kitm9891
I have a slight problem and I am really hoping someone can give me some advice on how to fix it. Let me begin by saying that I am playing on MVP difficulty level because I started to dominate All-Star level and I am definently glad I changed but there inlies the problem. I am giving up hits, I give up on average 8-10 hits a game, but they seem to get people on base and then cant bring them around to score. Im not so sure adjusting things like accuracy of pitches and their hitting will do much since they are already getting hits but for some reason they will not bring them around to score. In my last two games I have given up a total of 5 runs and 4 were scored on homruns and one was scored on a wild pitch by Nomo. Anyone have any advice on something that can remedy this? One question that struck me earlier tonight is this, if you have the computers batting contact and power at the same number does the computer then feel that they have just as good of a chance of hitting a homerun as they do of getting that key single therefor causing them to swing for the fences with runners onbase? This is the only thing I can think of, when I watch replays of the computer swings when they foul a pitch off it appears that they are constantly using an uppercut swing but with the bases empty their swings are much more balanced and basically just trying to put the ball in play more. If anyone has an opinion on this it would be greatly appreciated.

extravaboy
My players seldom get injured. Anyone has a good slider setting for injuries that makes the game a bit more realistic?
Kev72As
I just had the best game using Pared's sliders even tho I lost by one run. It was a very close game and I left my starter in the 8th. I made a mistake and I paid for it and lost my 1 run lead.

MarlinsFan
What are the best sliders to use with RodData2005?
JDF42
These sliders may work well for you if: 1. You are not looking for walks when you go up to the plate. If you are looking for walks, you won't get many with these settings.(not that I would know, my average AB is probably 3 ptiches!) 2. The only way you seem to be able to score is homeruns, now you should see less of those and more flyouts and regular hits. I still seem to hit more HR's than I like, but it keeps the game fun. I have hit about 12-15 HR's in the past 10 games. 3. You like an offensive game. If your pitcher is tired, hangs one or simply doesn't have that great of stuff, prepare to get pounded. On the flip side, when the seventh rolls around and they still have their starter laboring away, if you haven't got much off him...chances are if the CPU doesn't pull him, you will start hitting him as he gets careless. Or if you are facing that rookie pitcher, you might get your chance to "welcome" him to the bigs. 4. You want your game scores have a ton of variety and have realistic stats. Most games are in the 8-13 runs total range, for both teams. I have thrown shutouts, been shutout, scored 12 runs, had 12 scored on me, but many of the games are of the 5-3, 6-4 variety. I am playing my dynasty with the Twins and have 1 player who will hit 30HRs, a few in the 20s. I have 2 guys that will drive in 100 and maybe 2 in the 80's. My team ERA is high 3's, team BA varies from .290-.305. Anyhow, everyone plays different, I guess the only way you will know if these will solve any of your issues is to try them! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JDF42's All-Star Sliders --if setting is not listed it remains at 0 --I play with assisted fielding, so I didn't touch the user fielding speeds. I read that if you use assisted or auto, cpu speed controls your players as well. Please correct me if I am wrong. hardball33
stecropper ChuckkieB, Knowing that many factors influence what Sliders one should use even for CPU vs CPU games here are the ones I find provide fairly realistic results with the particular setup I play with: SLIDERS: CPU vs CPU Datafile: KSMs V0.5 Difficulty: All-Star Variable Strike Zone: OFF Variable "Stuff": OFF Blown Calls: On Rosters: Early '60s User Pitch Meter Difficulty: 0 Pitch Speed: 0 CPU Pitcher Ball Rate: -19 User Pitcher Fatigue: 0 CPU Pitcher Fatigue: 0 User Pitch Control: +10 CPU Pitch Control: +10 Bullpen Fatigue Rate: 0 Bullpen Fatigue Grace: 0 User Batting Contact: -47 CPU Batting Contact: -47 User Batting Power: -6 CPU Batting Power: -6 User Bunting Ability: -3 CPU Bunting Ability: -3 User Foul Ball Frequency: 14 CPU Foul Ball Frequency: 14 CPU Swing Frequency: -36 User OF Speed (Manual): -1 User OF Speed (MVP): -1 CPU OF Speed: -1 User IF Speed (Manual): -2 User IF Speed (MVP): -2 CPU IF Speed: -2 User Throw Speed: -3 CPU Throw Speed: -3 User Throw Accuracy: 0 CPU Throw Accuracy: 0 User Catch Errors: 24 CPU Catch Errors: 24 User Dive Difficulty: -11 CPU Catch Effort: 6 User Baserunning Speed: 1 CPU Baserunning Speed: 1 User Runner Aggression: 0 CPU Runner Aggression: 0 User Runner Steal Speed: 0 CPU Runner Steal Speed: 0 User Runner Steal Delay: -4 CPU Runner Steal Delay: -4 CPU Steal Rate: 6 Runner Injury Frequency: -44 Pitcher Injury Frequency: -28 Batter Injury Frequency: -28 Fielder Injury Frequency: -36 Pitching MG Difference: 0 These sliders are AWESOME!!!! I use them with KSM v5 also and I get the most realistic games there could be some are close and some are kinda one sided.. ie i beat KC with the Tigers 2-1 one game then won the 2nd 10-0 (I traded for Derek Lowe) then lost the 3rd game 5-3 all CPU vs CPU also i am using Ultimate Rosters 2.35 Thanks and great job witht them

Shef87
I don't understand why people mess with the sliders anyway... If you're finding that it's too easy, then just bump up the difficulty level? I used to play on All-Star for 2004 and for 2005 as well, but I found it too easy in the middle of one of my dynasties so I started a new one on MVP and it's perfect. Most games are close and some are one sided (in my favor and in the CPU's) The scores are realistic and all.
cybernetic
ok I'd like some slider suggestions.. I'd like to correct these things.. I play on pro 1. I hit far too many home runs 2. My pitching is far too good and I give up 1-3 runs per game at most and get a lot of shutouts with any of my pitchers 3. I get late jumps on steals and get thrown out a lot 4. I don't make a lot of contact for non-homers and hit a lot of weak popups, grounders, flyouts 5. I typically get low pitch counts and a lot of 3-pitch K's I tried on all-star but I can't get any hits and get shutout by 2 or 3-0 scores with 1 or 2 hits in the game.. I make all pitchers look like Cy Young caliber pitchers on all-star

bravesj858
why does pared have pitcher fatigue at -50? shouldn't it be +50 if you want to tire your pitchers by the 6th or 7th?
Spivey11
I don't think so, my pitchers are in the low 50s by the end of the fifth or sixth inning...

ixcuincle
I'd like some slider suggestions : I am the Washington Nationals in owner mode. It is basically IMPOSSIBLE to get a home run on pro. It is also impossible to score over 4 runs apparently. Constantly runners without my permission will try to run for 2nd when I am trying to bat , and obviously they get tagged out , meaning less opportunities. I don't know whether it's my extreme lack of patience or my tendency to swing at pitches outside the strike zone but over a period of 10 games I have only hit 3 home runs. I have been shut out 3 times and cannot score more than 4 runs. This is completely pathetic offensively. Please suggest any sliders that would improve my anemic hitting. Cash #25
Have you seen the real Nationals play this year? Sounds to me like you're getting totally realistic game play. A Nationals fan :wall:
ixcuincle
haahah it's pretty realistic , unfortunately the real life nats manage to score over 4 runs once in a while unlike these fantasy nats. I'll try some of the sliders suggested in previous posts and play around (really jack up the power to 50) if nothing happens then i might need to change teams
