goose
Quick update: Lost 2 out of three against the Bosox and am 12-11 for July. The offense has just sort of died on me as I'm getting shut down by mediocre pitchers now.Especially my speedy guys have gotten shut down. And without speed on the bases I am in deep deep trouble. It's is now a 3 team race. I'm back in first place, for now anyways, I'ma game ahead of the Yanks and 1.5 ahead of the Sox Hell of a race going on here. But if I dont get my hitters hitting again, and my speedsters on the basepaths, I don't think the Rays will make it :? goose
I might post a few pics here or there.Prolly just web gems and things of that nature though. Quick update: Fossum pitched the worst game of the season so far since joining the rotation.Gave up 3 runs in 5 2/3 innings but still got the win.He is 3-3 and his era sits at 2.45. Now 2 up on the Yanks and Red Sox, who are tied for the lead in the wildcard. Aubrey Huff now has a 15 game hitting streak, while Victor Martinez has a 9 gamer. Crawford went 0-4 with an rbi in his last game and the average is down to .264.I'm gonna let him hit in the leadoff spot for the remaining two games in July, but after that if he still hasnt turned it around, I'm moving him down in the lineup. Aubrey Huff had a 15 game hitting streak snapped and Victor Martinez currently has a 12 gamer going. Crawford in his last three games went 5-12 so he stays in the leadoff spot for now. Nothing major happened at the trade deadline really. The biggest trade was: Anahiem trading Darin Erstad and Benji Molina to the Chigaco White sox for Joe Crede and Jose Contreras. goose
Found something remarkable when I was looking over my team stats. Mark Hendrickson has yet to walk anybody. In 137.2 innings pitched he has 0 base on balls. That is astonishing. Danny Baez hasnt walked anybody either but he has only pitched 36 innings. The rest of my pitchers have normal walk numbers though. No wonder he has a 1.63 era. 8O

goose
None taken. I've found that everything pretty much evens out.And it gets me realistic stats and thats the goal. But even with power at 50 I still dont hit many home runs.Of course I dont usually hold up at all when I swing,Found I popped up too much. Whatever, like I said it still gets me realistic stats and thats all that matters.

goose
Nah its cool. I seem to get homeruns when I make perfect contact on a pitch either down the middle or up in the zone. One thing I've noticed is that when I do hit homeruns, swings tend to be quicker so maybe thats the key.Bat speed. I kinda like it this way, woth home runs few and far between it makes them seem like more of an accomplishement.
RAM
you were right goose, as my season gets deeper, the games get tougher. at one point i was up by 12.5 games in the NL EAST (nationals) june came and i had my first losing month dropping my lead to 4.5 games up on atlanta. goose
Quick update: The D-rays have caught fire and have done it at the right time.Have won 11 out of the last 15 and I'm 4.5 games up on the Yanks and 6.5 up on the Red Sox. I'm 7-1 in August. Speaking of hot Dewon Brazelton is going good as well.He has won 5 straight starts and is 12-7 while shooting himself up to #5 on the Cy Young voting. goose
Quick Update: Gonazlez sprained his finger while sliding head first into second base on a double. He is out for 10 days.A platoon of BJ Upton and Josh Phelps will play third until he returns. After a sweep of the Orioles the D-Rays had their 4 game streak snapped at the hands of the Indians. Rob Bell took the loss and CC Sabathia won.Victor Martienez was given the day off but will play against his former team in the remaining two games.Scott Kazmir will not pitch against his former team in this series. Speaking of Bell, he has had a difficuly second half so far. After having a Satana like first half (11-3 2.35 era), he has gone 2-2 with I'd guess around a 5.30 era.Rob has been having lots of trouble with the long ball, giving up 3 more to the Indians. Also the D-Rays won their 70th game by beating the Orioles to match the Frachise record for most wins in a single season.Their next win will make this time the winningest in Frachise history. 8O Edit: Mark Hendrickson pitches his best game of the year. Not only was it a complete game shut out (5-0 was the score), and along with the 8 k's, the amazing thing was he only threw 61 pitches!!!! He had thrown 9 pitches threw three innings!!! 8O 8O 8O And with that win the 2005 devil rays are offically the winningest devil rays in team history. Also Huff and Crawford have gotten hot. Huff has 3 or more hits in 4 straight games, and crawford has raised his average back up to .272 9-2 on the month.

goose
I got a feeling its just me, his ratings arent that spectacular.I dont honestly think any of these pitchers aside from maybe fossum are as good as I am making them. Speaking of pitching, Brazelton had his 5 game winning streak snapped against Texas. He pitched 5.1 innings and gave up 4 runs. Colome came in and gave up 4 more runs in 3 innings with 3 homers in an eventual 8-4 loss.I had been thinking of grooming colome to be my future closer, but his weakness of giving up alot of long balls concerns me.His era is up near 4 now. Victor Martinez had his best game as a Devil Ray so far. He went 4-4 with 2 homers and 3 rbi's, including a mammoth shot in the 8th that went 492 feet, the longest homer hit in the Devil Rays new stadium. goose
Update: I'm in the green!!!!!!! I have plus 661k in the bank.still have 4 games left on this home stretch,One against the Indians which has a 7/10 impact and a 3 game series agaisnt the Angels which are 6/10.So I should have about 2 million by the time I go on the road. Also colome gave up another home run, his era is now 3.97.

goose
Update: Victor Martinez hit his 11th homer of the year against the Angels in an interesting game.Brazelton was pitching fine until the 5th when he was leading 3-0.He then gave up back to back singles and walked a guy to load the bases. After getting 2 K's he gave up a Grand Slam to Dallas McPherson.Colome was brought it to the 7th and gave up a homer to Vlad.Thats 3 straight appreances in which he has given up a homer. In the 8th Carl Crawford was injured stealing his 99th base of the year.He is out for 13 days with a strained rib cage 8O So Gathright was brought it to replace him.In the 9th Martinez hit his homer to make it 5-4.Gathright then came up in his first AB and doubled in the tieing run.In the 11th the Angels took the lead on a homer by Molina to make it 6-5.In the bottom of the 11th Gathright again drove it the tying run.The D-Rays then won the game on a game winning signle by Baldelli. I dont think I can remember a time that I have lost an extra inning game. Gathright raises his average to .256 and will play LF while Crawford is out.
