rickeysue
Check out this link to watch the previews for numerous video games from the past, including most of the classic baseball titles like Hardball, High Heat, All Star Baseball and Triple Play. If you feel like knocking MVP 2k5, look at these and you'll see how far the genre has really come. BTW, for those who are interested, this is also a great site to download free lossless soundboard recordings of most Grateful Dead concerts. Overkill
Tony LaRussa baseball on SEGA Genesis! That was the only way to go for me up until maybe High Heat 2002 came out for PC...I just loved that LaRussa game!
rickeysue
I remember playing Tony LaRussa on my 386 computer with the whopping 40 Mb hard drive. It was a great game for it's time. What I remember about the Hardball series for PC was that you could design your own team logos with the cheesy art program that was included in the game. I thought I was pretty slick in designing crude logos for each major league team. Keep in mind that I have absolutely no artistic talent. I was just happy at the time to have something that could remotely pass for an authentic logo.

SwinginSoriano
All Star Baseball 99, though too frickin easy on one-player was the first "realistic" baseball game in my opinion other. Too bad hitting homers was way too easy, otherwise it was a great game. That held me over until I tried MVP 2004, once I tried it I had to own it. Gamingboy
I also remember this game by Sierra... forgot it's name though.... you could simulate games... manage games.... it had lots of camera views for replay... (including a camera that was INSIDE THE BALL if I remember correctly), and it had a Hall of Fame. Anybody know the name?
ubrakto
It was Front Page Sports Baseball. Was a buggy mess till it was patched (if I remember correctly), but after that it was a quality PC baseball title (for the early to mid 90s). ---Todd

And like you could set what days you wanted your alternate uniform worn.... you could change your stadium from Astroturf to Grass and back again (not sure if that was actually part of the game, might have been only doable with a editor)... alot of features that I would have in my "Dream baseball game" (which would basically be a amalgamation of Front Page and MVP)
