Is a camera angle like this even possible?

Just wondering if this kind of angle (behind the plate) would be possible in MVP 2005 by modding the datafile. For a batting view? Or does the games limitations prevent it? Thanks

I would like to see a camera angle taken from the stands (spectator view), so when you watch the computer play against computer, you can feel like you are in the stands.

What seat would you what to sit in?

Theres to many to choose from 3rd base/ 1st base/ bleecher bum / nose bleed etc.

In game Mod's it should be more about game play and fixing what EA or others don't get right.

Not watching a game. Because the best place to watch any game at any time is MLB.com TV. Watch all the games you want.

in the first two Triple Play games for the Genesis, they had a batting view kind of like that. Wan't as high up, but more or less the same view.

but they also made pitches curve unrealisticly so you could see them, curveballs went out like 10 feet and ended up still going over the plate

Thanks all. With the help of a very nice member who got me started, and toymenater's tutorial, I'm getting closer to this angle. One quick question though.

As you can see in the screen shot below, the center of focus is the city in the background, instead of the stadium itself. Are there any camera variables in the datafile that change the center of focus? So the entire field would be viewable? Basically what I want to do is move the entire stadium upward, without changing the angle or zoom. Hope I explained that ok :) Thanks

Thanks five. Just tried that but it didn't seem to have any effect. I also tried 30 and 31 which were all set to 0.000, but they didn't seem to affect anything either.

EDM, that is the EXACT fielding view I am trying to get as well. I know variable 41 controls the pitch, which angles the camera head up and down- looks to me like you need to make it more negative to center the view. It doesn't work in degrees- so you may have to play with it a little. If you send me along your datafile entries for the variables- or just a copy of the line of code- I'll play with it too. If you figure it out first PLEASE post your settings- as I have been looking for a cam like this since last year! Thanks!!!!

Yeah...I was hoping edm would fill us in- but I guess this thread got a little buried...Maybe he's moved on to other things...I'd love to get this view working properly- So anyone who has had success with a blimp view- please let me know. Many thanks!

I think I got it down. Look, it's the Uecker Cam:

blimpcam.jpg

It's a tiny bit off-center, as the camera seems to be pointing just to the left of second base, but it doesn't bother me. I can't seem to figure out the heading entry in the datafile...I may monkey with it a bit more, I may not.

If anybody's curious as to the datafile settings, here you go...changes I made are in bold:

Grab this, it will make it easier to get started.

Once you've decompressed it, just edit it in wordpad or something and when you're finished just compress it back up.
