schitonk
what cpu/motherboard do you have? i've read a couple threads on here where people have had that card and 2005 ran fine. but, if you insist and a pci express mobo/cpu combo upgrade is out of the question, i would say either an ATI 9600 or 9800 XT. and stick with one made by ATI versus say eVGA or Gigabyte, etc... TheBarefootKicker
Well, personally I've put Nvidia cards in all of my machines so I'm kinda biased. Nvidia has released the Geforce6 series which are balls to the wall cards. The 6800 GT, and the 6800 Ultra are the top of the line right now and they start at $400. But, they also have the 6600 and the 6200. Both of which are great cards for less money. If you're willing to spend an extra $50 the 6600 goes for $250 and the 6200 goes for less. I couldn't find an exact price, but I'm sure it's right at your price range. I've got the 6800 and I've never made a better purchase. The Geforce6 series is great. ATI makes good cards too, but i don't have as much experience with them. Hope this helped a little.

RAM
debating ati vs. nvidia, is like debating ford vs. chevy. it's really based on the individual users experience with a manufacturer, knowledge of their product and customer loyalty. ps- i prefer ati and ford  .
