Figured I'd give you an update on how things are going with the rosters...

With a lot of help from faithful UR-users, the next version promises to be a good one. You'll get updated ratings, salaries, team and player stats along with the latest transactions and usual minor tweaks here and there.

You'll also see the solid base of prospects in the lower leagues, something that is known for the UR-series and done to bring you that extra roster depth to further improve your dynasties.

So when might this be released? Well there's a little problem this year. I'll be on vacation in the States on Opening Day travelling around with a couple of buddies. I won't be back home until April 5th and given that it's right back to my office for work and catching up, I won't be able to mash out an update 'til the weekend after (April 12-13th)

I hope you'll find it in you to wait for my release - the release of the longest running roster set for MVP 2005 :)

No problem buddy,

We can wait 2 more weeks.

Have fun with your buddies .

By the way, what's cities have you planned to visit?

Okajima develops a secret Doki-doki pitch

Hideki Okajima gave at least a hint as to the identity of the secret pitch he's developing the Boston Globe. Okajima has deemed his new pitch the "Doki-doki," appropriate both for the play on his nickname and its meaning in Japanese, which, according to translator Jeff Yamaguchi, means "sounds of a heartbeat," and "he makes me nervous."

"He doesn't know which way it breaks, and it works for either hitter," Yamaguchi said. "He started working on the new pitch since August last year, throwing catch against me."

Okajima said he thought he needed to improve last season, but that he was better served saving it until this year. Asked if the pitch was a two-seam fastball, Okajima leaned over and said, "Secret."

Anyone have any idea why version 8.7 crashes my game? I can't start a game in any mode without it crashing. I copied all the files from the dat folder into data/database, is there something I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

Don't know if you had this already....

"With the unity of the team in mind, pitcher Barry Zito discussed wearing stirrup socks and high-kneed uniform pants with fellow starter Matt Cain. Soon, Noah Lowry and Tim Lincecum were on board. Zito may be the new tenant of Barry Bonds’ old locker, but his focus is completely different.

Although the retro look is one that makes some fans swoon with giddiness (or is it just me?), the new look is one the pitchers plan to adopt as a sign of camaraderie and to display a side of the players fans are not accustomed to."

Looks like the starting rotation will be wearing short pants and high stirrups this season for the Giants.

The Chicago Cubs do not have a first basemen in the lineup. It has "NULL" in each lineup (2nd batter). Also every time I click on Justin Sellers of the Stockton Ports, the game crashes. This also happened before UR9.0.
