RedSoxFox7
I knew from previous versions of MVP that you can simply rename a stadium's BIG file and play it as another stadium. For example, if you wanted to make the Polo Grounds the default home field for the Red Sox, you just rename poloday.big to being fenwday.big. Now any time you choose Fenway, you're actually playing at the Polo Grounds. Now, that little explaination aside, we know that the venuday.big and venunite.big files are for the Create-A-Park's in Dynasty mode. So I got a little curious to see what would happen if I loaded one of those as a regular park. I made a copy of venuday.big, backed up my aaa2nite.big, and renamed my venuday copy to being aaa2nite. What I got was a little interesting to say the least: As we all know, you can't go past the walls in replay mode, right? Well, kind of. Notice anything odd about this screen shot, other than it being from behind the bullpen wall? How about the three foul poles? That's right, there's three of em!! When the Venu files are loaded up like normal parks, everything you can possibly add to your stadium is loaded up together. On top of that, all 4 styles of stadium are loaded on top of eachother. The result is that only one of the 4 outfield walls actually works as a barrier, and it happens to be behind another of the walls in certain points. I didn't play long enough to find out what kind of weird issues might pop up if a ball rolled to the wall. I wanted to post this screen shot first. My next move is to see what happens if a normal park gets renamed to the Venu files.
APR
LOL, I would have never thought to do that. It looks really weird.
Overkill
Sounds good! I kinda wouldn't mind knowing/seeing what happens...it would avoid me having to test it out for myself!
RedSoxFox7
I can say one thing for certain, KC fans that do well in Owner mode will be very happy with one of the possible park mods.
RedSoxFox7
LOL, I would have never thought to do that. It looks really weird. Well, I want to try using OEdit to replicate the minor league parks for the Red Sox affiliates. As it turns out, the park the Portland Sea Dogs (AA) play in looks very similar to the base park you get in the beginning of Owner mode. I'm hoping I can mess around with it a bit, make it look a little more like Hadlock Field (home of the Sea Dogs), and replace one of the AA parks with it. Depending on how hard it is for me to do that, I may try to edit AAA #2 to being a little more like McCoy Stadium (home of the AAA Pawtucket Red Sox). RedSoxFox7
Well, I just tried replacing Venuday.big with a regular stadium... big 'ol crash. So it works one way, but not the other.
mflv
I tried that about a week ago and noticed that too. It seems to be all possible upgrades at once. The really strange thing I noticed was that the day version had a kind of pink orange infield color but natural grass. The night version had artificial turf and a more normal looking infield. Here's the question, though. If the result of this is all possible upgrades, then there must be another file that regulates what shows up. Kind of like the Profile file showing what's unlocked. If we can figure out what file that is and how to manipulate it, we can have free access at creating whatever stadium we want without having to go through Owner mode to do it!!!!! Anybody have any ideas on this?

Anybody have any ideas on this? My guess is that the Owner Mode SAV file is what regulates it. That's why you need to load the Owner profile if you want to play at a created stadium in Dynasty Mode, Exhibition Mode, etc. As far as I know, nobody has been able to figure out the SAV files from MVP03 or 04, so I'm thinking it's unlikely that the Owner Mode SAV's will be deciphered. But there's always the possibility that someone will have a breakthrough. In the meantime, I'm going to try to teach myself OEdit, and see if there's anything I can do with that to make changes to the Venu files.
RedSoxFox7
Alright, I got the mdstadium file for Venuday.big loaded up in OEdit and went crosseyed. This is way outta my league. That's a shame too, I really wanted to make Hadlock field for the SeaDogs.

RedSoxFox7
Okay, but there is still the option of creating various levels of stadium and uploading the owner.sav files for others to share. This is true, I think it's also possible for the talented modders that can actually use OEdit to pump out pretty much any combination you can create in owner mode. My comment about nobody cracking EA's SAV files was meant to say that it's unlikely a 3rd party utility (like MVPEdit) would be released that would allow you to create any type of stadium with a SAV file, and use it in owner mode. OK, I've started to confuse myself, here's what I think is possible: 1. Legitimately making money, building up parks, and trading the SAV files for those parks/owner modes. (Definitely possible) 2. Using OEdit to dissect venuday.big and venunite.big, and then mix and match the various owner mode stadium modifications. If this is possible, new BIG files will be created, and can be used to replace any of the stadiums already in the game. (very good possibility) What I don't think is possible: 1. A third party utility to edit the owner mode SAV files, allowing you edit your stadium outside of owner mode, thereby not needing any money for your modifications.
