MVP 2005 is Killing Me!

I just got MVP 2005 for PC. I owned 2004 last year and it was amazing and looked amazing. I don't have a good computer but ran it at 1024x768 32 and with all details set to high and it wasn't choppy and ran great. So looking at this years requirements they are almost the same so I got it and installed it. It got to the intro movie and it kept skipping and the voices of the people saying "It's In The Game" weren't in synch with the video. I was a little bit curious but decided to run the game at the same detail as last year. Well I couldn't get the player detail higher than low, but ran it anyway. I played at Safeco Field and boy was it terrible. The players faces were grotesque and their bodies looked strange and the grass looked like water and was moving around constantly. I ran it on 800x600 32 next and got the same thing. I looked at my drivers for my video card and decided to download the newest ones. They are the 66.94 drivers from NVIDIA. Well i then went to run MVP and it would come out and show Roger Clemens thing and then try and open the game but it would make a jumbled desktop thing and freeze my computer. Does anyone have any ideas? My Specs are:

PentiumIII 900mhz

Windows 98SE

256 RAM

NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X

DirectSound SB Live! Wave Out [9800]

I did the 3DAnalyze thing but it still won't change the detail. I can't afford an upgrade so that isn't an option. Any idea why the intro videos would be all messed up? And what is a .vp6 file. That is what type the intros are. What program opens that type up?

Seriously man, I not trying to be mean, but if you can't afford an upgrade then there will be some games that just don't run well for you. Truthfully that is a pretty outdated computer.

Ya I know but MVP 2004 worked great, so did NHL 2005 and other recent games. Could I just upgrade the mhz and the Ram or do I need a whole new one. I could maybe afford $300 or so.

I was having some issues even though I run a P4, because last year's game ran a lot smoother than this one, so I decided to overclock my videocard just slightly (+30 core, +20 mem) and now it runs as smooth as 2004.

dude, calm down. just get a new video card. If you wanna go longterm, get a new comp. If not get either a Radeon 9600 or GeForce 5900. I personally changed my video card (which was same as yours) for a Geforce FX5200 and now the game is working perfectly (high detail faces, etc.), but many people had the same problem as you with the low-detail being grayed out, and they had a Geforce FX5200, so I guess I was lucky.
