That's too bad you decided to hang them up. '05 is by far the best MVP game released to date. If not for the stutter problem some are having (mine isn't bad enough to notice much but I'm sure they'll add a patch for it), it's nearly perfect out of the box this year. Good luck with '04.

Are you playing with the keyboard? I heard of some people having problems figuring out how to throw outside of the strikezone with the keyboard, resulting in many homeruns by the CPU...

That's hilarious. And I'm with you, although for a different reason. I cannot stand the menu interface for the PC version of this game any longer. After playing the PS2 version last year, I find it way too tedious to do ANYthing in the menus with the mouse, from warming up pitchers to making trades. I'm forever looking for little arrows or "Select" buttons to click. This interface is so laughably bad, I'm selling it and picking up the PS2 version again.

So here's to no more stuttering!

i decided to pick up the ps2 version, great decision on my part. NO stuttering (except for some parts...but nothing major in play like the 3rd to 1st base throws) Plus, all the menus work with the dual shock, which is a plus.

No mods, but it's minor issue since gameplay is still the most important thing.

I don't play with the keyboard...I think I read that you have to hold down the NumLock key to throw outside of the strikezone.

I'm sure if you don't, you will get hit very hard.

is that the only complaint you have? have you tried joy to key to make this "problem" non-existent? it's an easy permanent fix to your dilemma. makes more sense to try that than settle for a watered down ps2 version.

yeah i'm in the " i'm gonna help everyone solve their problems" mode today for some reason. i guess i'm tired of all the BS arguments i've been seeing lately. it'd be nice to see this place get back to what it used to be... a community. lead by example i suppose.

i give up. i test everything, slider and database. rookie, pro, mvp.

i lost lost games with 2-7, 4-10,1-7,1-8 with the mets. no homerun,

the cpu makes 3 or 5 every game. i test the slider myself with

batting contact 50 to -50 for cpu and power 50 to -50 for cpu and so on.

it´s exteme but nothing help. i won only some games if i sim it :x

i dont know. i think the best idea is to put this game in the trash and

ea my mony in they a**...yeah

or better yet buy a controller. modern sports games are not mean for the keyboard. FPS are great and actually far superior with the keyboard and mouse without a doubt. but, sports games should always be played w/ a gamepad IMO. i understand where you are coming from, i was a console hater (hence gamepad hater) for years. but then i broke down and got a pc gamepad for sports games (still use the keyboard for FPS) only and it was the best thing i ever did. if i had never done that i'd probably be feeling the way you are now.

"Not" Joy to key can be mapped to do anything a keyboard can do and then some, I dont know what version you got but it kicks, hell you can use it to nav. these boards! do some reserch before you go past it, Flawless prog. if you take some time to map it out, I use it for all Ea games on Pc. Dont have to touch the keyboard! all done with the controller just like my littlebro`s ps2 but with 10 times the gfx on Pc :D

this is correct it will take the place of your mouse essentially on the in game menus, scrolls opens closes etc. i just mapped it for mouse emulation, look at the link provided. it'll change everything for you.

joern mate

just try using a pad - with dual action controls

it opens up so much more to the game

to give up on it, because you cant use a keyboard is silly imo - as you are missing out on a better out of the box game than 2004, plus all the 2005 mods coming along a treat, you will be missing out on those.

pc gamepads have come along way - and now resemble the console pads more than ever - plus with all the 3rd party software - you can tweak your pad to do all sorts, never needing to use your mouse again :)

Exactly, I have it set up so that my gamepad takes the place of my mouse, even including the scroll wheel. I have a cordless controller so I can even browse these forums while comfortably reclining in my chair :)

With it set up properly in MVP 2005 there is nothing you can't do, other than type letters for creating a player.

If you just take some time to set it up properly it's great.

joernIII dont give up hope......when i first got the game i played on rookie then moved up leevels and im playing on all star now with no problem. see i was giving up homeruns but u need to practice. play more exibition games......thats what i did....i use to give up 6-10 hr a game ( ) but im giving up maybe 2 per 6 games now. my scores are realistic (3-2, 2-1, 4-1) practice makes perfect.

and i have stuturing on PS2. it only happens when im pitching and theres men on 2 and 3rd or bases loaded. i got use to it now so i own the stuter!!
