herodotus7
I am new to MVP Baseball, but have fulled around with High Heat in the past. HH editors had Latham. However, MVP edit and the game appear more difficult to manipulate. I see that one needs an mpe. file to mess around with rosters. How does one create an mpe. file so they can use Latham? And what exactly does Latham allow? Thanks.
stecropper
To create an .mbe file (which is the type of file that MVPEdit needs to allow you to edit an entire Leagues Roster) you can create one by "IMPORT"ing the default rosters from the MVP 2005 game into MVPEdit and then assigning it a name to be saved as an .mbe type file. MVPEdit uses the Lahman Data Base as input to create (i.e. "Import Team") any team from Major League Baseball history by importing such a team into an MVPEdit .mbe roster file. Gordo
Reviving this thread as I'd like to incorporate this into my next roster update if possible. I'm getting all types of error messages with this whether I try to import by team or individual. I DL'd Lahman's latest db (58) and put the mdb file in the main MVPedit folder, renaming it to 53 since this it what MVPedit recognizes. I followed Jim's instructions from another thread found in a search.... "Scroll down to find the team you want to import. In the "Import to Team" window, select the team that you want to overwrite. In the "Import Mode" window, make sure that "Replace" is checked and in the "Career Year by Year Stats" section, make sure that only "Import Until Team Year" is checked. Click the OK button and repeat this for every team you want to import." I can't even get past that point without a runtime error. When I try to do something by individual player, here's an example of what I get.... so if anyone has any thoughts, it would be appreciated:
Jim825
One thing to consider is that the internal format of the version 58 file may not be the same as the version 53 file. Can you import teams and players if you use the real version 53 file? If you can then it's a good bet that the file formats are different.
