gcurrier2004
gcurrier2004, I was watching the same game... what a great performance by Doc! I heard Jerry Howarth mention on the radio broadcast that Doc did drop the splitter, but is still throwing a sinker. I think his repertoire should be: 4 seamer - tops out at 94-95 cutter curve sinker change I like that.... Thats workable
Millennium
can we get an update on the tweaks and teams? I know you are excited for the rosters, but posting 2-3 times a day about wanting an update is extremely annoying, and I am not even working on the rosters. I can't imagine how it must be for the guys doing the work. Just stop asking. They post an update every couple of days. That's when you will know. abacusand13south
A few braves corrections, Pete orr's second position should be utility he can play pretty much any position except shortstop, i havent seen him play there yet but he might have im not sure. Chipper jones should probably be upgraded a little he isnt that good in the game, adam laroche is better than him against righties and thats not good Laroche should probably be toned down a little possibly. Andy bako the fake player in the minors needs toned down a little he gets called up after the first game almost every dynasty but then so does francoeur but im not sure why because hes not that good in the first year. jbmagicfan
llcmac the people that you have assign for each team, i hope there not too biased for there team there doing. i hope they will be very very fair. it can make the game very unbalance, if they do the ratings, etc. its human nature to be loyal for your team also i hope they understand the injury rule you have set for your roster. (3 months or less) with exceptation like Barry Bonds, Nomar Garciaparra thanks
Juan1919
I think we are just checking for missing players and/or stuff thats wrong with certain players, not editing ratings and such. lineshot
I'm not sure what you're asking for, but I have Milwaukee updated very nicely - no fake players, all accurate #'s (except for a few in A ball), all vitals updated, best prospects in the minors, did very little tweaking of player attributes, adjusted some pitchers pitchs based on what they pitch, rotations and lineups set based on box scores from this spring, changed cyberfaces that have caused crashing issues, etc. If you're interested, I could send you the .met file and .mep files for each minor league team. I did these to help out the Real Baseball System roster, but would be happy to share them for this project too.
llcmac
From a couple of pages ago: Alright now for the part where everyone can help. I need people who are very familiar with an organization or two (three, four, etc.) Not just MLB, but the whole organization. When the rosters comes out, I want you to look through you team(s) and give me feedback. Important players left off, ratings, skin color, everything. It would be more organized than everyone spitting 2 or three things at me. If you are interested, PM or post what team(s) you want to take. That's what's going on. bbythepier
Took the night off. Well worth it, I must say. I did my best on this team. Sorry, I just don’t know them very well. Don't worry, I didn't stack them. Probably the exact opposite. MLB- San Francisco I put Benitez down in AAA and I’ll decrease his stuff a lot when I get there. I know Levine is back in the pen, but I’ll stick with the staff w/o Benitez, figuring that eventually Felipe will only keep 11 on staff. Brower- he’s a solid reliever and his slider is his most used pitch. That being said, none of his offspeed pitches are “wickedâ€, so I gave him rather low mov’t #’s and high control on offspeed for his ERA. lowered his curve control 14 points (84 to 70) after sims because his ERAs were way too low when put as closer Christainsen- I made him suck as much as I could, without putting him on waivers myself. Most overpaid reliever in baseball ($1.1 mill for dogcr@p) Eyre- again a average-to-marginal lefty, a nothing fastball, a nothing slider, a nothing change, but 3 mov’t slider and 0 mov’t change? Decreased 4-seam, increased slider and change deleted curve Rueter- Hyp made all the changes necessary on this piece of #@%& like on page 20 of this thread when I told him he was way overrated Fassero- no pitch rated over 80 for this crafty vet. Why I don’t GM or coach? I bad-mouthed him to Hyp all spring and this guy has been our most dependable reliever. He was probably chomping at the bit to get out from under the circus tent known as Coors Field, still decreased control on 4-seam and curve, increased control on 2-seam Herges- HaHa. This guy blows goats. Decreased 4-seam and made tail a tad, decreased control on curve and changed 2-seam to his changeup Lowry- every fastball is a straight-as-an-arrow “hit-me-pitchâ€, no tailing 2-seam whatsoever, he throws a