In video options, i can't find the 16 bits! All i have is 32! Anyone here know how to get the 16 bits resolution? Cause i want to play in 1024x768x16 and not in 32!

Thx in advance!

Why would you want to play with lower colour depth?

I think it's possible that your graphics card doesn't support it, at least not in certain environments. Not saying that's the case, but it's an idea.

I have a 6600 gt card and i have no problem setting the resolution in 16 bits in MVP 2004 but not in MVP 2005!

Even more of a reason to ask the question that MarkB asked...why would you want to go down to 16 bit color with a kick *** vid card like that one????

In MVP 2004, I tried to go to 16bit to help my performance, but it resulted in some missing textures...

32bit is twice as good as 16bit ;)

The reason is i have some PC choppiness with 32 bits in MVP 2005, and with 16 bits in MVP 2004 it run very smoothly, no choppiness at all.

If what I've been reading is true regarding the choppiness, you don't need to lower the load on your video card, you need to increase it....makes no sense, but that's EA for you.

Try cranking up AA and AF in your video card control panel and see if that helps the choppiness.

i don't think the 16 bit option is available this year, i've tested the game on 3 cards and have yet to see the option, maybe someone has. personally i don't care for 16 bit, but i'm just letting you know so you don't drive yourself nuts!

the choppiness is a universal problem, that many, including myself since i just upgraded my vid card are experiencing. i've noticed 3 things, on my ati 9600 i was stuck at low deail- card was bad got it used- oh well never do that again- but played smooth. on my 7500-low detail played smooth through 3danalyze w/ high detail. on my new card radeon 9250 game looks great yet a little chop. go figure. some have the problem some don't. last i read somebody got an email from EA saying that they are finally noticing a problem on "some" vid cards and choppy play and are addressing it. they'll eventually patch it i imagine, just don't hold your breath it'll probably be a while. look in some of the other thread for suggestions on what you can try to help in the meantime.

I just installed my old card(gfx 440) and they display the 16 bit! But the choppiness is worst now! Well, back to my 6600gt!

I have a Dell Inspiron XPS laptop w/ATI MR9800 (256MB) and I was having stuttering problems as well (EA Tech Support told me they do not test their games on laptops and therefore do not provide technical support for laptop gaming). Go figure! Anyhow, I followed the advice on this forum and cranked up my AA to 6x and AF to 16x (highest quality settings, Vertical Sync on, and game resolution at 1280x1024) and WOW what a difference that made in gameplay. The game is now enjoyable! I still get some horizontal tearing across the middle of the screen at times but the gameplay is much smoother now and the resolution can't be beat (WUXGA screen) :D . Still hoping EA puts out a patch though! By the way, I am using Dell's latest MR9800 driver. Take care.
