Thanks, also how do you edit your config for changing pages in the pitch history? I can open it but for some reason its not letting me move to previous atbats. Also how do you select a baserunner when you want to select a certain one to control, like if you have a runner on first sometimes it doenst give you control of the runner right off the bat for if you want to steal. Or say you have a runner on 1st and second and you just want the guy at second to be controled. Im not seeing the commands for alot of things in the .cfg file, and its hard to figure out how to change them.

When you view it, hit the L1 and R1 buttons to scroll through the history.

Use the X and O keys, the other keys across from the DPAD, on the PS2 controller it is X, O, Triangle, and Square. They correspond to the bases, just look at the PIP overlay and it'll highlight whomever you have selected.

What is better for MVP and other games... the X-box controller or the PS2 controller moded to a PC???

...i'm still using a crappy Logitech controller that loses calibration half the time in the middle of a game and am looking to get something better...

Actually thats not working at the moment L1 and R1 are not turning the pages, Im asking how do you program the .cfg to do so.

THats not working right either, when I push the buttons for the corisponding bases it doesnt select runners, Im lost as how to change this in the .cfg file as well.

paraphrasing: I am pressing the right buttons on the controller, they just aren't working correctly

Now that I understand the problems I'll try and give a ponder a little later tonight, going to watch a little TV first.

My question to you: which are you more comfortable with? I would just go with the one you are used to. If it doesn't matter to you, then I don't know.

They both work well, once you get the .cfg sorted. If you get one of the ps2 adaptors on my faq, I can guarantee .cfg compatibility and you won't have the same headaches as vinestal* and others.

Has anyone got this pad (xbox wusb adaptor) to fully function? I'm using the settings Deznuts posted, but somethings work and others don't. The int walk and int hit, does not work. The pick off a player no workie.

Yeah, I can't get those to work either. I don't use them all that much but it would be nice to be able to. My Saitek P880 had the perfect config automatically. :(

Deznuts,

Are you having the same problem as vinestal*, as far as selecting runners and scrolling the popup menu?

Vinestal*,

I know you're probably using dez's .cfg file, but do you mind posting it, so I could take a look at it.

You're using the xbox s controller? Could you post a pic?

Is this an accurate picture, I was just trying to get an idea of what it looked like:

I think since, the xbox controller only has two triggers, this config is going to be highly personal.

Looking at the .cfg, offhand, these keys need to be assigned something:

VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L1= button 9

VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R1= not_assigned -1

VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L2= not_assigned -1

VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R2= button 11

VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_L3= not_assigned -1

VPAD_VIRTUAL_BUTTON_R3= not_assigned -1

Can you press down on the analog sticks, if so assign them the L3 and R3 buttons. For the L1 and R1 you could use the triggers and possibly for the L2 and R2 you could use the buttons that are below the XYAB buttons. (Silver and black buttons)

Deznuts,

Are you having the same problem as vinestal*, as far as selecting runners and scrolling the popup menu?

Well, I edited my config so those things work now. I just can't intentionally walk, pitch out, pick off basemen, etc.

Here are pictures of the Xbox Controller S. It is different than the Xbox Duke Controller you posted. That was the old controller. This is the new Controller S...

The left and right sticks are already assigned, those are buttons 9 and 10.

You need to assign them to L3 and R3. You can assign them to wherever, but I think your problem is with the code I posted earlier. You don't have R1, L2, L3 or R3 assigned at all. It is creating problems for you.

There are no L3 or R3 buttons on the Xbox controller. There are only the two shoulder triggers (L1 and R1) and the two analog sticks can be pushed in as buttons (L2 and R2). Then there are six right thumb buttons (X, Y, A, B, White, and Black) and two left thumb buttons (Back and Start) as you can see in the following picture.

I posted my working Xbox controller config on Page 1. Pickoffs work fine. I don't have the intentional walk or hit-batter buttons set-up. Just the essentials. It works great. My controller is the Xbox classic.

Good luck.

Guys... after wasting a day reading the forums and trying to get this pad (xbox) to work properly (everything mapped just like on the xbox or PS2), I gave up and bought a PSX USB adaptor $10.49 from radio shack and a PSX 1 (white) Dual Shock controller $9.99 @ ToysRus. I had this pad set up and working flawless in less then ten minutes. The vibration works much better then the xbox. The response is a tad less then the xbox controller but the overall experience is so much better the the Logotech Dual Pad I have. I have the PSX pad set exactly like the Logitech pad.

  • 3 weeks later...

great post this is , i got my big old xbox controller out, modded it to a usb and everything works great, i'm wondering about sliding is the right stick still used to slide left , right , headfirst etc. or would i have to enter some commands for this,i tried sliding left and right but runner just seemed to go headfirst all the time, maybe i was pushing up a bit, anyone know if the r stick works for sliding with the configs posted in this thread, thanks.

yes, use the drivers I referred to and the config I posted.

ok, i'll try again and see maybe i was just not pushing correctly on the stick, i am using your config by the way, thanks again.

No problem. Yes, pushing the stick directly up does a headfirst, up and to the right / left does a takeout slide, directly down is feetfirst into the base, and down and to the left / right does your hookslides.

pushing straight up will barrel over the catcher

as far as fielding, pushing straight up will also climb walls where applicable. other dives should be self-explanatory.. just base it on the sliding.. works the same way.

ok, the diving works fine :) but i can't get pickoffs to work, in the config it says buttons 2 (for 1st) button 3 (for 2nd) 4 (for 3rd) but all that does is pitch the ball, how do i incorporate a modifier button like when playing on xbox where it was L trigger plus buttons for corrisponding bases?
