HELP!! Game freezes at "Loading" screen...

Well I finally managed to find the game at my Circuit City and installed it without any issues. However, when I had actually turned the game on for the first time, it simply showed the green loading screen with the player's feet....the bar moved slightly, but my PC froze several seconds later, and I was forced to reboot my system...This, however, does not seem to go away...

I reinstalled the game twice to no avail. I also tried at least 3 or 4 different sets of Nvidia Forceware drivers, including their official release. I've had basically the same issue with 2004, but that was simply a matter of acquiring a different set of drivers...Does anyone have any ideas of what the issue could be?? Thanks in advance for any suggestions..

What type of computer are you using? Did you install the game completely, or do you use the CD to take information from?

I installed it using the "normal method".....

Originally I thought it WAS the mods since I installed them before I even began playing the game for the first time, but before I reinstalled it, I had completely gotten rid of the MVP folder...

It's an older computer by the way...

1.5 GHZ

512 RAM

GeForce 4 Mx

I had this problem. I figured out it was my Norton Internet Security. I had to go into the Firewall program and manually allow the MVP2005 file access to the internet. Once I had done that, it loaded up just fine.

Well I do have Norton Antivirus 2004, but I had closed down all background tasks on my system before starting the game. Like I said, I had this issue in last year's game, and it turned out to be a driver-related problem...But I don't think that's the case this time around since I already tried numerous ones.
