chuccck
ok, Im still a noob when it comes to modding but i came upon something very interesting. I opened up the attrib.dat from the database folder, which holds all the players attributes, in wordpad and saved it as a text file. I then went excel a did a text import into spread sheet adn VOILA! All that crazy text is converter into a nice spread sheet. Now, excel has a sort function but there is so much data that you would have to copy the names and the certain attirbute to a new worksheet. I copied all the players names and topprospect and star power attributes. What i found was an easyily accesible top prospect list and how well their "stardom will grow". Even more interstingly is there are only 6 players that are top prospects (marked by a 1 in the attrib.dat) that have teh highest star power(a value of 4) and they are as follows: Andrian Thomas Jay Travica Chris Watson Rick Wendell Matt Williamson this is the roster from the new patch from ea, so these are the made up names. Has anyone seen these players shine down the road in their dynasty? The next down level of star power have very little if any difference between four because, matt derkson and g. rushton are both 3's and are my reigning mvps in each league in 2011. I wasn't sure if anybody has been able to analyze this or if any one cares. If there is some interest and people reply and/or people struggle importing the file, which isnt that hard, i will write a tutorial (MY FIRST TUTORIAL!) for everyone. Please, i want to hear everyone's thoughts on this. Being a newbie, i want to contribute to mod community as much as i have enjoyed it.
chuccck
I was wrong on the sort part of the best players or the ones with the most star power and are top prospects. The right list is Joe Mauer Rickie Weeks Wayne Collier Matt Dersken Kristopher Morales these are the guys who were top prospects and will grow to be the best. The list of non top 100 prospects who will grow to a 4 star value is a lot longer and include greats like krukow, chris smallenberg, and yakasakitagacuchi wahtever this guys name is... DirtyDozen
Does the attrib.dat file also show the player ratings, like contact & power, right vs left, etc.?
