Can anyone please respond to my previous XBox roster issue?

The game freezes immediately after the intro from Kuiper ... no matter what team or what mode.

I am using KG's 3.0 roster file.

Is there another file(s) that need to be loaded as well?

Thanks.

I'm sorry but I don't know and it's KG's roster download we're talking about. Have you tried sending him a PM or posting in his thread?

When I moved out into an apartment, it took a week 3-5 business days for internet to be activated. I live in Chicago, so I'm not sure how long it would take elsewhere. I don't think it should take 3-5 weeks.

Yeah it's really weird but here in Sweden it depends on what kind of connection you get. The 3-5 weeks one was 24 mbit through the regular phone outlet in the wall (don't know what it's called in the US). Anyway I just cancelled my order on that cuz it looks that I'll be able to get my connection from the Fiber LAN already in my building. 100 mbit at a cheaper price than the 24 mbit one + the fact that the ordering period is at the most 10 days :)

The second link is off the mlb site, click the Michael's solo tater link and there's Masset serving it up.

Nick Masset delivery is not submarine......which one it is.....I'll leave to the experts.

I set it to Mike Mussina just like KG. Don't know about you guys but I felt it was pretty close...

Transaction Update: The Phillies claimed infielder Michael Garciaparra off waivers from Seattle.

And a question - I thought there was supposed to be new ratings with UR 8.2, were the ratings already changed or are they going to be?

Thanks

That was actually the first time I've ever seen Masset throw, and I changed it from Mussina to 3/4 high kick. ;)

Haha, fair enough. 3/4 High Kick it is then :)

Some Jays notes (you don't really have to do anything):

RP Brandon League will be recalled from Syracuse (AAA) and placed on the DL, this way he will make an MLB salary while on the DL and eligible to make rehab appearances when he is ready

OF Reed Johnson (back) and 3B Troy Glaus (heel) could miss significant time.. up to two weeks in the case of Johnson and possibly a month for Glaus if he opts for surgery. OF Adam Lind and 3B John Hattig are the logical guys to be recalled if they are placed on the DL. Alex Rios has been batting lead-off with the absence of Johnson. Jason Smith and John McDonald are currently platooning at third. INFs Ray Olmedo and Ryan Roberts are also options if they move RP Davis Romero to the 60 day DL since they would need to be added to the 40-man roster. Romero will miss the entire season anyway.

Hey guys, in school at the moment checking in on you since I don't have internet access at home yet. Not much posts I must say

Being without internet is really good for the rosters since I've been able to spend a lot of time on them improving the quality :D

Hey totte I am using your rosters and I noticed that Chris Coste on the Phils is wayyy overrated. To the point that he seems like a barry bonds version of a catcher. Was wondering if you looked at that recently. No big deal, i just adjusted.

Some Jays notes:

-RP Jason Frasor is now the closer with B.J. Ryan on the D.L. Frasor needs some velocity changes on his pitches. His change is actually a split-change and comes in around 83-84 mph. His slider is also harder around 88-89 mph.

-SP/RP Jamie Vermilyea has been recalled from Syracuse (AAA) and will throw in long relief. He is wearing #36 but has yet to play.

-SP/RP Casey Janssen has been throwing a bit harder this year (his fastball has topped out at 94)

-2B Jason Smith probably won't spend any time in the outfield this season so I would change him to 2nd position INF

-An update on the Reed Johnson situation. He was placed on the D.L. Friday with Adam Lind being recalled from AAA. Lind will be the starting LF for the time being. He pretty much has to opt for the season-ending surgery because if he doesn't his condition will likely get worse if he plays through it.

-This is what the new lineup looks like:

RF Rios

LF Lind

CF Wells

DH Thomas

3B Glaus (currently injured but expected back Tuesday)

1B Overbay

2B Hill

C Zaun

SS Clayton

vs. LHP's Lind bats 8th with Hill bumped up to the #2 hole and Zaun in the #7

His batting ratings are based off the formula used for all the other players but I agree, it's a bit much. I'll lower his ratings when I get home from class in a few hours.

I was wondering why this guy kills me in my dynasty. Also, Wes Helms ratings are a little to high.

You do realize he hit .328 last year, right?

As in, like last year when you reworked the ratings for the 06 season. Are you (or did you) rework them for this year?

They've already been reworked heading into this season. I did an overhaul on the ratings back in october/november based on the 2006 stats (and 2003-2005 splits).

Hence the big ratings the formula supplied me with. I agree that they might be a bit high and I'll look into it but they won't be changed much.

Guys I was thinking of a way to further improve the depth of the models.big by big shmooz. You use the modded (non-generic) cyberfaces for players down in the minors that resemble someone but is currently assigned to a 901-915 face.

I found this works good with brothers such as Jonathan and Josh Papelbon, Corey and Eric Patterson, Jeremy and Mark Reed.

Are there any others players that you think resemble eachother so much that you can use one cyberface for both? They don't have to be brothers, just look like the same berry :)

Personally I don't think Jeremy and Mark really look alike. I guess the Papelbon's and Patterson's are close enough but I don't think there would be many more examples that work. To me, I'd rather see a generic face than a face I definitely recognize as someone else. Some of the cyberfaces are done so well that they are unmistakable for that player... However, using a brother or very close face would make creating the unique face much easier so such a list would still be useful.

I get your point and it's a good one but have you seen Jeremy Reed's face on Mark Reed in the game? It looks really good :)

Jays notes:

Ryan Roberts now wears #20 since Jason Smith took #4 which he wore last season when he was up with the Jays

Jamie Vermilyea is now wearing #36 for the Jays but has yet to make his major league debut
