bellis123
OK guys what gives? In MVP 2004 the hitting, and run production was much more realistic for both the user and the cpu. I am lucky if I score a run in a game on allstar with my contact and power turned up to 50? I just lost 5-1 as the Detriot Tigers. I try to be patient and wait for good pitches, but I still pop em up. Even when I really get a hold of one I might hit it to the warning track. Basically I would like to know what you guys are doing. What are your average scores? How are your sliders set? Do I just need to practice more hitting or what? Thanks Brent
Kriegz
Hmm my advice is to just play more and try to get used to the timing, I reccomend the hitters eye, it helps alot, and try some mini-games to work on your timing. I agree it was real hard to hit right out of the box this year, the only way you can really get better is with practice IMO in real live and with video games
endeavor
I agree with Tribetime here. My sliders are on 15 hitting and 11 power, and I have no such problems

mrtuck73
I play on All Star and have my sliders at contact: 10 and power: 5 for both myself and the CPU. I still have alot of low scoring games but I have had a few where I beat the CPU 7-1 or 9-0. I have also had it handed to me by the CPU by those same kinds of scores. The average however is 3-2 or 4-3.
paulw
I score as many runs with 2005 as I did with 2004. Still too many homers but lots more walks. Sometimes too many. If there's one key to hitting it's very similar to the real thing - PATIENCE. Look for a particular pitch in a particular location. Get ahead in the count (which is a lot easier this year) and you'll get the pitch you're looking for. BTW - I play at ALL STAR and have contact and power both set at 0 (default). thetruth10
turn down the pitch speed and it will be a lot less frustrating to hit. i highly reccomend it. adjust sliders accordingly if you start to hit too well. i put it on -25 pitch speed and i have user contact 12 power 1 and the cpu has contact 18 power 1. pretty good games so far. this on all-star with slider tweaks. thetruth10
i do seem to get too many of my runs off homers though. seems like i mostly either hit a single or a homer or walk. haven't really seen any sliders that really help too much.
Comfortablylomb
I think that it is actually harder to hit when the pitch speed is lower. Off-speed pitches become much more extreme and it becomes more difficult to make solid contact on them. That effect seems to balance against fastballs becoming much easier to hit with the lower pitch speed.
