enrique cruz SS and anthony gwynn jr. OF on brewers AA need to be created as well as delvin james pitcher for anaheim AA and justin thompson pitcher for texas AA

also HypnoxXx i didn't know how the process went in making the rosters..meaning i didn't know you make them and let others tweek them..they are worth the wait...when available there should be a thread as well as a link for ps2 x-port files? correct?

by the way did anyone include the portraits for players like bonds, millar, donnelly, etc. in the new update..if not i saw a couple of good pics by Hory for download that would go perfectly with them

You have to download those portraits...The only thing our rosters have to do with portraits is making sure that the players ID matches up with the corresponding portrait number so that it shows up in the game.

MLB-Texas

Almanzar- got rid of the two-seam and made 4-seam tail. I don’t think he has two-types, just a “hard tail-erâ€, increased his slider [note: he’s the only guy I touched after the sim, by giving his slider 2 more in mov’t because he’s had 3 straight years of sub-4.00]

Astacio- decreased stuff, made the slurve a splitter via this site: http://www.battersbox.ca/article.php?story...&mode=print

Brocail- got rid of change and made it a sinker, tweaked curve and switched the 2-seam to slider

Cordero- got rid of change, that’s BS: a true two-pitch pony

Drese- swapped effectivness of sinker and fastball

I also changed his pickoff to 8/15 from 1/15 :lol: Quote from ESPN: He made two errors, one of them on a bad pickoff throw, but otherwise was quite good at holding runners.

Francisco- again changeup is a crock, slider is a splitter that has cut movement instead of the regular fade. Why? This quote:â€His out pitch is a split-finger that dives and sometimes acts like a slider with cut actionâ€

Mahay- made change a circle, made curve a slider, got rid of 2-seam, made 4-seam tail

Park- I know he looked good against the Halos a couple of days ago, but his last 3 years are garbage; decreased him across the board

Riley- changed control and speed on curve

Rogers- gave his curve big mov’t and lower control(anyone seen it; it’s not Zito-big but it is close)

Shouse- made 2-seam a slurve and made fastball tail: I’m getting no help on pitching motion, but this guy is straight across sidearm when I find it

Young- increased his stamina to 70, added slider and 2-seam via scouting report in S.N. Ult. Guide, lowered fastball speed 2 mph

is there a way to dl the new rosters you will put out and then put these portraits in..if not could you explain how..i would love to try to edit rosters these rosters just to see how the pic look in the game

Hey bb!:

Concerning Ortiz's body type- you are correct- he looks silly as is- change his bone profile to Heavy and body type to Large- and he looks much better (IMHO)...And keep the faith- I think what you are doing is great- and just realize that there are several statistical shortcomings in t his game that cannot be addressed (like you didn't already know)...I DARE somebody to show me simmed K totals for a pitcher with 300+...Or even a pitcher who averages 10 K's per 9...Still the best game out there that isn't text based.

Cool nice job on Texas, but here some things to add on Chan Ho now throws a sinker, which is causing the success he has had this year, Astacio has been pretty nasty so far, best he has looked in 5 years. Chris Young throws a fastball every freakin pitch and it screams crush me. Ricardo Rodriguez will be called up soon to replace him, he was off to great start last year til he got hit by a line drive and has been good in the minors this year. Oh yeah and Drese has a 2 seam fastball as well as the 4 seam, the 2 seam is more effective and moves down and in on righties

Some pitchers have 6 pitches they use regularly (Kris Benson comes to mind, who I did a couple of days ago). Drese does, so I made his 4-seam act like a 2-seam since its mandatory. (See the mov’t). Park's sinker is actually a 2-seam. See source at bottom.

