PS2 controller config

I have mines configured to Logitech Dual Action for thats how it was in mvp2004... however my question is for those who are using the PS2 controller, what's the best configuration to use all the buttons in MVP2005.

For example, in the video/trailer by EA, you can move the batter in the batter's box, am unable to do this.

I use the radio shack adapter so I'm not sure how it will work out on your system but here are my settings...

I'm having similar issues with the PS2/radio shack adapter. I pasted one of these config's, but it still did not work properly, so I mapped the buttons in game, and they work fine. But my right stick does not work right, I can't move my batter in the box and I can't pause the game with the start button. In the field when I try to dive, my guy slides, when I try to jump, he dives, etc, and it is driving me nuts.

So my question is this: Do I simply copy this code into the .cfg file, and delete everything else (i.e. keyboard code, etc)?

The keyboard part doesn't matter.

You can post your controller part of the .cfg and I'll take a look at it.

I'm at work now so I'll post it when I get home. So if the keyboard part doesn't matter do I just eliminate it? Just paste the USB_Dual_Vibration_Joystick version over the entire .cfg?

Here is what I got so far. But I did change the mapping in game to get things to match up better. I had previously downloaded a .cfg from this site that I thought was supposed to be for the PS2/radio shack set up. Perhaps I was wrong.

while you guys are on this topic, did they take the ability to stop your runners in the middle of the basepaths out?.....i cant seem to be able to do it and I really liked that option last year. does anyone know about that?

I'm using the same RadioShack converter. It took a bit of time to work because the buttons were programmed wrong in the converter. It is fine since I can change it for MVP in the game, but for games like FIFA 2005 it's not possible for me to configure my controller. I tried inputting what I feel is the proper number configuration for each button (as the back of the MVP 2005 jewel says) but it just didn't work. I've used programs, and they didn't work. I'm a bit annoyed, but I just think it's best to figure out what the game deems each button to be and work from there. It took me about 10 minutes of trial and error to get the controls to be just like the game on PS2 which is how the controller is supposed to be like on the PC version.

I have the buttons working correctly by mapping them in game. It is really only the right stick that is messed up. Unfortunately, you can't change that in the game (I think).

There are things in the game that you cannot configure with the controller through the game. I have had this problem, but then I simply pushed the analog button a few times and then it started to work again. I don't really know what else to say but try another PS2 controller if it doesn't work (even the original PS1 DualShock works, but the PS2 DualShock2 is a lot more responsive)

Earlier you mentioned other problems. To pause the game, with my adapter, you have to press the Select button, since EA says Select should be button 9, the adapter says it's button 10, which EA says is pause. It's just a half-assed job (pardon my language) on the converter companies part.

To move your batter in the box, press the L1 button and then move the left analog stick to the left or the right. When I first did this, I had my advance runner selected as button 7 (L1) and it did both so watch out. You really have to know what is not changable. R1 (button 8) shows your defensive options, bullpens, managers, etc. But after you are done the hitting or pitching, R1 stops doing that until there is a stop in the play (before the pitch).

No but you can via the controller.cfg menu.

I'll give yours a look tomorrow. I noticed off the bat that you have two of the same profiles in there and a lot of unnecessary ones.
