A few more changes to Jays minor leaguers:

Dustin Majewski is L/L not R/R like in UR 8.2

Jamie Vermilyea doesn't throw submarine. He throws overhand 3/4

Consider it done my friend!

Do you have time to check out the Jays rosters later this week before I hopefully release the rosters on Sunday?

The Reds sent to AAA Louisville Bobby Livingston (LHP) and Jeff Keppinger (IF).

The Rangers sent RHP Mike Wood to AAA Oklaoma

The Nationals sent OF Kory Casto

The Mets recalled up RHP Ambiorix Burgos and sent RHP Lino Urdabeta to AAA New Orleans.

For the Jays rosters you mean just the MLB rosters?

Anyway, here we go:

Totte how are the Cubs looking? Any open slots where you might need some scouting reports. I know there have been some releases that have been reported already but just wanted to check before the next release.

I know I have one spot open down in single-A since Hagerty was released. I think there's another opening too but I'd have to check that out. I'd appreciate info on one new guy to start with though :)

Thanks

No not really, I'm talking depth wise and ratings with rotations, lineups etc.

Would a pitcher or a position player work best so the benches/rotations are not lopsided?

Yeah I'll look at it when you're ready.. however the problem is that right now there's a good 20 or so players in the DL between the MLB-A Ball rosters

I don't know if you noticed, but Brett Myers has reached 100 on the gun in his last two outings. I am unsure if that adds to his velocity in the game in your opinion, but it's a good sign.

Typically guys who are starters when they move to the bullpen they throw a couple miles per hour harder... for example: Casey Janssen of the Blue Jays as a starter tops out 92-93 mph wit his fastball but as a reliever it's gone up to 94-95 and sometimes even 96

Totte: I'll get you a somewhat accurate scouting report on Jesse Litsch from what I see tonight. From his picture on mlb.com he definitely throws a circle change. Not too sure about what else he throws at this point.

05/13/07 Transaction Syracuse Jason Scobie Jason Scobie was released

Too lazy to go back and quote it, but I get your stance on Cain. Would it be better to leave the two-seamer in and take the sinker out, since the movement on his fastball is more lateral than sinking?

Definitely

I think you're gonna find a way to work out of that jam like you've done before

Cool! I'll see what I can do...

I'd like to see an infielder or if you can't anyone at all, a reliever. A middle infielder would be even better... :)

Here's what I got on him.. he has a chubby build especially upper body and kind of short arms the ball in his delivery... it's over the top and he doesn't have a really high leg kick. He has very light blond hair and it's very short.

His pitches:

4-Seamer tops out 91-92

2-Seamer, dives down and away to lefties at 89-90

Circle change that drops down about 80-81

Cut fastball cuts in to lefties/away from righties 89-90

And a mid 80s slider that moves away and down from righties

Curveball 73-74 with 12-6 drop

The curve is really his least used pitch. He mainly has throw cut, 2 seamer and change

I'd recommend one of these INF's to fill the open A Daytona spot. I searched everywhere but couldn't find a scouting report on either however.

Any word on a PS2 roster conversion after the new update release on the 20th? Otherwise I need to get crackin' on updating it myself.

I don't know to be honest. I'm hoping that the amazing kraw will help out once again with a conversion but it's still up in the air

I'll dig a little deeper and see what I cán come up with and then decide who to add. Thanks for coming up with two options :)

Arizona claimed Jason Smith off waivers from the Jays. He has to be carried for the rest of the year on the 25-man roster or offered back to the the Cubs.

After Jesse Litsch's outstanding MLB debut yesterday where he went 8 2/3 innings and allowed just 4 hits, the Jays have opted to put him in the rotation and remove Tomo Ohka. The Jays will likely go with a 4-man rotation for the rest of the month... Burnett-Marcum-McGowan-Litsch. The Jays actually don't need a 5th starter until the 26th and it won't necessarily be Ohka at this point. Although, GM J.P. Ricciardi said he will probably make that start.

Brandon League has made progress lately recovering from "an overdeveloped lat muscle" in the off-season and has gotten much of his velocity back on his fastball. He is now pitching in the low-to-mid 90s. It seems unlikely he will need season-ending surgery, he'll just spend more time rehabbing and could be back by July.

Outfielder Reed Johnson is on schedule with his rehab and could rejoin the team in mid-June, along with LH Gustavo Chacin. Gregg Zaun will join the Jays on their interleague road trip and see the hand specialist who did his surgery for a check-up and further evaluation. After the results of that, the team will have a better idea of his return.

I ended up replacing the Slider with a Cutter and adding a 2-seamer. Felt that he needed an off-speed pitch so I kept the Curveball.
