paulw
After studying the ratings EA has for players this year, I found that their distribution of power now has a minimum value of around 25. I've put together a new formula for power to accomodate this. This is an Isolated Power based model: POWER=(30+327.5*ISO-665*ISO^2+488*ISO^3)-(2*(5-Hr%)) Where: ISO = SLUGAvg - BattingAVg Hr% = (Hr / AB) * 100 You won't notice a lot of difference in the upper end of the distribution. The most noticeable changes are with players with very little power. If you'd like to download an Excel speadsheet with the new formula, here's the link: http://home.wi.rr.com/wangerin/2005_power_template.xls The spreadsheet calculates left and right handed values also. This is only if you don't have stats for vs. left and vs. right.

Stix
Thanks alot but I must add that I think it favors LHP a bit over RHP because they are nearly always higher. :D
Stix
Are you or do you have a spread for pitchers?
paulw
I don't have any pitcher info. If you really are interested in making your own pitcher ratings, for whatever era, go to your local bookstore and pick up a copy of "The Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers". It's an absolutely awesome reference - and a great book.
