bbythepier
bby how much more tweaks do u got to do?....there is alot of games today u can get some from If nothing else, stalsy, you are persistent. Yes, everyone played today, on a Sunday. I watched most of the Giants game, a little of the Braves game, Yankees game, the gem between Santana-Colon, etc. Yes, I always keep my eyes open and make little notes to myself. I'm also doing laundry, paying bills, etc. Just relax, please. You give the same line every time I post stuff. bby how much more tweaks do u got to do? Please, pretty please, STOP. Now I will post my last four teams tomorrow. If there are little switches on the back end of a teams staff, and some one needs tweaked, IT IS DISTINCTLY POSSIBLE I WILL GET TO THEM ON MY TRIP THROUGH AAA. So if your 5th starter gets swapped or the 12th man in the pen is a new callup, relax they will see the bbythepier knife, I promise. Brad Hennessey made a start for my Giants today. I will run in to him in AAA. The new guys in the Cards pen while Izzy, Eldred, and Pulsipher mend are AAA pitchers who are getting their day in the sun while big leaguers are injured. That doesn't mean they can't make a big impression and stay. After I post my last teams, I will ask Hyp for the updated roster so far, go back and see what pitchers I consider "stick-ers" and do some mop up tweaks. Either way, I will run into these guys. Trust me. I can look at each updated team and see who I should consider a MLB player and a AAA player and tweak accordingly, and at the right time. I'm not going to do a tweak to each individual callup. What I'm doing to the rosters before I sim (version sent to me by Hyp last week, which may not match up with what was in version 1.0) Nats- I am sending Horgan and Osuna (not making progress on shoulder) down to AAA, where I will also eventually see Rauch and Carrasco there as well. Majewski will move up. Patterson will be put in the rotation and Day and Armas Jr. will be simmed at the 5th starter 2 seasons each, with the other going in LR. Vargas will be moved to MR. Why? Because I'm the boss. Cards- see my above Jays- no changes DRays- moved Bell to MR, will split #5 spot between Waechter (called up in place of McClung)and Fossum because it's only a matter of time before Fossum gets his chance to start (only viable choice in minors, Webb, got his chance and was blown up and demoted) Happy May Day! Millennium
From today's O's-Rays game: Tampa Bay's Eduardo Perez - Generic Stance (DEATH TO THE BENT STANCE) Todd Willams - Throws from a 3/4 arm slot. I can't seem to figure out which delivery that it, I just know it isn't his default one. And here is where I plead: Melvin Mora. His fielding is currently underrated in this game. He has now been at 3rd for more than a season, and after 60 games last year, he has become (and yuo know I wouldn't say this just because I am a homer) Gold Glove caliber. He has no errors this year, 5th in Range Factor in MLB, 7th in Zone Rating, and has a very strong arm. Most of his errors last season came in the first 60 games. I believe his fielding/range numbers should be increased dramtically (into the Glove Icon range), and his arm be tweaked up (when he goes to throw, his 'red area' shouldn't be half of the arc.) I don't have exact MVP ratings numbers to throw out as starting points, but I can tell you this guy has become one of the 4 best fielding third baseman in baseball (Behind Rolen and Chavez, up there with Beltre in the second tier). Millennium
Does Crawford get your vote for 15/15 fielding? I can tell you who gets my vote for the best middle infield in the game? (Hint: yours) I still think he is good, but I don't think 15/15 good. His speed makes up for most of his other shortcomings. I think his range should be very good, but his glove should still be 12-13/15. Gold glovers deserve 15/15.

abacusand13south
Abacus, Like Lowry, if the batters know Lee’s high 80’s mph fastball is comin’, he’ll be asking for a new ball. That’s why I compare them. There’s no mov’t on their fastballs, they need to outguess the batters by throwing that offspeed stuff. Also abacus, I think it was you who told patiencelessjoe that he was a moron for thinking guys like Felix Hernandez and Matt Cain wouldn’t get called up at sometime this year. Look at their starts in AAA so far (look at Cain’s H/Inn.) bby a little scouting report about lee I found. Lee throws four pitches, along with various subgroups. He throws a fastball, curveball, slider and change. He'll use a cut fastball against righthanders and works in a four-seam fastball as well. He throws between 87-93 MPH, with his normal velocity at 90-91 MPH. Lee has a smooth delivery and a competitive nature that can get him into trouble. He challenged hitters with his fastball during his 10-1 run, but they started to turn around the heat in the second half. Lee allowed 30 homers, including 18 after the All-Star break. His control was another problem. He had too many three-ball counts, which prevented him from getting deep into games. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/scouting?statsId=7026 Not sure if you added the cutter or not, but it will definitaly help with the strait ball theory. Also john olerud is now officially a member of the red sox, he signed a minor league contract today.
D.M.Z.
DMZ, Does Snow get your vote for 15/15 fielding? Mets, Rockies and Cubs fans: Fo’get about it. Doug M, Todd H. and Derrek L. can share the bronze and the silver. The Gold Glove trophy at 1B should just be molded in the shape of a Snow-man. He is not “one of the best†fielding 1B’s, he is “the bestâ€. (And you know I call a spade a spade, no matter the uniform) I would have to agree with you on that one. there really is no other first baseman, now that mark grace is gone, that plays the position like snow. Snow has won it six times, Grace had won it four and Helton has three as well as the last years but Snow has been consistent year in and year out in the field. The only concern i have with Snow is the uniform that he wears, i think he would look much better in a pirate uni. Maybe a possible future trade, the bucs give vogelsong back since they were ripped off in the Jason Schmidt deal for snow and he signs an extension guarteeing him 500K per year with an all you can eat perogi bonus included. how does that sound. heck the bucs could even dig up armando rios somewhere and throw him in the deal to make it that much sweeter. :D