MLB- Cubs

Dempster- made 4-seam tail, decreased changeup and slider

Fox- 90+ rated slider? No. Increased changeup a tad

Hawkins- increased curve, slider and split a tad

Leicester- Increased slider, fastball velocity, splitter

Maddux- Changed 2-seam trajectory so it would act like sinker, changed sinker to curve he throws occasionally, increased NO MOV’T cutter, change change to circle

Prior- made curve his second best option, increased slider a tad, added 1 mph to fastball

Remlinger- 90+ rated fastball? Lowered its control, made curve a slurve, increased change mov’t and made to fade

Rusch- lowered control of change and curve

Wellemeyer- increased slider, decreased change

Wood- lowered control on change and increased mov’t, increased curve so its 2nd best pitch, increased velocity on slider

Zambrano- increased splitter (or sinker, whatever it’s called) a tad

Added to roster (since ver. 1) and simmed (in case HypnoxXx uses one or the other):

Borowski- got rid of 2- seam, made 4-seam tail, made slurve a slider and increased ratings (All reports I saw say he was back to himself following rehab until hand got broke. I even saw where he’s wolfing down milk to help it heal faster. Huh?)

Wuertz- increased sinker, curve, change and fastball velocity a tad.

O's update as I watch Tejada hit a Granny off of Kevin Brown:

Rodrigo Lopez - Pitching Style 5

Daniel Cabrera - Curveball should be 80-82 mph

Geronimo Gil - Large body type (I don't know what it is called in MVP, Bulky or whatever, but Gil is a plump guy).

Brian Roberts - Hot zones should be the same but opposity for LHP and RHP: Inside middle, Inside low, Middle low. Also, can I beg for a little contact increase against LHP :p

Todd Williams - Fastball should have 2-8 movement on it and be 90-92 mph. He throws his fastball exclusively with movement

Equipment updates:

Tejada - Elbow Guard 2, No Shin Guard

Javy Lopez - No Elbow Guard, Shin Guard 2

Mora - Remove Elbow Guard

Palmeiro - Remove Elbow Guard

And for the Yankess, John Flaherty should have the Generic batting stance (death to the Bent stance).

Buerhle- increased cutter

Contreras- decreased slider

Cotts- made 4-seam tail, added 2 mph, changed 2-seam to slider

Garcia- made 4-seam tail and lowered by 2 mph, changed circle to straight change

Garland- changed cutter to slider, raised fastball 1 mph

Hermanson- way too much stuff since he started relieving, ditched 2-seam and curve, changed change to splitter, made 4-seam tail

Hernandez- decreased 4-seam and slider control a tad

Marte- changed slider to slurve, lowered fastball 2 mph and gave natural tail

Politte- decreased ridiculously overrated slider

Takatsu- changed slider to slurve, decreased control numbers a tad

Vizcaino, increased mov’t on all pitches, lowered control on slider, raised control on splitter

I’m so sick of Chicago (Cubs and Sox) sims. They’re all over the place, like the winds at Wrigley. Takatsu goes from 0.91 to 4+. Marte from 2.14 to 6+. I did another 4 sims so I could which were the aberrations.

what Jose Contreras has is a Forkball not a splitter

Every one of my scouting reports (Sporting News Ultimate scouting Guide, Lindy's Scouting Guide, etc.) says he throws a split. I don't mind changing it, but it would be cool if you guys would post a source on certain pitches. I am aiming for a repertoire based on the experts (or the player himself), not fans like myself or MVPMods members. Give me something to sink my teeth into, pretty please.

You don't have to write a book report complete with references cited, but a link or quote would be nice.

OK, now we can change Contreras's split. Put a fork in it (his repertoire).

I’m not answering “how many more†questions. Those who follow this thread, please don’t get the impression that everything stops as I go through the pitches. Llcmac is making some AA and A prospects. Andruw25 took it on himself to fix the Top 100. Millenium makes little suggestions every time he watches the Orioles. HypnoxXx is probably creating AA CAPs or recruiting people to do so. Many little nitpicks are still to be made. Plus, I’m doing all this hard work and a guy like James Baldwin on AAA-Ottawa will get called up to the MLB-Baltimore on day one of your dynasty because he vastly overrated. There are AT LEAST 50 guys like this who will “screw up†the rosters immediately. Has anyone noticed the five threads created each day complaining about this? This stuff can be eliminated, but through hard work and patience. Anyone who says "there's nothing you can you do to eliminate this" is short-sided. The CPU is not dumb. It will call someone up if someone in AAA is rated higher than someone in MLB. plain & simple.

