tips on gettin da batter to strikeout?

Well i don't know about the Pro MVP and ALl Star levels but i know that in Rookie you can get 10+ strikeouts per game by throwing the [] pitch down and out in the corner, followed by the O Pitch (2 Seam Fastball all the time i think) down and in, in the corner and finally the 4 Seam Fastball up and in, in the corner for strike 3.

I always do this is Rookie Diffculty and have racked up 15 k's and thrown a complete game shutout and thrown under 100 pitches maybe 110 too.

Always works but i doubt it works for Pro, MVP, All Star difficulties. But the best advice we all can give you is to always pitch at the 4 corners and try and get it as close to the box line as possible so that really close pitches are called strikes.

Avoid throwing high pitches, unless you've got a pitcher with real gas and it's a high fastball for a put away pitch.

Hit the edges of the strike zone as much as you can. The inside/outside corners, and the edge on the low part of the zone.

Mix up your pitches, both in velocity and style (breaking pitches, sinking pitches, etc.).

For a good put away pitch, I find a that two pitches work very well for this:

The first is the inside fastball, put it just on the edge of the zone, or maybe even a little out of the strike zone. Most batters will whiff on it, or have weak contact, sometimes they'll foul it off.

The second pitch is a breaking ball just on the edge of the zone. With this, it doesn't matter how the batter swings (lefty/righty), just what arm your pitcher throws with. Put the ball on the edge of the zone, or just barely out of the zone, on the same side that your pitcher throws. You want to avoid throwing breaking pitches accross the plate. I find with this method, a lot of batters won't even swing at the ball, because they think it's going to stay out of the strike zone, but it ends up breaking into the zone and you get the call.

Usually if I can't get the batter down with one put away pitch, the second will work (assuming the batter didn't get a hit with your first put away pitch).

High heat also works sometimes too. But make sure that it's just out of the strike zone, and that the batter doesn't have any red squares in the top of the zone. Any small mistake could get ripped.

A lot of it is mixing up location, velocity, and pitch style to get the first two strikes on the batter. After that, those two final pitches (three if you count the high heat) will usually send the batter packing.

i play in mvp level and i get plenty of K´s, try to work the corners with the 4-Seam Fastball but only when you are in a 1-2 or 0-2 count because if you throw a fastball in the strike zone in a 3-2 count you´ll get hit pretty hard, also try changeups low and away (any count) but always throw cahngeups after you have thrown a fastball so you´ll mess with his timing, if you have a pitcher with 94+ MPH fastballs (like Randy Johnson, Ben Sheets, Oliver Perez, etc) throw them up, and the classic is a 12 to 6 Curveball low.

hope this helps.

thanks for da advice, i'm playing at pro

damn bro, i average 10 strikeouts a game, usually give up 1 or 2 hits, i have thrown 6 shutouts in a row, still haven't thrown the elusive perfect game, or even a no hitter, always mess it up in the late innings, one game i had 1 out left in the 9th, they end up getting 3 hits in a row, the last one being a 3 run home run and beat me 3-2, almost a perfect game

I'm on All-Star and average around 5 strike-outs per game.

My out pitches are usually curve balls that start off the plate and come in to catch the corner and a slider that breaks off the plate into the batter. Just don't miss the mark on that slider or you end up with a hit batter.

That's the way. Work all corners and change speeds.