poonani
Im curious what work has been done on the Yankees system for the newest update. I'm now finally completed my work on my complete organizational update, but i really so no point in releasing it on its own. Would there be interest in adding it to the new update? http://mvpmods.com/index.php?name=Forums&a...opic&t=9181 is the link to my post, but i never released it because i felt like more work needed to be done. I've since reworked the major leaguers alot more, gotten their hot and cold zones alot more consistent with RL as well as hit distribution to all fields. Also updated some of the rosters, and portraits. Obviously the portraits would be done separately, and i still have more to update because the Thunder recently put out new photos which are better than some of the ones i gathered from college-era im guessing thats a no to this ^ i guess ill release it separately after the update is released. abacusand13south
Nationals corrections, last night joey eischen broke his arm as most people know and will be out about 3 months, the nationals dont know who is going to take his place, but with horgan sucking in the majors and triple a, it now looks like the lefthanded matt white will take his place. I for one did not see anywhere that the nationals had signed matt white from the royals but I guess they have.

HypnoxXx
From MLB.com... Now the Nationals have to decide who they will call up to replace Eischen. The choices are right-handers Tony Armas Jr. and Claudio Vargas, who are currently doing rehab assignments. If they choose one of them, it would mean the Nationals don't have a lefty in the bullpen. Did see Matt White is on New Orleans, courtesy of minorleaguebaseball.com. So he'll be put there, at least...

jbmagicfan
Boston Red Sox David McCarty - First Baseman Red Sox designated first baseman-outfielder David McCarty for assignment. McCarty, who had just four at-bats this season, had to see the writing on the wall when the Red Sox announced the signing of John Olerud. Olerud will eventually take McCarty's role. For now, however, Kevin Youkilis will back up Kevin Millar at first base. Jeremi Gonzalez - Starting Pitcher Red Sox purchased the contract of RHP Jeremi Gonzalez from Triple-A Pawtucket. Gonzalez will start tonight and could stay in the rotation depending on how he does. If he proves to be solid, the Red Sox would be better off keeping him around as a starter until Curt Schilling returns and putting John Halama back in the pen. Kevin Youkilis - Third Baseman Red Sox recalled infielder Kevin Youkilis from Triple-A Pawtucket. Despending on how Mark Bellhorn and Ramon Vazquez are feeling, Youkilis could be sent right back to Triple-A in a couple of days. Youk was hitting .227/.364/.364 since being sent down. Tim Bausher - Starting Pitcher Red Sox optioned RHP Tim Bausher to Triple-A Pawtucket. Because Mark Bellhorn and Ramon Vazquez are limited, Bausher's stay in the majors was even shorter than expected. He didn't pitch in his one day with the club. Florida Marlins Jim Crowell - Relief Pitcher Marlins purchased the contract of LHP Jim Crowell from Triple-A Albuquerque. Another pretty weak option to round out the Florida pen. Crowell, 30, gave up one run in three innings for the Phillies last year. Travis Smith - Relief Pitcher Marlins optioned RHP Travis Smith to Triple-A Albuquerque. Smith pitched one scoreless inning for the Marlins. San Francisco Giants Brad Hennessey - Starting Pitcher Giants recalled RHP Brad Hennessey from Triple-A Fresno. Hennessey will start Sunday against the Pirates and could return to the minors right after the game. Scott Munter - Relief Pitcher Giants optioned RHP Scott Munter to Triple-A Fresno. Munter, the only Giants reliever not to work tonight, didn't get into a game during his four days with the club. Anahiem Angels Andy Fox triple AAA has retired. magic6
Hey guys, I'm new to posting here and was just wondering about the roster project...is there a cutoff date as to when you try to make the rosters accuarte, say opening day? From what I'm gathering it seems the answer is no, if this is true, why is there no cutoff date?
HypnoxXx
Better call this the year of the injury... I'm keeping a close eye on callups, and trying make sure I go ahead with the ones that are purely performance based and ignore the ones that are injury based... For example, I wont bring up any AAA BoSox pitchers, because they're only coming up to take Schilling and Well's spots. I will however bring up Youkilis and send down McCarty, since that has nothing to do with injuries. On Florida, neither Crowell nor Smith will be on the roster because they're merely taking Mota's spot while he's hurt. However, if anyone knows if Alfonseca is going to be out longer than 3 months, let me know, because the appropriate changes would need to be made... To magic, I'm assuming you're trying to say we should have kept the ML rosters stuck on opening day, and just filled out the minors from there. Its a commendable idea, but I think the majority is in favor of the upto date version. And since making a few moves here and there takes little effort compared to all the CAPs we're making, we're happy to do it and keep the rosters upto date. Afterall, EA even went past the opening day rosters on their last roster update as well...
cubsfaninfla
HE'S BACK! The Iowa Cubs have released outfielder Angel Echevarria and signed outfielder Trenidad Hubbard. Hubbard was the 2004 Iowa Cubs MVP after hitting .330 with nine home runs and 36 stolen bases. His 156 hits led the team. Echevarria was released after batting .157 with one home run in 18 games. Hubbard is expected to be in uniform tonight. He was released by the Round Rock Express after batting .224 in 17 games.
magic6
Thanks HypnoxXx, I appreciate everyones effort on this, but I don't understand how people can't want to have a cut off date, because the second you release the rosters they are already outdated. Also, everybody is going to be starting their dynastys from opening day, not May 2 or whenever the release is. And just because Normar sucks or got hurt in real life, dosen't mean I want it that way in my MVP dynasty. But if that's what everyone wants then who am I to argue. Thanks again for the hard work.
