From A ball to a major league setup man wow what a few months sisco has had.

The Cubs blew it big time by not protecting Sisco from the Rule V Draft.

llcmac how are the rosters coming along? All most done? I can't wait to use them then I will TRULY sit down and start my dynasty, no ifs and or buts.

.... *Will John Rocker be included? He isn't on any Major League OR Minor League but is playing for the Independent League. I read Hypnoxx say that he will/could be converted from 04 but would need an update with the face. Can you guys do that? Fix up his hair since it is long? Thanks :D

Ive noticed that in the latest update that you sent to us early for the people helping a couple of things for Seattle Greg Dobbs should have a Sammy Sosa stance that fits him pefectly, also Felix Hernandez is skinny but you have him at the Heaviest Fattest setting which makes him look Fat he is only 170 pounds and should be skinny or athletic big legs note: the announcer will keep saying for anyone that weighs less then 175 pounds in this game that this guy is so skinny will blow off the mound [yet felix looks like a fatass] lol. but they say 3 or 4 different things if the player weighs less then 175 like this guy needs some meat big boy I forget the other 2 things. Also Scott Spezio lost like 20 punds so is skinny now any reason why hes at Super status? Other then that good work im still looking at a few teams.

I just want to remind everyone testing our rosters to send both llcmac and I your suggested changes/fixes when you are done, so whoever is working on the rosters at that time will be able to make the necessary corrections.

To begin with, I am multi-tasking Hyp, so yes I am looking over the Giants. I would like to ask for us working stiffs to maybe give us thru the weekend. I can really get a lot done on a slow Sat. or Sun. afternoon with a nice cold one in my hand, instead of trying to cram in this homework assignment after a work day. Please.

I'd like to help look over the Cardinals' roster, but I don't know enough about the minor league guys to contribute much. I looked at what was done with the Cards pitchers and it looks amazingly accurate. One thing I noticed in tonight's game though was that Ray King threw a change-up. It was 78 mph. It didn't move much, just had a little drop at the end.

I'll tack it on, Dan. He must throw that change as much as Sheets throws his two-seam, like 3 times a season. I never see it on the Cards game I watch. Thanks for the heads up. It will be his worst pitch, though. I may have to massage the other pitches, because tacking on a sub-par pitch tends to FUBAR his sim stats.

bby, after watching the Cubs/Brewers game last night I've made a few observations. I don't know if or what kind of changes you have made to these guys, but here's what I caught:

Cubs- Carlos Zambrano's Splitter needs to be increased. Not so much velocity, but maybe movement and control. That thing was moving and dropping like a rock last night.

Brewers- Chris Capuano's got a great pickoff move. It definately needs to be increased. It's around 60 now I think.

Brewers- Derrick Turnbow reached 99mph a couple of times on the gun with his fastball. He was hitting mid-high 90's on a consistent basis with his 4-seamer. His velocity should be increased.

Great stuff, low42. I'll go back and look at all three. Just so you know, at this point since I like the sims where they are, if I were to increase Zambrano's split it would be at the expense of another pitch. Same with Turnbow's 4-seam heat. If it's faster, than his control #'s must come down in proportion. Thanks again for the help.

Stuff I worked on over the last two days (Typed up last night, posted today):

Give me the rest of week to clean some stuff up. One thing is no matter where you put the movement (on the “clockâ€) on a 4-seam, it always tails to the pitcher’s right (or catcher’s left). So the first 10 teams or so I was under the impression I was giving some lefties a “tailing fastballâ€, like Glavine, but actually gave them a “cutterâ€. I always played them throwing the offspeed stuff so I just missed this peculiarity until I tried hitting against Moyer. One thing you learn in professional life, it’s not a mistake until it makes it to the public. I’ll go back and fix it before the next release, along with any stragglers I may have missed.

llcmac, Hyp and others,

Find the “lefty corrections†here:

I know you and others want to get rid of me like a bad cold, but please let me continue my project. Check this out:

I grabbed the updated rosters, put Felix Hernandez and Matt Cain in the 5th spot in the MLB rotations and simulated a season (which I had already done, but am doing again for effect). Here’s the results:

Here are their Think Factory projections:

projections3ag.jpg

Found at : http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/files/...inals_mariners/

Very close. Do you see the FOUNDATION for my ratings? They are not pulled out of the air. Never were.

Here is a guy on Charlotte, David Sanders (a non-BA prospect), with a simulated season in the majors and his pitch ratings.

sanders0dl.jpg

Please allow the report (reputation) that I have built up to be fairhanded, to also work on the minor leagues. NO minor league pitchers (except possibly those MLBers who are injured) should be rated above Hernandez, even veterans. By allowing me to continue (instead of 29 helpers) with the pitchers, you will be sure there is a hierarchy where the top rated prospect is rated above the next, above the next, above the next, etc. (using the Top 100 list and the list in each organization, i.e. Top 30 in the Braves) If someone is disappointed that their pitching prospect is rated too low, they will have to show proof between simulations, projections, and real-life stats (all tools I use) that their stuff is not representative.

This will not take nearly as long as the MLB took, because in the Top 30 prospects for each team, there are maybe 10 pitchers. And I will be going exclusively by the BA Prospect handbook, instead of multiple scouting reports and video footage I used for some of the pros. I mentioned earlier this was my plan and received understanding posts and no objections. I will continue until told to shut up.

Let the deviation in pitcher stats come from the MVP engine itself, not at the "starting line" with bogus ratings. Maybe Felix is a flameout in your dynasty and a Cy Young in mine. So be it. Don't try to implement the variation with F-ed up ratings at the beginning. Let the game do it.

The Batting Average leaders list is very fluid. The “outliers†in this category are hard to decipher because batting averages have a lot of deviation except in guys like Helton, Bonds, Ramirez; guys who have high power and contact. One of my behind the scenes projects that I fiddled with as I simmed was Ichiro. He should be at or near the top of the list every year, however with his current ratings he barely gets to .310 consistently. I made adjustments to his hitting categories 10 different times (yes 10), and simmed him during my pitching sims in 4 season intervals, for a total of 40 season sims. The best I could get on this Stud of the Northwest was these simulations on 3 of the 4 years, seen below:

ichiro9wo.jpg

With these adjusted ratings:

ichiro0ez.jpg

If you can find better, please share them with the group. I will give you a hint that liner, grounder, fly adjustments, spray adjustments and power adjustments DOES have an effect on simmed average. Remember I tried 10 different combinations at 4 seasons each and this was the best I could come up with.

Hypno, or llmac......

Hypno and myself talked about this abit last night on Yahoo! and i was gonna get him a list of guys considered by scouts and etc that i talk to i my daily work that should be included that aren't in now....

and so, i kinda need to know what the thinking was behind the setup of the minor leaguers

is it, majors as realistic as possible

triple a close with injured guys added

double a same as above

and a ball the best of the rest?

Any roster testors received a PS2 version of 2.0 yet???

I PMed llcmac but haven't gotten anything; just don't want to be late with the red sox and braves. If the conversion is still being made, I'll gladly make Thursday a late night to keep pace.

Any info regarding this?

bby...are changing any of those things the way you did affecting K's and Walks at all? Because with a plat discipline of 15..Ichiro is probably walking well over 100 times.

I'm starting off my analysis of my sim of the Twins minor leaguers.

One oddity is Justin Jones, a top prospect of the Cubs when traded in the Nomar/Cabrera/Mientkiewicz deal. My sim has him 5.47 2-12.

I go into MVPEdit and find this:
