don't reinstall yet, put in your first disk and open compressed.zip in there go to data/database folder, copy it all and paste it into the MVP05/data/database folder and the patch should work, you will just have to re-install any rosters you have downloaded

I did update to the latest drivers and the game was flickering real bad. I seem to have better results with a older driver version. It's just the EA sports games that I am having problems with. NBA 2005 and Madden 2005 both have had their issues, but with a older driver they work good??

you may have an agp conflict there, assuming your agp slot is 4x (or 2x) you may have gotten a card that is 8x only. theoretically it SHOULD be backwards compatible and MOST are. but some 8x cards are NOT, 8x and 4x carry different voltage signals o.8v vs. 1.5v. some manufacturers of vid cards don't build in voltage compatability. so that may be your problem. in other words check to see if the card is backwards compatible, or if it just says 8x, not, 8/4x or 8/4/2x. generally when you see the card is listed as 8x, 90% of the time it will work but it's still a roll of the dice. if this is your case, go exchange it.

then again you may have done it all correctly, since you mentioned other games ran correctly. but did you run the games long enough to notice any conflicts?

Thanks for your response! That might be it! I think my mother board is only 4x so that could be the problem? i will double check when I get home. I played a game of NBA 2005 and a little bit of Mafia and it seemed to work well. I think I will put the MX 440 64mb back in and use the 3D Analyze to be able to get the player detail to high.

Thanks

the box specs should tell you if it is 8/4x, if it says 8x, then that might indeed be the problem. if i were you i would exchange it, but i don't know the situation you're in, if you bought it off ebay, or used etc. if you can exchange it, just make sure the specs clearly state 8/4x or 8/4/2x, that way you won't be gambling again. there are plenty of new cards that allow for the backwards compatability. like i said 90% of them do even if they are labeled only 8x. but you may have gotten the one manufacturer in 10 that doesn't. i've been shopping for a newer card, and have noticed a few of the fx5200 nvidia powered cards labeled as 8x only in the specs.
