bsp8174
Ok I'm going out of my mind. I can't get certain pictures into the game. :banghead: I have followed all of the instructions people have given as to using EAGE and FSH Edit and Text tool and MVP Edit. I downloaded the photos of the West tennesse Diamond Jaxx changed the numbers associated with the players using MVP Edit. Added the files into the potrait.big and still can't see them in the game. I see them in all of the editing tools, but not in the game. I also downloaded BP10 Cardinals photo pack ran the batch file and most of the photos worked but some did not like Lankford, Luna, McKay and several others. What am I doing wrong? Could someone please give a detailed tutorial from point A to Z with all of the programs that should be used and the steps. I'm talking detailed that an idoit like me can't even screw it up. fastballfreddy20
Try this, I'll be as detailed as I can 1. Your creating a new photo id, so take one picture and change it to 128 by 128, save as Bitmap image. 2. Open MvpEdit go to the player that you want to add the new # to, type in the new # (example 7400) wait until it says no picture found. 3. Double click on the picture, click on new photo, find the 128 by 128 piic you just created, open it up and click ok. 4. Wait until it loads. Export the roster (you just created 7400.fsh) 5. Open up portrait.big in EAGE, (make sure you reopen it if it was already opened), find 7400.fsh and extract it. 6. Now if you are using photoshop (make sure you have the plugin for FshEd) open up the pic in photoshop and do the transparent background. here are my notes on that http://www.highheat2004.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=17162 7. once you have the pic saved. Open up FshEd, open up 7400 (should show the bmp pic you put in) click on tools, graphic importer (this is the plugin you have to download), click open, change "files of type" to photshop, find your pic, open it, click update, go to file on FshEd, save as, just replace the 7400 that you extracted. 8. Now go to EAGE w/ portrait.big opened, click on import wizard, "add files to external TAR archive", click add find 7400.fsh, click next and let it upload, once it's done, go back to MVPedit to check it out, Play the game and the pic should be there. This is long and detailed, hope it helps, any questions let me know, there might be a quicker way, but once you get it down, it's not that bad
bsp8174
Ok where do I find this plugin? I did everything just as you said, but without the plugin I saved the image in paint shop pro as a .bmp and merged the mask. I go into MVP Edit and I see the photo I just created, but still don't see it in the game.
fastballfreddy20
The plugin is at http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~nbalive/downl...ile&id=1921 Just extract the plugin to the FshEd plugin folder let me know if this works

five
Also When I update this photo will it go to my saved dynasty or only my default rosters. It will go onto the default rosters and any dynasty you start after you have loaded the new portrait updates. If you have already started the dynasty, it will not recognize any of the changes. wmtroop
When I get to step #4 from your directions, a window pops up and gives me 2 options 1)go to the internet and find what program to use to open file or 2) choose a program to open up the file. Hope this helps you, help me.. Thanks again for your help. Any information you can give me would be a great help
five
a window pops up and gives me 2 options 1)go to the internet and find what program to use to open file or 2) choose a program to open up the file. I know what is causing this, but I don't know the exact fix. In step 4 what are you trying to open? A .fsh in the EA Graphics Editor? You need to assign whatever file you're trying to open to the appropriate program. Hope that makes since. The easiest way to assign it, is to choose a program to open up the file, navigate to the EA Graphics Editor (or whatever program you want to open it with) and make sure that checkbox is checked (for always use this program). Hope that helps.
wmtroop
When I get to the update photo window in MVP edit I select "new" get my picture in the "new side of the window but when I hit "OK" i get an error reading: Program files/mvpedit/8002/index.fsh is not a valid Win32 application. What am I doing wrong? thanks for you help.
Sosa21
I think I know what's up... You just need to change the photo number in MVP Edit... not click on the photo and do all that jazz. It's right by first name and is labeled "audio/photo". Just stick the number they give in the readme files in that lil box. Hope this does the trick. Edit: err.. that's if you added the new photo via EAGE "Import" command or a .bat file distrbuted with the modded pics.
wmtroop
still not working. Anyone have any other ideas.
fastballfreddy20
Make sure that the pic you are selecting is 128x128 and is a bmp image
dwd3885
I'm trying this too and all looks good in MVP Edit and in EAGE, but when I find the player under roster management in the game, it crashes. Any ideas? I created a fsh file for this. Not sure what's going on. Thanks for the help.
wmtroop
Finally I was able to put a new potrait in, but how come it only went to my default roster. Is there anyway to have it go into my dynasty? I guess am I asking because when I put in a cberface with a new potrait(KAZ mod) it went into my already saved dynasty, So i guess I'm trying to find out how I can put a new potrait of a player who didn't have a portrait into my dynasty? five
I'm trying to find out how I can put a new potrait of a player who didn't have a portrait into my dynasty? It's not possible, if you restart the dynasty, the portrait updates will appear, but not in an already started dynasty.
Sosa21
The dynasty will only use the pics that were there when the dynasty was created from what I can tell. Sucks.. dunno why they did that.. a .sav editor would rock! Make a new dynasty and those guys should be there...
onewaydown
I need a little guidance here. I have two portraits for players that have those default cartoon-ish photos. To fully recap what I've done is I downloaded KOOLs portrait update and another roster update. I copied 3009.fsh from the portrait pack and added a .psd file as saved it as 7777.fsh. I then added both to the .big file. I then went to MVPEdit and wasn't sure if I had to edit and save or export so I just edited the attrib.dat file, searched for the player name and replaced the 0 portrait with 3009 & 7777. They work fine in MVPEdit but the default portraits still appear in the game. Am I missing a step here to get this working? thanks a lot in advance. snivlem_eht
how'd you save it as an fsh file? I'm new to this.
onewaydown
how'd you save it as an fsh file? I'm new to this. um.. with fshEd? I opened another fsh file, imported my Photoshop file and hit save as. You need to type the whole filename in (with the .fsh). My dilemma is that when you edit the fsh file you can't edit the "IMG NAME" just the object name. I need to use TextEdit in order to hack that change. Is there an easier way, anyone? oh, and I found my solution to my orignial problem here: http://s4.invisionfree.com/MVPmods/index.p...c=209&st=15 in the attrib.dat file you put the id# after the 7 and after the 8 a "0" designates no photo (blank face, the black one), "1" is the real player photos (with the id# from 7 in portraits.big), and "2" is for the generic cartoon photos. I didn't edit #8, they were set to "2". Now on to my next task. How do you add a player to the default roster? Do you just attempt to create it in MVPEdit and then export the dat files? And is there a way to "extract" a created player from a saved dynasty/roster?
