Since when was Fenway the best park in the MLB? I beg to differ.
 Wrigley and Fenway are easily the best two parks in MLB. Camden Yards, Minute Maid Park, and SBC come in a close tie for second.

Yankee Stadium isn't any better than the cookie cutters of the 70's.

I'll vouch for Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Anyway Fenway will be a bit delayed on my end. I have my wedding coming up in early May and I need to devote time to that so I don't think I can work on a full blown stadium mod before the season starts. This way I can make one release with all the updated ads and stuff for this season. I can only hope to come somewhat close to Ezorn's masterpiece from last season with the files he gives me.

On another note if you notice EA put the GO SOX version of the Pru in this years Fenway just like Ezorn's mod last year. Now if that isn't a tribute I don't know what is. Looks like the EA guys are checking the mods out after all...

And when was this proven? Who says Fenway is the best park in the MLB? Has a public poll been taken or something that I don't know of?

Of course, yours isn't a biased opinion at all, being that you're a Red Sox fan and all.

How exactly did Yankee Stadium get brought into this? No-one in this thread has said it was the best.

I fail to see how a massive, ugly, sight-blocking wall that had a few cheap seats added to it to gain some cash in a stupidly shaped stadium can be considered "The best park in the MLB".

Well, because the seats are about 20' off the baselines and closer in some parts, the atmosphere is excellent, and people like old quirky buildings. Now that the new ownership has spent a little money on the park and reversed some of the decay it's really a great place. Is it the most comfortable ballpark in the majors? No, in fact it's relatively uncomfortable. Is it a spectacular jewel of a place to watch a baseball game? Absolutely.

If it's uncomfortable to sit in (From what I've heard about the seating anyway), how can it be an enjoyable place to watch a baseball game? Surely one cancels out the other.

It doesn't surprise me - the Red Sox want to cram as many people into their stadium as possible, doesn't matter if they're comfortable, as long as they pay the money. Oh, and while they're jamming everyone in, they can charge over the odds for food and drink as well.

Nice.

your opinion doesn't seem biased, at all.

Maybe that's because their stadium is the smallest in the majors, and they're perpetually competing with a team that has a humongous financial advantage over them?

Hmmm...

no need to fight over which stadium is better

you've got to admit though, fenway is one of the better ones in terms of historical value and all around coolness.

comfortable to sit in and having nice amenities, well not so much.

just my extremely biased opinion 8O :p

You're implying that comfort and enjoyability are directly related to each other. This is clearly not the case most anywhere. Obviously comfort has an impact on the quality of the viewing experience but it is silly to say that a lack of comfort is enough to mean that an experience at the ballpark is not enjoyable. That lack of comfort that occurs because of the tiny 1913-sized seats is what allows the rows to be so condensed and so many of the seats to be so close to the field. I haven't yet had a chance to go to Yankee Stadium (when I get a chance, I'll be sure to go) but I have heard numerous Yankee fans who have gone to Fenway comment on how increadibly close they were to the action on the field in comparison to when they're at a game at Yankee Stadium.

As for cramming people into the stadium... The current ownership has done quit a bit to alleviate the crowding through the creation of wider concourses and the envelopment of surrounding streets into the ballpark footprint. With the addition of a few even wider concourses this coming season I'm sure that the feel will be even more open that it has been in the past. A great thing since it will increase the incentive of fans to get out of their seats and purchase food and souvenirs.

Which gets me to my next point. Since the Red Sox are running a business I don't see what the problem is with charging whatever the fans are willing to pay without at the same time alienating the fan base or preventing all but the wealthiest to attend games. The Red Sox don't possess the largest fan base within their region because other teams have many more fans in their cities and regions. The Yankees, Mets, White Sox, Cubs, Dodgers, Angels, Astros, Rangers, Padres (off the top of my head) all have many more people living in their respective regions. Yet the Red Sox manage to produce much more revenue out of fewer people. I wouldn't call that such a bad thing at all. Wouldn't you be willing to have a coke cost $3.75 at the ballpark instead of $2.50 knowing that the premium pricing is going to help produce a great deal more player payroll?

Edit - I believe the San Francisco bay area has a lot more people living in it than the Boston/New England area. San Fran, Oakland, San Jose and Orange County are packed with people.
