The Big Unit
I downloaded the program to delete all the songs in the game and I put songs that I wanted to hear in it. So, it's pretty much wicked awesome. What program is that? Can you tell me where it is? And do you have to replace the songs? Can you just not have any songs installed? I can free up valuable space on my hard drive by getting rid of that garbage. 8)

The Big Unit
Unit - It's the Ditty Importer - look for it in the downloads section. Thanks Bully. I'm at work now so I can't do anything with it until tomorrow but wondering, can I delete the songs and not replace them with anything at all? I don't see the need for songs in a baseball game. All I want to hear are the announcers and the fans. I know I can turn the volume of the music off but I don't even want that crap on my hard drive. Or do I have to actually replace the songs with other songs. (Hope not)
bigbully
how do you use the ditty importer, there is no readme. pretty simple...find an MP3 on your computer, then choose export folder (I just made a folder on my desktop named "songs"). Then click convert - this will convert your MP3 to an ASF file. The songs in the game are in data/audio/cd (I think) - I'm at home so I cannot tell you for sure. They should be easy to find though, they're named menu1, menu2, etc through menu9. I would make a backup of them just in case. Just rename the ASF you converted w/Ditty Importer to menu1 or whatever, then cut/paste them into the folder mentioned above and say yes to overwrite. ezdriver
When I play baseball, I like to listen to "baseball music". I can't stand to listen to this EA junk, so I just have Music set to -0-. ez
bigbully
1. open ditty importer 2. to right of where it says "Convert File"...click on Browse. This opens up Explorer. Now find a MP3 on your hard drive that you want to put in the game - double-click it. 3. to right of where it says "Output Folder"...repeat steps above and choose folder where you want converted file to go (ex. DestopMVP songs) 4. Below that, click Import. You'll see the progress bar moving. 5. Click exit 6. Find the folder you choose in step 3. Rename that file to menu1. The songs in the game are in data/audio/cd (I think) - I'm at home so I cannot tell you for sure. They should be easy to find though, they're named menu1, menu2, etc through menu9. steroid
I tried in 2004 to delete songs and the game crashed to DT. So if not mistaken, 2005 should do the same thing. It will happen right at the load screen when it tries to find the song to start. So you must have the applicable file right where it needs to be in order for it not to crash. Oh and downloads.com should have an mp3 software you can have. Some are trial version and some are freebies. Just run software after installing it and put CD in hard drive and wallah, instant mp3 format. You will still have to read the help section if your not familiar with the interface of this kind of software, but its easy to do............... nhtroutrus
OK, here's my (probably dumb) questions: 1) Are we in fact limited to 9 songs in MVP 2005? and if so... 2) Does anyone know of a step-by-step method to first join 10 or so mp3 files into a single continuous mp3 file that I could then convert and rename menu1, etc? My goal is to have 90 or so tunes play in sequence while playing the Batting Mini game. I like hearing tunes while I play, but the repitition makes me nuts. Thanks in advance for your responses! Cheers, nhtroutrus
Yankee4Life
I agree...some of these songs are the most annoying songs ive ever heard...just my opinion I agree too. That's why I replaced them with songs of my choice. EA must have put these songs in because they didn't have to pay the artists for doing it. Either that or they gave them a free game.
