Kraw and Totte, When I try to move the roster file over to the max drive it says that it is "write protected" and it can't be moved. I've never had this problem before. Any ideas? I unzipped it so it is in .max form so that's not the problem. Thanks Dowie

Smooz, I still have no clue what's happened to my game. My computer skills are limited too.

I've installed the updated models.big, but still the game won't load up. What could it be?

I'm thinking my only option is to reinstall the whole game. If I do this, is it possible to copy the files out of my saves folder and use them again? I don't want to lose my dynasties.

Yes, it is possible to save the dynasty save files.

Which models.big did you download, just wondering? I have a similiar problem, so it's just to try to figure out whats up.

I've tried them all actually, including the lite version. The one I want is KCcitystar's though.

I just have no clue what's going on. I've installed every other UR and models with no problem. I'm thinking it might have to do with some other file that was previously downloaded. I just don't know.

Yeah, I really don't want to reinstall because I've done so much to the game. The fellas that create this stuff are so good at what they do, I'd hate to lose it all. But I want to play the game too.

I'll wait and see what's going on. Let me know if you figure anything out

I have no idea. Anyone else know why? BigDom?

It doesn't have to be Photoshop that you use. But the better the program, the easier it'll be. You just need a 128x128 or 256x256 24-bit BMP of your image and an 8-bit greyscale alpha of that image. The next step would be MVPEdit or "Portrait Maker" to turn the two .bmp into a portrait file.

Yeah, you could use Paint though it'll have that sloppy-jagged look and it'll be more difficult to make sure it's the right size and all.

There are also free programs you could get that would be not quite on the level of Photoshop but much better than Paint. Paint.NET (link), for example. EDIT: Hm, looks like the last 'final' release of paint.net still doesn't save as an 8-bit yet.

Hey when I go to Edit Player and choose Lyle Overbay his glove is messed up looking. It's orange with shades of green in it. It doesn't freeze on that screen but I don't know if it will freeze in game or not. I haven't played with the Jays yet.

EDIT:

It doesn't freeze. Looks weird though.

Wheeler to replace Lidge as closer

Right-hander will instead be slotted in sixth or seventh inning

By Alyson Footer / MLB.com

Manager Phil Garner announced prior to Monday's series opener with the Chicago Cubs that Brad Lidge will not be closing games for the Astros in the foreseeable future.

"Brad will not be closing as a general rule," Garner said. "There may be a situation where it will be right to do it, but we'll probably pitch him earlier in the sixth or seventh inning."

Dan Wheeler will be the primary closer for the Astros.

So am I the only one noticing the strange glove color? I have noticed it on a few other players also and I'm wondering if it's my PS2 or not.

A definite mistake I saw was on Christopher Young of the Diamondbacks. When you go to him in Edit Player his name is fine but then when you select him his name just says C.

Jays changes:

This is now the lineup which is used against both left and right handers:

Johnson LF

Overbay 1B

Wells CF

Thomas DH

Glaus 3B

Rios RF

Hill 2B

Zaun C

Clayton SS

Jason Frasor is the lone setup man, move Downs to MR and put Zambrano up in LR

Alex Cintron should have Travis Hafner's stance (I think it's Kaz Matsui in-game)

E. Chavez switched back to his original stance, I suggest we just leave it as his original for now.

Ryan Theriot is a switch hitter.

If you're playing on console, I can't explain it.

On PC, it has to do with the download of fiedling gloves by theSpungo. If you don't have it, the texture shows up wrong...

Spungo's gloves are used from an added ID to the .fsh file which contains the gloves. This .fsh file doesn't exist on console versions so the best thing to do for consoles, Totte, is to assign all 1B a generic mitt that isn't the first base mitt used for the PC version.

On a side note Totte, be sure to change the socks for Alex Rodriguez, Kyle Farnsworth, and Brian Bruney from whatever settings they are now to High.
