moeberg
I downloaded the Patch and there is no change on the choppiness. I have a Radeon 9800 XT. Anyone have any luck?
indianajones
its a roster update, so it wouldn't fix any choppiness you might have
krawhitham
it is a roster update that happens to change the EXE plus updates resign.csv updates player progress (progress.big) updates rookie creation (rookie.big) updates the schedule (schedule.big)
The H
Krawhitham: I think the also did some 'invisible' work. The load times are faster (not that they were really slow before). It is noticeable. It's too early to tell and I have only played one game after patching it, but I think they tweaked some other stuff too.
Speedball13
Patch Wont Load error Patch old file not found,However a file of the same name was found. no update done since files contents do not match. what the hell does this mean. :?
The H
It means that you installed a roster set with updated DAT files and the patch needs and requires the default DAT files to complete its installation.
lasereye420
i'm guessing the patch doesn't like mods, it won't install on mine. error message: "old file not found. however a file of the same name was found. no update done since file contents d not match." reinstall everything just for the patch? naaaaw. The H
It's not the mods. It's the DAT files that most of us replace when we install any customized roster set. The patch needs the original ones to successfully complete its install process.
lasereye420
k, well i guess in the time i wrote that someone else had that prob.
The H
I didn't have to reinstall everything. The original DAT files are located in a file named 'compressed.zip' in CD1. Just extract them, replace them and run the patch. If you want to keep any changes you did to the roster, save an .mbe file with MVPEditor. As soon as the patch is applied, load up MVPEditor, open that .mbe and export its settings to the game. That way, you'll get the best of both worlds. The H
Btw, the DAT files you need are those in the 'datadatabase' folder.
lasereye420
already have it saved as .mbe file. just have to pull out the origional DAT files. eh don't feel like doing it tonight, i'll do it tomorrow.
A_Dub
Can somebody upload the regular dat files for me? I dont have my disc 1 and I cant use the patch. If somebody could lead me to where they are or upload them for me to a site that would be awesome.
tkrahling
Just out of curiousity why don't you have disk 1???
cb
Nothing against you A_Dub but, I usually believe that people that clim not to have the main disc don't really have the game. They don't want to pay.
A_Dub
Man Im not lying. I'm at my buddies house for the week and only have my 2nd disc becuase that is what you need to start the game up. cb
You sound like you're telling the truth and I believe you. However, It wont be easy to find someone to send you the files. I would help you out but I don't have the PC version yet. :|

Valiknicoff
I could explain why a Pirate is more likely to have the Game Files than a person that just doesn't have thier disk one. But if I went into Detail thats a no-no So trust me, he is most likely telling the truth about not having the disk 1 of the game he did purchase. When the patch is installed, will it's changes effect dynasties already in progress? (for anything that isn't just roster related?)
five
When the patch is installed, will it's changes effect dynasties already in progress? For anything roster related, it will not change within your dynasty. For gameplay issues, it will change in your dynasty. Your dynasty stats, etc. will not change. Rottz
What is the file sushared.big in the fronend/ directory for? It's the only file outside of the database/ directory changed that I could find, besides mvp2005.exe of course. *EDIT* Nevermind, I answered my own question, by finally realizing I could open it up in the EA Graphic editor. It's the license screen with Ichiro and says "Team Rosters current as of 2/20/05" thats why they updated it. All other changes must be in the exe
