tommy8412
So in messing with the sliders or im just nuts the higher you put contact seems like you lose power.. i was using jistics sliders from OS and he has the contact set at 40.. I couldnt hit the ball out of the infield.. i moved it back down to 0 and i was making solid contact and actually getting shots out of the infield. seems like raising yes you have better contact but the good contact goes away and this is with power set at 20.. You put it back at zero yes your wide hitting zone shrinks but you make better contact.. Im playing with the Marlins as well.. can someone test this and let me know what you find.. cuz maybe im just nuts lol :D

Kelvarr
Interesting...I'll test on mine...my contact sliders are set at 15, I will try lowering them to see if I start getting more pop in my hits (Power at 10).
AcousticNut
I can see where that is possible. Maybe now that the contact zone is wider you're getting more hits on the 'fringe' of the contact zone, where before you would have swung and missed. I would think of it like using one of those big red wiffle-ball bats (Contact +50). You'll hit the ball a lot more, but a smaller percentage of contacted balls are going to be coming off the sweet spot resulting in pop-ups and weak grounders. Interesting observation
tommy8412
i tested again and got the same thing.. smaller contact = a larger sweet spot and larger did the opposite.. i guess i wasnt too nuts then lol... anyone put the cpu at negative # in contact? with still having the power at 20? i would think if you miss with a pitch with the contact lower for the cpu you would get hammered.. cause as of right now the cpu doesnt hammer my mistakes too bad but if you put negative maybe they punish your mistakes more? just an idea.. :D
olyrunner
tommy, I've played a few games bringing human contact back to zero, and I don't know if it's just me seeing what I want to see or what (or maybe we're both just crazy) but I am making "better" contact. I say better because I am still battling my own personal swing-at-everything "bug". But when I swing at a good pitch, I am hitting better (not as many weak pop-ups). I forgot about bringing the CPU contact up to zero. Right now I do get punished pretty badly when I don't hit my pitches. I'll give this setting (back to zero) a try and let you know how it goes. These sliders sure have me confused this year, trying to figure out when a negative really is a negative, or a negative is a positive. Ouch, my head hurts. tommy8412
haha dont think too hard cuz that deff makes it worse i think the contact slider just increases or decreases the hitting zone.. not the kind of contact you make with the bat.. so a larger zone means weaker hits.. i like it at 0 as it seems to vary a little more weak hits to gap shots..