Graves-decreased speed of fastball, decreased mov’t on change and slurve

Hancock-didn’t touch

Harang-decreased control on curve, slider and 4-seam, substituted splitter for cutter

Mercker-changed change to circle and increased mov’t and control, made curve a cutter and slurve a slider

Milton- decrease slightly control on curve, changed 2-seam to cutter

Ortiz-changed change to circle, decreased control on fastball

Valentine-increased fastball velocity by 3 mph

Wagner-increased control on slider, made 4-seam tail, decreased control on change

Weathers-made sinker speed of fastball and vice versa, gave 4- seam tail

Do you have a time set on these or a geuss on when they will be done will be greatly appreciated because i have been waiting for so long(i got the game the day it came out and havent opened it yet just waiting for great rosters like urs) :D

Man i'm not even working on these rosters with these guys and i feel their pain. If any of you have ever worked on rosters for any game then you should know that it takes time, alot of time. They'll get done when they get done. Until then i suggest either using their latest release or just using the stock rosters and practice so that you're decent when the rosters are done and you start your dynasty. I've worked on rosters for baseball games before, HH, and Madden and NCAA, they take time. If you just want the names then it's easy enough to go through and do yourself, although even that is time consuming.

These guys are taking time out of their lives to give this community something that is greatly appreciated, the least that everyone could do is let them work in peace. If you have info on anybody specific give it to them, if you're wondering how long the rosters are going to take, then i suggest that you keep it to yourself. The more times that they have to answer the same question the less time they are tweaking the rosters.

When it's finished it will be a worthwhile set, and a set that will be a good base for the next 7 or so years when there most likely won't be a pc game developed. Let them work on them at their own pace. When they finish, then we'll all be able to enjoy them. This is the reason that i quit messing with rosters a few years ago, for all of the work you put into them, you get nothing but grief.

llmac, hypno, bby and everyone else that is contributing to this set, i want you to know that i, for one, greatly appreciate all of the time that you are spending on these to get everything correct down to the last detail. Take your time and good luck. Thanks.

I'm kind of one of the die hards waiting for a complete minor league roster...

I hate to endorse the slap a name on a player school of thought, but once 1.1 is out maybe it would be worthwhile to cut corners on the remaining low profile low minor leaguers - since projecting their ratings would be a crapshoot anyway, and detailed scouting reports probably would be hard to find.

I had been toying with the idea of downloading the 1.1 rosters and importing in single-A guys from the various total organization sets that people are uploading for various teams - but it would probably be hard to avoid duplicating guys who are already in AA and so forth if I imported entire teams. Importing individual players might work, just filling in the blanks...

Is there any easy way in mvpedit to know who the fake players are? Maybe releasing an .mbe file of the rosters with all the fake players deleted would be helpful so if we want we can import in real guys to fill the rosters.

My respect for a man like GForce grows every day. His roster set was by far the most complete last year. He had at least 8 different updates. Let me remind of this taken from his readme on version 4, with a little picture from when it was done. No one is saying it will take this long, but please let me watch Eva Longoria on Desperate Housewives(It's 9PM on the West Coast) and let me enjoy my life outside of MVP.

VERSION 4 REVISIONS:

I raised the floors on movement for major leaguers, which cuts down on quick minor league callups and also cuts down on pitchers with astronomical ERAs. My fear with pitchers always lies with overrating the top and underrating the bad. Upon review, I think I was still guilty of this to a degree, so I tried to adjust it.

The easiest way i know of to tell if the players are fake is if their photo/ID # is fake. I believe that in the roster set that they have out right now all of the created players have been assigned a # is the number is 0 then most likely that player is fake. Keep in mind however that since that release there has been alot of movement amongst the teams so you will have to live with it, or make the moves yourself until a new set is put out. Like i said i'm not involved with these in anyway, but i've taken a look at them and it seems like a 0 in the photo/id slot indicates a fake player.
