I tryed to install the new patch and everytime it says "Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match" Not sure what exactly that means. Thanks in advance

Do what I do, download the patch, and use that for online play. Then use a MVPMods roster update for your Owner/Dynasty Mode.

Looks like you are using some downloaded rosters. Restore the original and run the patch again.

Lucas's statement assumes you backed up your original roster files by copying them to any other folder on your PC....these original roster files are those which were added during the initial installation of the game on your PC...and would be in your Program FilesEA SPORTSMVP Baseball 2005datadatabase folder.

If you use a modded roster which asks you to intall modded files to this folder so as to overwrite the original files you will not be able to run the patch. I came across the same error.

Apparently it recognizes the file(s) as the correct name(s) but something internal to the file(s) is/are different relative to the original, and the patch appears to have a fail safe to detect this and stops the patch intsall.

To fix this, as Lucas pointed out, is to copy your original roster files back into your ...MVP Baseball 2005datadatabase folder....assuming, as I stated earlier, you made a back-up copy of the default roster files somewhere else on your PC.

If you did not, I am not sure how to get around it besides a re-install of the game. But I think you can do a custom re-install and just re-install the specific roster files which were modded. Do a search, I think I ran across a thread which talks about this.
