UncleMo
Hi. I am coming from MVP 2003 to MVP 2005. I work full time and thus can not play tons of games like some people I know. How in the world do you get time to play 120 years. Or, 30 years like in Owner Mode I think that lasts for 30 years. Are you simming all of the time and never playing, or do you have a general rule like say, sim the whole season up until 30-40 games are left where you can jump in, play every game left and win them all in order to ensure your team makes the playoffs. That is what I used to do in MVP 2003. <><jesus><>
DarkEnigma510
I dont think anyone will do 120 years (unless they simmed them all). But I will often use manager mode to get through the other games I don't play.
NYM
even 30 years in owner mode is a lot.....if u were too play 2 years a year it would still take 15 years.......the most i ever got up to is year 2 last year....i simm about 20-30 games a year and then play the rest......i dont sim the forst 30-40 games....but just say im coming up to a series aginst the padres or pirates.....thos are games i would sim because i dont like playing against teams like that....i find them as boring series. HaloFan
This game's gonna have to last a few years, since it could be a long time before we see another PC Baseball game. Enough to play out a 120 seasons? Probably not, but it's a good thing to shoot for.
UncleMo
good point about using manager mode. i've hated simming games in mvp 2003 and then when you want to start playing it was a hassle figuring out which pitchers had enough health to go the day you are wanting to use them. if i use manager mode i can quickly play the game and know who i used in the game from my pen. good post good post. great sig about who's side are you on. funny. ww3. homersheineken
I voted yes since I rarely get to answer a poll calling someone lame :)
DarkEnigma510
Yeah, even though manager mode isn't exactly what I would call deep, it serves a nice purpose of getting me through my games quickly without simming. When I sim, I feel detached from my dynasty while in manager mode, I feel somewhat involved. Also, its fun to imagine the game playing out in your mind kind of like when you listen to a ballgame on the radio. And at the end of the day i feel like I was involved with the game. I know a lot of people don't really like manager mode, it serves my purposes well. I am hoping the next gen baseball games include deep manager modes or even a way to watch the games visually while making all the manager decisions (It can't be that tough--they do it in Madden now).
