has anyone tried making a batting view that is lower, more like a hh low camera view, all the batting views in this game to me are to high, i always feel like i'm looking down when i'm batting instead of looking more straight ahead, hope that mkaes sence, thanks.

I made one that was exactly like what you are asking for, and I love it. I can see the breaking balls a lot better, and everything that is low in the strike zone looks right finally. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to post a screenshot in the forums to see if anyone else would like to try it. :( I think I will try to upload the datafile with a picture later this morning to see if that works.

I just submitted it, so I would imagine it will be showing up soon. Let me know if it is what you were looking for. I really enjoy it.... it basically saved the game for me. I couldn't hit nor draw walks to save my life before, but it really helped me.

jasonbr123,

Can you please post here the exact values (and its corresponding lines in the datafile) for this cam view?

I'd like to just edit my current datafile instead of replacing it with a brand new one (in this case, yours).

15 -164.000 16 28.000 17 -164.000 53 33.00

I changed them for view 5 because it seemed kind of useless, but it would work for any one of them. I think I need to work with the zoom, though... the zoom works good at 33.00, but I think I need to work on "perceived zoom" or whatever the other zoom field is called. I don't really want a "fish-eye" effect, but I would like to move the pitcher out farther.

The lines I used are:

0xe338e16d

0xe9171bda

0x4a55214e

0xbfaa95b

Hey Jason, the batting cam is just what I've been waitng for. Perfect for my need. You can judge every type pitch from that view. I'm now getting some walks whereas I was swinging at those low pitches that look like they were strikes.

GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!

sask3m, Are you on the xbox? if you are the numbers that need to be changed are different

yeah i am on xbox, what i did was to repack jasonbr123's

datafile.txt into my xbox datafile.big, then i unpacked and opened the datafile.txt as it was then uncompressed, i found the lines and did the edits, it works fine, the xbox datafile.txt looks a bit different but the pc one seems to work just fine on my xbox, also if anyone wants the same type of camera view but using the batters eye view, find the line batterview1, there are 6 or so of them, change the #16 entry from 47 to 30, its then very similar to jasonbr123's except its batter's eye view, i like it much better than the original. thanks again jasonbr123 :), but geez that grass sure is hard on my eyes, feel like i might have a seizure, hope i get used to it.

ps: here are the lines i edited to get the lower cam in the hitters eye view1 (or whatever its called),

0x921223bd

0xb52e28d6

0xdec1df31

0xf5dfcb10

0x13f4d7e

0x32318de9

0x5af355d7

0x78635d4a

again just change the #16 entry from 47 to 30, or experiment for yourself.

UncleMo,

Are you decompressing your datafile?

Based on your 'when i open the data.txt file it is just garble gunkle' comment, I don't think you're doing it. If so, go ahead and download a file called 'Datafile-Tools-1.0' that I just uploaded.

Extract it to any given folder, but make sure the datafile.txt you're trying to mod is also in that same location. Run the decompress.bat file and you'll see that the size of the datafile.txt will change (from something like 730kb to around 4.3MB).

Then, open it with notepad (and make sure you've got the word-wrapping option enabled), and look for this line 0x7c9e6865. Once you find it, look for value number 12 and change it to 1.00 from 0.00.

The 1.00 will re-enable the batter walk-up music.

After changing the value, save the file, close it down and run the recompress.bat file included in my pack. Once again you'll notice that the size of the file will change, but this time, it will decrease from 4.3MB to around 730kb. After it has finished with the recompressing process, copy the new datafile.txt to the data folder of your MVP install.
