xflbret
Before anyone tells me it's not there, I am sorry...when I'm on the pro level, and choose the Legends, and I'm having trouble with the Blue Rocks and lose to the 66ers, I don't care what anyone says...there is comeback code. I'm not a programmer, so I don't know if it's possible, but since it wasn't in the 04 version, and all these other wonderful things are possible, then there's got to be a way to take the comeback code out of the game. I don't know if we (the royal we) can go into the game and actually edit the code. And as for this "comeback code", I have never had a problem with it, and I play on All-Star. No offense, but if you play on Pro, and have a problem finishing games, I would have to say that you suck. Again, no offense.
TROR
What comeback code? If I am inilliating the CPU, there's no comeback, they might score a couple, but I still win. It seems to me that it is you rather than the game.
Rush2112
Hey man , i have to agree with these guys. I have played 40 games of my season (25-15) using the Braves on All-Star/MVP and Kolb only has 1 blown save. A few times they came back on me in the late innings and won but its not a great amount that made me think theres a comeback bug, just thought it was natural. I am not sure about your pitching style man.... but i do know if you keep trying to throw the same stuff and tryin to get the AI out the same ways often..... eventually they will figure it out and tag you. I dont think thats it honestly.... but its a suggestion. In any event hang in there man.
xflbret
*sigh* I knew this would happen. I know that I'm right, and if you guys haven't been victimized by the comback code then I'm happy for you, but that does not mean that I haven't been victimized by it. Look, I played quite a bit of 2004. I haven't been hit in the head or had a hand chopped off during the winter, yet whenever I have a good inning I seem to be punished by a home rum from someone hitting under .200. I know what I'm talking about here. This kind of talk doesn't get us any closer to eliminating the comback code. Let's keep the talk constructive please. Point is, if nobody else is seeing it, a) that lends very little credibility to your assertion there is such a code, and what suggestions could you get from people who haven't seen any evidence of such a thing. In their eyes, there's nothing to get rid of. GH
goose
Comeback code? WTF? I have to agree with Rush here. It's all in your ability to hold leads.I'm two months into my season and have had a few comebacks against me, but that was because I wasn't pitching well.Walk a few guys, and give up some big hits and your not gonna win. Try adjusting your sliders so you have an easier time pitching.Or lowering the cpu contact and power.
timay
well i have seen this type of thing in a few games, but it does happen in real life, teams get the pressure put on them and they come through, maybe you cant accept a game that is almost a carbon copy of the real thing. xflbret
OK, I fixed the problem... I had stuttering. So, to try to eliminate it, I uninstalled the game, reinstalled it, and repatched it. Not only is my stuttering gone (mostly), but the play is much more like it should be, like it was in 04. I rematched my hated 66ers, and not only did I pitch my first shutout of 05, I scored 23 runs on them as well. This is more like it. Don't ask me how an uninstall/reinstall/repatch fixed the comback code problem, because I can't explain it. All I know is that the comback code was there before, and it is gone now. I'm happy, albiet confused.

mrg1
there never was comeback code, you just blew some games just because the AI comes back on you a few times doesnt mean that its cheating. If the AI hitting gets better as the game goes on, its probably because you keep throwing the same pitch or to the same location and the AI is "learning" what to expect. xflbret
Yeah, I'm sure that's it...a team of single A scrubs are really going to figure out a way of beating a team of the greatest players of the first half of the twentieth century... It's OK if you think before you post, you know. In fact, I'll go so far as to say it's preferred
mrg1
Well, Id go so far as to say youve got a big mouth for someone that comes on these boards with nothing intelligent to say. theres no comeback code if you throw the same pitch over and over the AI WILL capitalize on it if you lose to a single a team with all stars on PRO then you just plain SUCK and next time you feel like getting an attitude, take a deep breath and chill
jbmagicfan
thats why Mound Visit and warming up pitchers is key.

divsc
there may not officially be any comeback code of sorts but if you pull pitcher, no matter how tired, while he is still shutting down a team the AI often seems to thrash you...this is not always the case but I do see it enough to think thrice about going to the pen with a gassed pitcher throwing a shutout
Kane182
Hey guys I reinstalled MVP last night and not only did the comeback code and stuttering issues disappear, but my PS2 controller went into vibrate mode and gave me a foot massage! ;)
