I don't think this will effect the rosters. Usually we don't send people to AAA unless their done for the year. However, the news out of Tiger town is that Kenny Rogers is done for 3 months. Just thought I would let you know.

You're right, I won't send Rogers down but thanks for the info.

BJ Upton (TB) started in CF today, so his 2nd position should be UTIL if it isn't already.

Ben Broussard (SEA) will see time in both corner OF spots, so 1B/OF should be his positions.

Upton was already listed as UTIL but I've fixed Broussard the way you mentioned.

anyone know when the xbox version might be done?

I'd say no later than Monday April 9th but I could be wrong.

It's always good to calculate the release day of the PC rosters (Monday) and then add a week to that.

An update on the Jays bullpen situation.. Francisco Rosario has been DFA to make room for Victor Zambrano on the 40-man roster. This means Jeremy Accardo has made the team in the MLB bullpen.

Just a small correction I messed up on in my previous post: Mike Jacobs will actually be hitting cleanup, with Willingham batting 5th.

Another correction is that De Aza won't be in a platoon in CF, he'll actually start against LHP, not Cody Ross.

Anyone have the TB Opening Day roster with the Cantu and McClung demotion?

EDIT: What about the Braves bullpen and rotation now that Davies was demoted?

I live in a suburb of Tampa...I can provide some updates for you (I'll know a little more tomorrow as well):

here are the relief pitchers for opening day:

Juan Salas, Jae Kuk Ryu, Shawn Camp, Brian Stokes, Al Reyes, Ruddy Lugo, and Gary Glover...(closer by committee)

...ugh.

ROTATION:

1. Scott Kazmir, LHP:

Paced the Rays staff with 10 wins last year, but that was a disappointment since he suffered a stiff shoulder in the second half and did not pitch much after the All-Star Game. When Kazmir is on, few pitchers in baseball are his equal.

2. James Shields, RHP:

Entering his second season with the Rays, Shields appears to be a quick learner. After starting 4-0 for the team in 2006, opposing hitters began to sit on his changeup -- which is his best pitch. He has since found better fastball command, which makes his changeup even more of a quality pitch.

3. Casey Fossum, LHP:

Fossum struggled with his health in 2006 and the difference could be seen on the nights he was healthy. He had left shoulder surgery in September and seems to have found the missing zip and movement to his fastball. He should make a successful return to the rotation.

4. Jae Seo, RHP:

Seo came to the Rays in a midseason trade with the Dodgers. He showed above-average competitiveness in 2006 and an ability to adjust, as a tweak to his delivery brought about an improvement of five mph to his fastball.

5. Edwin Jackson, RHP:

The right-hander enjoyed a good spring that saw him win a heated battle for the fifth spot in the rotation. Jackson split time as a starter and reliever in 2006 at both Triple-A Durham and with the Rays. Jackson has quality stuff, the Rays management believes he just needs a confidence boost to succeed.

Okay the Braves have gone in a totally different path than most of us had expected. Davies has been sent down to AAA, so Redman and Cormier will be in the rotation. My guess would be that Redman will move to the pen once Hampton returns. Cormier could also move there if he isn't having a stellar season and Davies could be called back up.

SP-Smoltz

SP-Hudson

SP-Hampton

SP-James

SP-Cormier

LRP-Redman

MRP-McBride

MRP-Paronto

MRP-Yates

SU-Soriano

SU-Gonzalez

CP-Wickman

Batting Order/Lineup:

2B-Johnson

SS-Renteria

3B-C. Jones

CF-A. Jones

C-McCann

RF-Francoeur

1B-Thorman

LF-Langerhans

P/DH

Bench:

1B-Wilson

C-Pena

2B-Orr

LF-Diaz(DH)

3B-Aybar

Aybar is on the DL curently. He will likely take Woodward's spot unless he needs some rehab for his wrist/hand.

I have Hampton in Villarreal's spot only because Yates had a better spring than Villy and he will likely see more action.

Cormier needs some raising of his ratings. He's had a great spring:

3-0 1.15ERA 15.2IP 2ER 13K (Not to mention that he shut down the Yankees in the 5 innings or so that he faced them) He has a good cut fastball and excellent curve. Stamina should be raised to high 70s to low 80s. I don't know much more than that as far as specifics, but I'll look into it.

This rotation to put on the roster really has me flustered because I don't see Davies staying at AAA for more than a few months at the most, and Hampton will be back in about a month, so the 4th and 5th spots are still extremely open. I'm not sure that Cormier can make a 165+ inning season either. Davies might be called up later to split rotation time with Cormier. Another possibility could be that Redman stay and Cormier goes to the pen. Smoltz, Hudson and James are the only guaranteed starters at this point.

In AAA, the rotation starts out with Davies, Lerew and Jonathan Johnson. Devine will close and Boyer is just at a MRP position.

Redman's number is 19.

Yeah I was gonna announce this... anyway some minor league transactions:

-INF Raul Tablado has been released. He was suspended all last season for using performance-enhancing drugs.

-C Kyle Phillips signed to a minor league deal. He'll probably be the in High-A (Dunedin)

Other guys in UR released:

-INF Scott Dragicevich

-INF Eric Arnold

-INF Trevor Lawhorn

-INF/OF Christian Snavely

You can make 2B Scott Campbell the starting 2B.. Yuber Rodriguez can be the 4th OF, Jacob Butler the 5th and make Joey Metropoulos the DH

OK, this is a bit tricky...

what you do first is download the following program: http://mvpmods.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=19322/

Now, start a new dynasty with the latest U.R.. Use the .dat extractor version of the program.

Go back to the dynasty you want to update, and use the importer with the new .dat files.

Hope that helps!

I was watching the Jyas vs. Yankees game and I noticed that Frank Thomas' stance doesn't relate to anything in the game, least of all his. I think the closest you could get would be generic #2 because of the foot movement.

Jays notes:

Josh Towers (named the 5th starter) had a strong outing. He went 6 scoreless innings against a Cincinnati split squad team. His line: 4 hits, no runs, 1 walk, 5K's.

Casey Janseen pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout.

Shaun Marcum pitched 2/3 of an inning (perfect).

Scott Downs pitched 1/3 of an inning allowing a double and recording a K.

BJ Ryan finally returned to action and looked strong in a save. He struck out 2 batters and allowed just 1 hit (a weird bouncer over the third baseman's head)

Alex Rios got the lone RBI (a single in the 4th) in a 1-0 win.