slider now but thankfully like twice a game, changed 2-seam to slider and made it worse than 2-seam was, his money pitch is that circle change which is excellent (he threw 3 of them to one of the Padres righties the other might, maybe Aurilla, with one wild fastball mixed in and K. He throws one fastball in the vicinity of the plate to Blum and its Oooooouta here!), left change alone (even the speed is right), but increased mov’t on pretty good curve Schmidt- overhaul I had been talking about. Lowered 4-seam 2 mph and increased control to compensate to make it 93 rated, swapped change to circle change even though its not a circle due to mov’t ala Gagne: Jason Schmidt (SF)- “Schmidt usually throws his changeup between 87 and 90, as hard as many pitchers' fastballs. The pitch acts almost like a screwball, breaking down and away from lefthanded hitters and in to righthanded batters. It fades at the end, with the kind of hard, late movement hitters loathe.†Ron Kroichick /Sporting News: http://msn.foxsports.com/story/2650762 If anyone actually still watches the opening videos to the game, he’s striking out Bellhorn with it in his one-hitter at SBC last year. Decreased mov’t on slider, but increased on curve, deleted 2-seam, his fastball is strictly a hit-me-if-you-can straight 4-seam, if it’s the change you look as stupid as you do on Gagne’s change (although Gagne’s IS a better pitch) Tomko- he thinks he’s Schmidt and it works on teams like DMZ’s Pittsburgh but against the likes of lineups like St. Louis his straight “muscle-up†4-seam is a “souvenir†pitch, decreased 4-seam, sinker is nonsense, changed sinker to curve and decreased mov’t, increased change a tad Walker- made him suck as humanly possible, his fastball is such meat, decreased control on 4-seam 30 points, added some mov’t to change, changed curve to slider but left it as a nothing pitch, (if you see this guy come out of the pen, it’s because Felipe wants to lose the game) Williams- his change is actually a circle but it’s not that good, swapped change to circle and decreased mov’t, 2 mov’t on curve? Not that bad, increased mov’t on curve and slider, decreased control on 4-seam, added a tailing 2-seam which he throws to lefties, a nice 4.00 ERA, 12-14 win guy but needs the “out-pitch†like Schmidt’s and Lowry’s change to really take off. Find Giants tweaks and 4 season sims here: http://img170.echo.cx/my.php?image=giants3cf.jpg Later this afternoon, while I watch the Giants-Pirates, I’ll go back and fix the three guys on DMZ’s (White, Williams and Mesa’s split), look a little closer at some of BrewBomber's suggestions, and try and do the Cards while taking into account this post by Dan05: The Cardinals signed RP Gabe White (I'm not sure about the contract details, but he is in Triple A Memphis). He is still on the Free Agent list in the last update. Also, the Cardinals have been using RP's Jimmy Journell, Randy Flores, and Carmen Cali who have all been looking pretty decent so far. You may want to look at their pitch types and their abilities which are pretty low. Just some suggestions. Thanks a lot.
bbythepier
Also, Bby, i'm watching the giants hit redman all over the place early in tonights game. I think the pirates strategy is to tire out the opponents by allowing them to run around the bases hoping to wear teams out and catch them off-guard at the end if they are not down by 6 or more runs. Anyways here is what i found on Mesa: Don't get the impression that Tomko is The Next Rocket or our lineup is the The Bay Bombers. We're about as consistent as JLo's love life. I actually went back and saw Mesa throw that split on MLB.TV. I won't bore you with who or what pitch, but it's there all right. Funny there was no mention of it in this year's scouing reports. Jays fans, I saw that Halladay got rid of the split. I guess you call him Doc for "Doc Halladay". That sounds like a "Bermanism" to me, but for some odd reason I've hadn't heard that one in a while. I will tell you for sure (if there are any doubters out there) that curve is a knuckle curve. When I watched him in slow-motion on the highlights, he still has the index finger bent just after the follow-through. I thought about even capturing it and posting it, but I'm not that anal. That "biter" is a knuckle-curve, though.

bbythepier
abacus- I don't understand. Could you say it slower? (man I'm such a smart@ss) Very good idea, though, llcmac. Especially on the lower levels. jbmagicfan, do you see what I mean with Wunsch (got the spelling right this time) on the Dodgers? He's perfect against the lefties in the division with his sidearm junk. HypnoxXx will tell you not against Gonzalez on the DBacks the other night, but Luis has his belly-button facing the pitcher. No pitch starts behind him, like it does on closed stances like Helton and Snow.
