amuroray2000
Once the time comes, will EA release a patch for those schedules? Or are they not allowed to because of the new MLB license contract? So if they can't release a patch, are there going to be any modders out there to work on a schedule mod once those schedules are released? I really don't want to move on to another game. I like the MVP series.
mflv
A new schedule is generated by the game but it won't be accurate. Haven't heard of a schedule patch by EA. They'll be more interested in having you buy the next version of the game. They don't want you to keep playing this one.
amuroray2000
I thought they weren't allowed to make any new versions till the next seven years because Take Two bought the exclusive third party rights to the MLB license. I'm not sure if this will also prevent them from releasing a patch just for the new schedules in those seven years.
mflv
Really? You mean this is the end of MVP? Or will we have 30 teams made up of Jon Dowd?
amuroray2000
It's not necessarily the end. They just won't be making anymore MVP games till seven years. That's when the contract expires. The only game available out there will be that ESPN game. I guess this is a little revenge when EA bought the exclusive NFL rights. I'm surprised not many people have heard about it. mflv
Well that sucks. If this is the last version for 7 years, they could have at least given us the ability to update rosters and keep playing.

Sean O
Yes, for a summary, MVP 2005 technically isn't the last game ever, from what EA is saying MVP 2006 will come out right around December 31, 2005, or Take 2 will allow a new one to come out in March of 2006 since it was already under development. That, however, will be the last one any of us will be able to play for a long long time. It sucks, but oh well, we can deal. We better just hope 2006 is one hell of a game.
