the same face color as their body and photograph lol. But thats just me.

Jays notes:

The Jays have opted to place SP John Thomson on the DL and still let him have a chance to make an impact on the team when he's back to 100% again.

SP A.J. Burnett made his final start of the spring pitching 7 shutout innings in a AAA game. He allowed 3 hits, 1 walk and struck out 9 batters.

OF Vernon Wells sat out today's game with shoulder stiffness. It is not considered serious and he should be ready for opening day.

RP Brian Tallet cleared waivers but since he is out of options has the decision to accept his minor league assignment or opt for free agency. He has yet to decide.

RP Geremi Gonzalez was re-assigned to minor league camp and is now out of the running for the big league bullpen. He will begin the year in AAA Syracuse.

SP/RP Shaun Marcum was scheduled to start to today but came down with a bit of a virus (undisclosed) so Scott Downs made the start today.

LF Reed Johnson went 2-for-3 leading off today with a solo home run. His spring average is now .435 for the spring.

RF/CF Alex Rios went 1-for-3 with a single and 2 stolen bases.

C Gregg Zaun went 2-for-3 raising his average to .262.

RP Scott Downs pitched a scoreless frame lowering his ERA to 2.70.

SP/RP Casey Janssen pitched a scoreless inning and struck out all 3 batters he faced (A-Rod, Matsui and Posada). His ERA dropped to 1.98.

RP Francisco Rosario pitched a scoreless frame as well with 1 strikeout. His spring ERA is now an even 3.00. With his strong spring performance he probably has made the bullpen unless he's traded.

SP Jason Scobie pitched 3 innings in his second appearance of the spring in big league camp. The lone blip on the radar for him was a solo home run to A-Rod. He'll probably begin the year in AA.

RP Danny Core threw an inning (his second appearance in big league camp) and got rocked. He gave up 4 runs on 4 hits and 1 walk, including a solo home run to Robinson Cano on the first pitch he threw. He'll probably repeat High-A ball.

RP Beau Kemp went 2 innings allowing a lone run on a Derek Jeter home run. He'll start in either AAA or AA.

LF/DH John-Ford Griffin hit his 2nd homer of the spring in MLB camp, a solo shot off Scott Proctor in the 8th inning today. After an injury-riddled season last year, he'll probably head to AAA again.

1B/3B Anthony Hatch got his first spring hit in big league camp in his 3rd at-bat. He got a clean single the other way off Proctor. He could begin the season as high as High-A after being in Low-A last season.

Updated rotation/bullpen:

4. Ohka

Sure, Pence has a lot of power potential but so far we've only seen it in spring training games against so-so pitching. I follow the same rating calculation for all minor league hitters that until they prove they can hit at the MLB level, their rating can't be higher than x value.

I agree but this has nothing to do with your rosters. Your probably running an updated version of UR 8.1 Plus right with the MVP07 mod installed? The 07 mod has a few mismatched cyberface ID's against that roster set.

You are a good man. :mwha:

Tigers Joel Zumaya 104

UH..............

I would wager that this list is made up of readings taken at the pitchers own ballpark.

I heard last season that they have the gun show about 2 mph faster when Zumaya is in (or maybe it is for all game). They said that the high reading gets the crowd into the game more and louder.

Anyway, my point is that probably all home stadium radar guns are geared up 1 or 2 mph in favor for their own guys.

I definitely know that was true for FOX's postseason coverage. They had Fernando Rodney (who I know throws hard, but 99?) and other guys that you wouldn't think of as flamethrowers (Loaiza) throwing pretty fast. I thought the guns added about 2 or 3 mph to some pitchers.

Chicago Cub Ryan Theriot is not only a backup infielder but also a backup outfielder. He's played a few games in right this spring. I can't remember if he has a second position on the rosters or not.

Marlins 25 man roster (Which includes people who will start the year on the DL and won't be out long, as IIRC, you do this).

Batting order (RHP)

SS Hanley Ramirez

2B Dan Uggla

3B Migel Cabrera

LF Josh Willingham

1B Mike Jacobs

RF Jeremy Hemida

C Miguel Olivo

CF Alejandro De Aza

Against LHP, it's likely Cody Ross will start in place of De Aza in CF. Aaron Boone will also see playing time at 1st against LHP, however he'll only become a full time start against LHP if Jacobs continues to struggle against them.

Bench

1B Aaron Boone (Should probably change his Primary from 3rd to 1st since that is what he'll be playing most this season)

SS Alfredo Amezaga

C Matt Treanor

OF Cody Ross

OF Joe Borchard

Starting Rotation:

Dontrelle Willis

Scott Olsen

Anibal Sanchez

Ricky Nolasco

Josh Johnson

Bullpen

LRP Renyel Pinto

LRP Sergio Mitre

MRP Kevin Gregg

MRP Henry Owens

MRP Matt Lindstrom

SU Taylor Tanksersley

CP Jorge Julio

He was listed as 2B/SS so I've put him at 2B/UTIL now.

Jays notes:

Victor Zambrano met his quota with six strong innings, allowing just 2 runs in a 6-2 victory over Cleveland today. He was a bit wild walking 4 batters but was still effective nonetheless. With this strong start he will probably be named the 5th starter by the end of the weekend.

Jason Frasor, Matt Roney and Jesse Carlson each threw a scoreless frame. Frasor will be the setup man for B.J. Ryan to start the season. His spring ERA is now 2.79. Roney and Carlson will probably head to AAA.

None of the regulars were in the starting line up today, only bench players Jason Phillips and Jason Smith were there. Both went 1-for-4.
