But is there a way to change it so it shows as the Expos?

Yeah, unlock their uniforms and stadiums. Why would you want it to show the Expos anways?

I unlocked all that but I don't want to play as the Nationals, I want to play as the Expos.

Why would I want to show the Expos? So I can enjoy the game, lol

Umm..wouldn't you think they might be an EXPOS fan instead of nationals, plus it's a canadian team, i'd rather keep them than giving them away to become one of the million american teams, the Jays better not leave canada or i'm gonna kill Bud Selig! We canadians would love some canadian teams

I think that when MVP Studio 2005 comes out, you will be able to use the "change team name" program to rename the Washington Nationals to the Montreal Expos

Don't worry, the Blue Jays won't leave Canada.

And if they did, it's be to Buffalo, which is the closest city in the US geographically to Toronto, so it'd be real easy for Canadians to get there.

But trust me, unless if the Skydome (I refuse to call it by a corporate name) suddenly disappears without a trace, the chances of the Blue Jays leaving Canada are something like 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%.

Okay, but back on topic.

It SHOULD be easy to change logos, Stadium and Uniform. BUT I don't think we could change what the announcers say.

To all of the Canadian fans here:

There's one simple way to keep your teams from leaving, by actually going to see the games. When there were games at Stade Olympique with less than 1000 people in the stands, what do you expect? Now I don't doubt that Loria screwed them over for years and years, but just because a team is from Canada doesn't mean they're allowed to be unprofitable.

I like the expos, and I'm playing my dynasty as the Nats now, but when your team is unprofitable even when seats are $5 each, there's a problem. Don't blame baseball for this, blame Loria and your fellow fans.

That was an excellent post. Now maybe the Expos fans will stop b****ing and moaning about MLB moving them.

I'm here to find out about mods for the game and not to ***** and moan. Isn't this about a game that is pure fantasy anyway? Isn't it a game where you can play a game with dead players in a ballpark that has been gone for decades??? All I came here to do is ask if it was possible and not to hear more opinions from people who don't know any better

Tell that to us Anaheim fans who have lost our team despite winning a world championship and drawing over 3 million fans two years in a row.

I hate to tell you junior, but just going and seeing the games isn't enough. If an owner wants to screw over millions of fans, they will. Loria did it, then MLB made it worse, and now Moreno is pulling the same thing. He'll move the team as soon as he gets the chance. Why? Because he has no loyalty to the area.

What's the point of loyalty if the organization isn't going to show it back? I don't care that the Angels are still playing in the same place, they're not the same team, nor do they represent what they did before. Expos fans had to deal with the same thing. They had a team there that they knew was leaving for 3,4,5 years. That's worse than if the team had just left, because they're still stuck with a team that isn't really theirs, rubbing their faces in it.

They were screwed over, plain and simple. They watched as their players were sold to the highest bidders, and saw their best chance at a championship washed away by a strike. Was baseball still viable there? Probably not, not with the way the situation was handled. But MLB should have looked into more options to keep the team in Canada, instead of the Puerto Rico experiment.

Your a god! And if Expos didn't get rid of all those players, then well they could be a contenders (Randy Johnson, Vlad, Larry Walker, and many more) Damn I'd be afraid to play against them 8O

Thats more like it. In 1994 the Expos were #1 for the first time in a long time.. We had an amazing team and everything was going right.. then the strike hit, and the dream of winning the World Series was over. Then, when baseball came back we lost all of our players despite them willing to take a paycut to stick together. That was a huge blow to the franchise, but the fans still did come back. Afterwards, the plan was to build a new stadium.. everything was going fine but it was called off because different levels of government didn't want to foot the bill. There was another huge blow.. then the team was sold to a bunch of morons in Loria and Samson who gutted the teams core players once again and fired the hugely popular manager Felipe Alou. Then, they took off for FLorida and left the Expos in the hands of the MLB. Basically, for the last few years the Expos didn't have an OWNER for god's sake!!! And you guys are saying that its the FANS fault for us not showing up after all that crap? Gimme a break. Oh and 1 last thing, for the last game in franchise history in Montreal, the MLB decided to raise ticket prices because they knew there was going to be a big crowd coming, just to put the squeeze on our wallets 1 last time before ditching us. Nice going.

The only problem with the Expos attendance is that the people in Montreal were too cheap to go and see their team. They claim to have loved them, but then they only listen to them on the radio or watch it on tv. If I lived in Toronto I would be there everyday. It sucks Vancouver has no MLB team, but there is no market for it. I just have my Canucks. Anyways, blame the lazy people of Montreal. They only care about the team when it leaves. Even then nobody showed up. It's sad. Put them into a different city in Canada and they would show up.

Hell, even TSN, CBC, RSN and other Candian news outlets said what I am saying. They lost it because they didn't care, save a few diehards.

Personally, i agree with lautzu. No owner would be dumb enough to leave their team in montreal. The reason that Toronto is still a baseball team is because the fans are good and american enough to actually go to the games.

Loria, of course, i give the blame to for not trying, But washington is a much better place to have a baseball team considering that people in that area are fans of sports. including baseball.

The reason that george steinbrenner makes a lot of money is because New York is a baseball city with 2 baseball teams and probably has they highest payroll for any city in history for any sport.

If you compare New York to Montreal, you will see that montreal is more of a hockey oriented city, not baseball. Therefore it is logical that a baseball team not be put there.

Its all about common sense and profit. Put yourself in the position of Loria. The easiesy way to throw away your money is to keep that team. I'm sorry the fans have to suffer the loss of their baseball team, but you are not the only ones who have suffered for this.

Before the dodgers moved to Los Angeles, the people of brooklyn LOVED them, and yet were probably 10 times as devasated to see their team move. I personally would not have liked it at all.

Good post HaloFan, it's nice to see someone understand the situation instead of bringing out all the same old weak arguements. The cheap one is a classic, as is "american enough". I guess his view might change when he hits puberty and gets out on the NY bubble

Ok, I came here to see if I could mod a game and I get answers from people who rely on newspaper articles for information

Read what HaloFan said, people he cared about baseball since the 1930's when we had the Royals aand Jackie Robinson but when you are told that your team is moving, being contracted, etc... do you still expect people to show up? When they do some dirty deal to get Loria to Florida so they can sell the Red Sox to Henry even when they had a higher bid from someone else and leave Montreal without an owner so that they can use the team as a bargaining chip in their negotaiations with the Players Union? When the ship Tavares here to be president and the first thing he does is tell people that it doesn't matter how many show up that the team will be gone? We were supposed to support a team owned by MLB that didn't allow September callups in 2003 even though they were tied for the Wild Card at the beginning of September? Please, lol, stop believing everything the lazy media fed you and look at the facts.

You mean the final day when they announced it at 4pm that day? Is that the final day you are talking about? The final day when Selig had a conference call to announce it yet didn't let the Montreal media know? The one where they raised ticket prices 50% just to screw us one more time? The one where over 30,000 still showed up? I think you should look at the attendance numbers in DC for their last "final" game in 1971 if you want to talk about nobody showing up for a last game

Okay, their attendance has been terrible for many, many years. It's not worth arguing with. They are gone. I wish they were still in Montreal, and I wish someone would have bought them and pumped some money into them. But no one was going to because they wouldn't get much of a chance unless they started to win the series. Even in late 2003 when they were competing for the NL Wild Card their attendance was still depressing.
