dochase
I want to add the user made cleats, batting gloves, etc made for 2004 to 2005. The readme by Kerm for his cleats are for 2004 and it looks like there is a differnet procedure for adding to MVP 2005 models. Can someone explain how I make these changes in 2005. I'm thinking I have to unpack models.big and then the .fsh files for each uniform to change anything on them, but this looks to be time consuming. Is there any way to globally add the items to each version of each uniform, or do I have to do each uni for each team one by one? Any help is appreciated. five
I did a huge batch file for the cleats last year, before the cool unis packs came out.
dochase
Bigbully, Can you give me a quick tutorial on how to add these to the unis in 2005? KC's uni pack is great but I'm on a lower end machine and just want to change a few things. His high res unis slow my game some, otherwise it runs fine. I downloaded your batting gloves and shoes but your readme doesn't tell how to import them into the stock 2005 uni. Thanks D
bigbully
Here's the "correct" way to do it...extract the .fsh file (from models.big) you want to change. Open the .fsh w/nfshtool (right-click, open with). This creates a folder w/all files and their alpha. Then you can put whatever shoe/glove you want in and rename it to the proper file you're overwriting. IMPORTANT - w/nfshtool, this must be a 24 bit bmp. Also, some files you're importing may be a different size, for instance...a stock shoe is 128x64, but many modded shoes are 256x128. If this is the case, after you put the new file in the created folder, right click on index.fsh and open with notepad. Find the corresponding # of the modded file you're looking for - it will have the stock size of 128x64 - you'll need to change it to 256x128 (if this is the correct size). Once this is done, save the notepad file and then open the index file again but this time w/nfshtool - this will "repack" your .fsh file. Then you can import it back into the game via batch or FuzZ's, soon to be released, Studio. I know this is a lot of information - remember...ALWAYS back up your original files before attempting to mod them. The easiest way to learn nfshtool is to use it and learn from your mistakes. dochase
Thanks for the info. Before you gave me this info, I had used eagraph to export/import umpire unis and changed the shoes. The umpires showed up in the game wearing the shoes I put in. I then changed shoes for a team I was playing with and it screwed things up - crash. I thought I was going to be able to use eagraph alone to do this, but I guess not.... One other thing, when you say import back into the game via batch what / how do you mean? The H
bigbully, As always, you da man ! Thanks for that tip (I for sure needed it as I erased your PM by mistake ).
bigbully
forgot to mention one thing - when you open the index file with Notepad, change the 3rd line to QFS (if it's FSH) - this will make your file smaller and you can keep your models.big file size as small as possible. dochase
All worked great. Thanks bigbully. Does look like it could be very time consuming though to change all of one item for each team... But fun to mess with. D
